“This is the average joe's gym you probably didn't know you needed in your life. I tried big box gyms and classes in the past but they never really stuck for me and eventually I would lose interest and move on. I have been working with Kyle Hart for over 3 years and counting now.The workouts are guided and specific to each client. Its a fraction of the cost of a standard personal trainer but the same type of quality. He has a focus on full body health and sustainable results. He works with people of all ages and levels of personal fitness and makes an environment you want to be a part of. Could not recommend trying him out for a free session more. The results are there for me and my family.”
“We have been members for several years and have always appreciated the dedication of the staff. It is a great facility and since reopening, the focus on making sure the facilities are clean is commendable. I'd recommend for anyone looking for more than just a 'gym'.”
“I have been here three times now. Good way to learn new training methods, and it does not allow you ignore cardio like most people do in the gym. Also, the social aspect of working out with others makes for a good community atmosphere. Splat points is a good way to track progress. Becky was really helpful.”

I called to get her a gift certificate for her birthday, their staff was easy to get a hold of and made the process very easy. They were very knowledgeable and answered all my questions when I called. Definitely recommend if you are lookin forward to a last minute gift idea”

“After many times of going back and forth on joining, I am so glad that I did. My family and I love this gym! My daughter loves kidtown and I love the variety of things I can do here. There are a lot of classes to choose from, a basketball court, indoor and outdoor tennis/pickleball courts, areas with gym equipment, a cycling room and more. I especially love the PIlates Amped, 312, Zumba, boxing and Endure classes (mix of treadmill and strength exercises). You don't have to reserve a spot in the class in advance and there is no penalty for walking in late. I highly recommend checking out classes taught by Nikki! Kidtown is where kids can play for up to 2 hours every day while the parents get to do whatever they want at the gym. On top of exercising, this includes the ability to do work in the well-designed library, swim in their indoor and outdoor pools, relax in the hot tub, dry or steam sauna and simply being able to shower in peace. The outdoor pools have an area where the depth is 1.5 feet which is perfect for my toddler. I've never had a problem with the staff; all are friendly and helpful. I come here about 5/week. I hope to see you there!”
“Every time i come in the Buehler YMCA it fells like home: people are glad to see you, ready to help and positive. Be it exercise, work, social event, or simply relaxation , I'm coming out of there even in better mood than i came in.

“Doesn't have all the machines or free weights you can find at other gyms but the location in Palatine is always clean, staff can always be found and are very helpful answering questions.”
“Almost 2 year update 9/18/24: they’ve cleaned up the place esp the men’s bathroom, kudos to the existing and newer staff. Everything else mentioned earlier has been consistent, abundant supply of barbell clips, broken machines get fixed quickly, even seen benches get replaced multiple times from minor wear and tear. Good job y’all, your efforts are def noticeable!
Original Review Feb 22’: Recently joined this gym as I was looking for something closer to home, and was primarily interested in free weights, and the value of my membership vs extra amenities that I rarely use (swimming pool, b-ball courts, etc)
1 week into it and I’m very pleased. Members and staff are friendly, gym is pretty clean considering it’s not as large and busy as LA/X-Sport/Lifetime around lunch time/early afternoon. Sign up process took 5-10min since I knew exactly what I wanted and called ahead of time.
The only thing I would suggest is having more clips for the barbells, but I’m assuming they’re being stolen considering they’re one of the nicest clips I’ve ever used the one time I saw them available. May consider bringing in my own set to address this issue. Still 5/5 stars overall. Hard to beat for what was $9.99, and now $15/month for the basic plan.
Hope to be here for many years to come!”
“This fitness and training center is awesome! Everything you need for overall health and fitness, best in class experience for any martial arts training. Truly grateful to have been welcomed in to such a place.”
