I have been a long customer of Midwest Animal because of Dr. Brooks. I bring my Norwegian Forest Cat in last year to have his ears cleaned. They shaved the points off his face!!!Today, I bring him in for an ultrasound and got him home to see that they shaved his underneath area without telling me or my consent (he looks ridiculous). I called several times and they are so "oh well" attitude and blame it on the girls at the front desk for not informing me NEVER TAKING ACCOUNTABILITY FOR THEIR ACTIONS!!!NVA Corporation owns Midwest Animal Hospital and I have reached out to them as well.

While I have absolutely loved Midwest Animal Hospital for the last 10 years of bringing all of our dogs there, the doctors and the staff are top notch for sure, it's getting more and more difficult to get in anymore. Appointments are now at least 2 wks out and if you go in as a walk in for shots and nails you're there at least 3 hours. Not sure what happened there, but I think I liked it better BEFORE it went to an appointment based office.

Ridiculous add on fees for vaccinations. Price gouging for simple procedures such as mail trim. No regard for appointment times with over hour wait times with an appointment. Perhaps they don’t understand the concept. Plenty of good veterinarians in the area who care more about pets than money

We’ve been taking our dogs here for over a decade and have had really positive experiences! Whether for grooming, boarding, or medical care - the vets, techs, and all the staff really care about animals and treat them as they would their own! Highly recommended!

I'm so bummed that I can't remember the name of the vet who took care of my Rocky, but she completely changed my opinion of Midwest. I was scared to bring my dog here but he was super sick and I didn't know what else to do. She was very patient with my son and I, and handled Rocky with the best care. Even when she told us that it was time to put him down. She gave us the names of in home euthanasia and even called a few weeks later to follow up with us. I know she's only there part-time, I believe, but she was an angel in the middle of a disaster. Because of her I changed my 1 star review to a 5.

Made an appointment for updated Vaccinations for our dog even after them telling me there is a mandatory (extortion) exam fee for all vaccinations. I wanted to go there because we have been taking our dog there since she was a puppy and their boarding service is great. I made an appointment because the wait times for their previous NO APPOINTMENT POLICY was ridiculous often leading to ridiculous wait times. I called an the next available appointment was two weeks out. Showed up for the appointment early and asked about a nail trim. The tech asked if I wanted regular or dremmel. I asked if there was a difference in price. She looked it up and it was $23.00 for regular and $40.00 for dremmel..maybe they don't realize or care there is plenty of competition in the area. I was checked into a room shortly after our appointment time only to wait in the exam room for one hour before the Veterinarian finally came on. Glad we made an appointment. The doctor was very nice made a cursory "sorry for the wait" comment, asked if I had any concerns about the dog, listened to the heartbeat, administered the vaccines and left. Maybe 7 minutes start to finish. Time to find a new facility!

Do NOT TAKE your French bulldog to this very popular veterinary hospital TODAY 12/16/2023 this Hospital killed my French bulldog as she was having a C-section.3 days ago brought her to this veterinarian and requested a C-section at that time it was her 61st day of pregnancy. They made me pay for progesterone test and said she was not ready bring her back tomorrow The same story they gave me the next day so I brought her back same story she’s not ready now. Today is her 65th day. I bring her in they C-section her then they come out and tell me my dog died. One of the puppies is dead, and I’m left with four dogs with no mother, this has happened to three breeders that I know I am not a breeder . This is my pet. This place is very dangerous and they don’t care because they’re very popular among French bulldog owners I will be joining breeder who had the same experience with her dog last year Thanksgiving day, She has an a lawyer to sue this veterinarian hospital.

While the actual vets and people seem to be great people and wanting to do well, the system sucks so bad. Not sure why they haven’t found better solutions. We’ve been going for 3 years and it hasn’t gotten any better. Originally there was only walk in appts so you’d have to sit in your car for hours to get in. Now for those who have the puppy plans they are allowed to schedule appointments, but those times are not convenient. Today we did a walk-in, they told us that we would be given a timeslot for when they would call us… Between 8 AM and 11 AM. They did not text or anything until after 11:20 AM. (I literally work from home, have a baby and live 25 minutes away). We headed over, texted when we were there like they said to, waited in our car for another 50 minutes With a crying baby and two dogs in the car. They were efficient once we got in, but I do not understand this madness. Who has time to spend three hours at the vet or getting ready to go to the vet?I would not recommend this place to anybody but an elderly couple who may doesn’t have anything going on in their schedules. In addition, I feel like the puppy plans are great for people who cannot pay bulk amounts at once, which is why we have them, but at the same time they don’t really cover anything emergent so, when our dog stopped being able to walk, we ended up with thousands of dollars in vet bills.

I have been going there for years with my pets, yesterday was the very first time that my pet and I was treated very poorly with This new vet Dr. Rose That I haven't seen her before, we was treated very poorly and I will not be returning, to this location.

The staff and vets here are absolutely amazing! Dr. Settle and Dr. Sowa are extremely knowledgeable and very caring. They have always taken excellent care of our fur baby, Maverick.
