“I went here on a whim and made my first big purchases for my new condo. First time moving out isn’t easy but they made it easy! I had such a positive experience with the whole staff there - even the delivery guys! The first couch I purchased didnt fit through the entrance. The delivery guys tried their best but it was too big. Thankfully he called right away and told me they had 2 smaller ones to look at. I got my new couch the next day and it’s perfect. Great antique and modern furniture, light fixtures, books, records, clothes, jewelry, kitchenware, gardening, sport gears, textiles, rugs, mirrors and art... they also have a year-round Xmas shop and regular department discounts. This shop is also incredibly well curated. Items are very fairly priced too. Rene', the owner, and her army of charming helpers are a true delight. Always smiling and welcoming. We bought so much from this store. It has brought so much joy. We end up there almost every week and rarely leave empty handed. And the money goes to charity. I mean, what more do you want? This is the one and only thrift store in you need. Chicagoans, take a trip to Libertyville and learn how it's done. If you have not been to Upscale Rummage yet, you don't know what thrifting is about. Go. NOW!”

“I want to start off by saying that I called Penny Mustard customer Service about a question on how to get a king size mattress which I had "inherited" up my stairs. The mattress (which was purchased from Penny Mustard by a friend who decided to move out of state) sat in my living room for a month before attempting to hike it up the stairs. I called Penny Mustard to ask if they had any advice and spoke to Donna who not only was friendly and very knowledgeable about mattresses. She took the time to speak to me about "folding the mattress in half" and getting it up the stairs. And she was so right! We got the king size mattress up the stairs like professional movers.Thank you Donna for taking the time and sharing your wisdom in mattress moving and for an excellent customer experience.”
“This place has a good selection, but it is really overwhelming and unorganized. We went on a Saturday but there were no carts anywhere to be found.
Also was hard to find a person that worked there to help, and while there is a larger selection at the combined store it was really congested. It just seemed like there was a lot of unorganization and disarray. Now this could be because we went on a Saturday, but Ive been to a lot of stand alone Home Goods and it didnt feel the same.”
“I had to pick up some pool supplies and drove around 30 miles to get here - it's the only "local" place that had everything I needed. Walked in the door and there were three or four sales people looking at me. My first thought was "Great, now I have to deal with pushy salespeople." Nope. Guy walks up to me, asks me what I need, I tell him. He grabs a cart and shows me where everything is, tells me the different options, and was really helpful. No upselling, add-on selling, no pressure, just genuinely helpful.The entrance in in the back - kind of strange. So when you park in back that corner door is the main entrance!”
