We have been coming here for several years for champagne and wine and are never disappointed! Larry really knows his stuff and he will find amazing bottles in your price range. He's always been very nice to deal with and has some truly unique finds. The last time we came, he recommended a mid priced Italian Amarone and it was so fantastic with the steak dinner we had! He's very knowledgeable and always happy to help with suggestions regardless of price range. Highly recommend the Wine Cellar.

Really great selection but we had two things that prevented a better rating. First, prices are pretty high on average due to a slant toward high end labels. Second, and we honestly did walk in 10 minutes past their stated closing time, the employee seemed a bit “miffed” to have to answer our questions and cash us out. Again, we were late to come in but we still expected a friendly attitude.VictorB

Larry is back and brings his usual wealth of knowledge to the table. He always has recommendations that fit within your budget and his passion for wine is extraordinary. It's a neat store with a ton of unique varietals and vintages. Cheers!

My brother's birthday was coming up and wanted to send him a few bottles of wine as a gift. I searched online and found Wine Cellar was in the area. As I entered I noticed an extensive selection of wines. I advised the gentleman behind the counter what I was looking for, how much I wanted to spend and if it could be delivered. We walked thru the shop as he recommended a red and a white wine for my brother's gift and was able to deliver it a day before his birthday. It all worked out well, purchased the wines recommended and was delivered, received and appreciated. Very happy as it was an effortless experience. Definitely recommend and will be back!!

I'm sorry, but this place is supposed to specialize in wine, right? I asked a total of 3 questions and the rotund man sitting behind the counter was too lazy and annoyed to bother answering my questions. He instead said "oh my goood", then huffed and puffed. His associate came to help me instead. His associate then said, "he's just in a bad mood". WHAT KIND OF SERVICE IS THAT? I planned on buying several bottles today, and probably a lot of more in the future, but will definitely never spend a dime here now. Go ahead and put your Trump speech back on full blast and get back to your bag of Doritos. Sorry to have bothered you. Absolutely the worse customer service for a simple question of "do you have any suggestions on your Spanish wines here?

I ordered a bottle of Love You Bunches rose as a gift for delivery, as part of the Mother’s Day special that includes a card. What a fun idea! Great over-the-phone experience. I hope they get lots of orders, and hope to visit in the future.

Excellent selection and prices. Picked up 2007 Viader that was well priced! Cold storage on-site. I will definitely come back!

I have been going to Larry since he bought the place and I have always found him to be knowledgeable and helpful. He can help you find wines for any budget from cheap all the way to the top end and does his best to find you a wine you will enjoy. He does not carry budget wines available widely as he admits he cannot compete on price. Instead, he provides a great variety of interesting good tasting wine at great prices. For those who have complained about being overcharged because they looked at something like cellar tracker, they of course are incorrect. Cellar tracker will send you out to wine searcher and those prices listed are not real. If you click on the link and actually go to the website they are 50 times higher in price. I read some of the reviews here and actually followed up to check the price. The individual complained about a $70 bottle of wine which was $23 at CellarTracker. When I actually clicked on the link and put it in your cart it was 120 euro which is double the price that she paid with Larry. I also can't believe that people will complain about not liking a bottle of wine and blaming it on the store. At any rate, I find Larry's recommendations to be excellent and his prices to be highly competitive. If you want cheap wine go to Costco, Target or Jewel. If you want a broader selection of better tasting wine at a reasonable price, come here.

I had the same experience as others - overpriced rip-off artists. They charged me way too much for mediocre wine. Extremely disappointed, as they were very friendly and helpful. I won't be back.

I read some of the less-than-positive reviews and they deterred me from stopping here. Shame on me. There is an incredible wine and spirits selection here in two large rooms- more than the photos let on. The owner is knowledgeable and helpful. I’d much rather shop here than Garfield’s since the wine prices and selection are better. I bought a couple bottles of mid priced champagne that were very good. This is my local now!

Been going to this place on and off over the years and am finally done. Wine is consistently over-priced. Asked the owner 3 times over the years to add me to the email list for sales and events and he never did. Recently, I asked for some recommendations for interesting bottles and the owner sent us home with bottles that were well past their advised drinking windows (e.g., 2005 Parsons Flat Shiraz - Cabernet, average community price in cellar tracker $23, he charged us $70 (yes I know you pay more for an older vintage), AND suggested drinking window of 2010-2014.) Drank it last night and it was OK, but NOT worth that price point. We go to places like this for better service and unique bottles, but this is ridiculous. There are too many other options in the Northwest suburbs with better service, good selection and prices. Go elsewhere!

Wine cellar is the best!! Larry is super knowledgeable and has wine for the regular guy or the sophisticated wine connoisseur. Tell him what you like and a price range and he will find something great for you!! he definitely avoids carrying wines that are available in big box stores which means he has some great unknowns.

Great selection of wines, new and older. Prices are a little high but not unreasonable.
