2296 n Rand rd Palatine, they ageed to sell me a car for a specific price. I bought my airline ticket and ran a carfax report. While I was at the airport waiting for my flight to Chicago, I received a text saying they sold the car to someone else. This is horrible business bractice and so unethical

Beware -Laby Koulourianos is Dishonest, Deceitful, Careless... I purchased a 2012 Hyundai Elantra from Palatine Motors in cash. The owner insisted I could trust him with my purchase. Not even a week later I nearly get into a car accident due to two break lines breaking while on the road.Upon towing the car to the nearest repair shop I am told that the broken brake lines are the least of my worries. Upon inspection, I am told that the car is not even legal to drive. I am informed that the entire subframe is corroded. I am told that entire pieces of the subframe are broken and any slight bump in the road can break the frame even further. The vehicle is a safety hazard as is but hitting a bump at the wrong angle would make the entire vehicle undrivable. I am in unbelief as I paid for this in cash after being told I can trust the owner.I took pictures of the extensive corrosion and shared them with Laby Koulourianos, the owner of Palatine Motors. According to him, this was normal wear and tear, and stated that the repair shop just wants money. I assured him it was not and so we went to the neighboring Hyundai Dealership to get a second opinion and confirm that the damage is as bad as my repair shop says it is. We show them the pictures of the damage and they confirm that the damage is indeed bad, far beyond normal wear and tear. The Hyundai Dealership agreed that Palatine Motors should never have sold me this car and should have disclosed this safety hazard upfront.I pleaded with the owner to pay for half of the repair cost of $3,330, less than the 5K the Hyundai dealership quoted. I informed him that he broke my trust and through his dishonesty and negligence put me, my wife, and three kids in real danger. This is the least he could do to make things right by me.The owner felt no sense of responsibility for what he sold me and according to him, he did nothing wrong. Too bad so sad. No sense of care for those that place their trust in him. To be fair he did offer to repair the vehicle, but it quickly became apparent to me that Laby Koulourianos was not at all interested in doing right by the customer even if it put a customer at a safety risk. He was just interested in his pocketbook. He was already talking about purchasing really cheap parts signaling to me that he wanted to cut any possible corner and move on to his next victim. Naturally, I refused. I can't imagine how many people he is doing this too. Buyer beware-go elsewhere.
