I have boarded my dog here for years and have never had a problem. My dog just stayed for 10 nights and when we picked him up he was happy and they even trimmed his nails for free! Highly recommend.

Very sad about my experience here. New puppy owner and got daycare all lined up. I also signed up for Puppy in training classes which I was never even told was required for day care but I was ALL IN. I was told that daycare would be $45 a day after training. When I dropped my sweet boy off this morning was told it's now $70 a day. When I questioned it I was told I could take my Puppy home and not leave him, but I had to go to work. I asked if I could get pro rated amount refunded of I found something alternative after today and the response was "I'll refund you right now".If you can't polity question mis information when you are leaving a beautiful new addition to your family with out basically being told told to leave........they obviously don't value our dogs the way we do. We are obviously just a $ sign. The woman today was so passive aggressive and awful. It's so sad to be treated this way. I also tried to contact John who I initially spoke to t9 try and clear any misunderstanding up. My email was ignored and when i called they couldnt transfer me to him. Save yourself the time. Many other options in Palatine area.

The staff here is great! My dog loved her first day care experience and will be returning. The staff is very responsive and always willing to answer questions you may have about sign up or how your dog is doing while they are there.

We were long-time dog lovers but first-time dog owners when we got our puppy at 10 weeks old. Our goal was for a visitor-friendly, well-mannered and happy dog. By taking him to Closer Bond for puppy training and then for residency training, both River, and our family, learned the skills we need to work together and understand each other. He's now in the therapy class with my teen daughter who has dreamed of having him serve as a therapy dog. We haven't done the daytime enrichment, but the group obedience classes are gamified to make it fun for you and your dog. It's a nice community feel among the trainers and the attendees. We are so happy to have found this place and recommend it to others. It is not cheap, but it feels like a "get what you pay for" experience. We consider it an investment for the future. Highly recommend, and a special shoutout to Sarah Kandel who trained our pup and feels like a partner in his development.

It’s was a long 3 weeks without our boy but I’d do it all over again! Wow! Is all I can say……so happy we did this. Looking forward to the post training opportunities too. He’s a changed boy for the better. Thank you!

I rescued my dog Mikey (a chihuahua mix) from a shelter a couple years ago after he was picked up as a stray. Mikey has proven to possess many typical characteristics of the breed. His hyper behavior in the house and while riding in the car were only 2 of the behaviors that A Closer Bond worked to correct while I left him for a 3-week residential training. It was very difficult to leave him! I was afraid when I went to pick him up after 3 weeks his personality would have been drained out of him. But, I was so relieved to be greeted by Mikey at pick up like we’d never been apart. His personality was the same but his annoying behaviors very notably improved. I want to praise Asia, the trainer assigned to help Mikey! She very clearly understands personalities and behaviors of dogs and seemed to be able to read me as well while observing my interactions with Mikey. Asia was very patient while working with me on how to elicit Mikey’s newly learned behaviors. Asia was excellent with her communication about Mikey while he was away. She regularly updated me on his progress and sent pictures to let me know he was alive and well. In general, all communication with Closer Bond was excellent! The staff at Closer Bond were very friendly as they greeted us at drop off, pick up and when we came for follow up sessions. This 5-star review is well earned!

Nothing good or bad, just want to share some info. I am looking for a day care center for my dog. For this place, you need to pay a minimum $600 first for a training program. After that, your dog can go into their day care. If you don't want to pay the $600(pr maybe more, based on their evaluation), your dog cannot go to the day care.

I felt like I was being psychologically evaluated by the trainer who met with me gave me hardly any advice and I paid 40 dollars for it. The trainers personality wasn't personable at all he was a bit prideful acting. In ither words I wasn't coming in for a psychological evaluation of myself but of my dog. Also fyi your dog can't even go to their daycare or stay overnight if they haven't been in their program which costs almost 3000!

Our dog Milo loves coming here for daycare and boarding. He always comes home worn out and happy. On daycare mornings, all we have to say is “Milo school time!” and his tail immediately starts wagging and he runs to the door. They really get dogs, and having had a dog all my life, I can tell that they really love what they do. All the handlers are enthusiastic and happy to see all the dogs.
