I want to bring attention to the awful experience I had today at the car rental place. I booked a midsize Mazda online through the Uber app, only to arrive and be told they no longer work with Uber. After some hassle, they offered me a van instead, which was not what I reserved. This completely disrupted my plans for the day, and I will not be forgiving or forgetting this. I strongly advise others to avoid this place or double-check everything before making any payments.

Best car rental experience! They are so professional and they always gives you the best car. It is always a pleasure dealing with the manager Edgar and he has the best crew and best customer service.

Extremely poor customer service and high level of incompetence exhibited by the staff to help customers in a quick manner.
8/15/2024 Update- The business overcharged my rental by ~$400. They did not provide or send a receipt for the rental. I still have yet to hear from anyone at Hertz corporate or Hertz Palatine regarding this problem. I highly recommend taking your business elsewhere.

Booked a Tesla 10 day in advance( it was guaranteed according to their website) . That was about to be a father's day present for my dad. We were supposed to have some fun driving this Model 3 Long Range. Was about to pick it up on Wednesday morning at 8am. Tuesday at 4:30 they called me and informed me that car is unavailable!!!!!!! Guys was rude and did not care at all about anything.
My dad was really looking forward to it and was very sad when he found out. Thanks Hertz for messing this up!!!!!
Will never use Hertz again!!!!!!

If I could give them 0 stars I would. They charged me 27 dollars because they claim I didn't not fill their gas tank after I had returned the vehicle. I did indeed fill their gas tank and was charged very upset with this company watch out for these guys you will be charged even when you fill their tank past what you had it at. The worker when I called was also very unhelpful and was happy he was able to charge me that extra $27 dollars. Make sure you take pictures before you enter the vehicle and after you fill their tank else they will screw you!

I was asked "do you want a basic or premium protection plan?" Which is a great sales tactic of not giving the option of "none" so I kinda absentmindedly said "basic I guess". Wasn't told the price. Turns out it added over $250 to my bill, which was originally $230, so over doubled the price.
When I picked the car up, it had a 1/4 tank of gas. I returned it with 3/4 of a tank of gas. There is no compensation for this, despite them charging over $10 a gallon to you if you return it low. So I basically gave them $30 for no reason, which is cool after spending over double what I thought I'd be spending on the car.
On top of this, the building was pretty dirty. The same scraps of paper were still on the floor when I dropped the car off that were there when I picked it up 6 days ago.
I want to specify that none of this is really on the worker (minus the underhanded upsell technique), as this location is clearly understaffed and poorly managed. Not impressed with my experience here at all. Hire more people and be more honest.

Horrible customer service, would not accept paper copy of driver's license with current id, Edgar the manager was short with me and condescending, treating me substandard, and walked away and slammed his office door. Desk staff was polite.

I’ve rented from this location multiple times for business. These guys are always on top of the rental situation. Contract is ready, cars are clean and they get you on the road quickly. If you need a local rental in Arlington Heights or Palatine, this is to go to place

I highly recommend you to avoid this place. There is a sleezy guy, wrapped up in a neat outfit just to hide his personality, who will coldly tell you that there is no car for you although you reserved it. What is the point of reservation- he doesn't know apparently. By reserving a vehicle here, you will waste your Uber or Lyft money, if that's how you'll reach this fraudulent place. And you can get into a trouble if you have an important appointment, and you rely on a reservation of a vehicle. Outrageous.
