I had an "heirloom print" from my grandfather's farmhouse. It was a circular image in a 20"x28" frame. The original Matt was there, but water damaged. THEY HAD THE ORIGINAL TO USE AS A TEMPLATE. But Michael does not cut Matt's, they send them to a place in Texas. I chose the expedited shipping. After 12 days with no word, I went BACK to Michael's where Miguel said he couldn't figure out what had happened to the order, but he would BE HAPPY TO REORDER IT FOR ME. Did so, and a week later I went back. The pictures tell the story. You can see the print and the original Matt, and you can ALSO see what they delivered....a 24"x32" matt with a WAY TOO BIG OVAL (not circular) opening. The Manager (Ernest?) got WAY CONDESCENDING and told me they would BE HAPPY TO REORDER IT FOR ME. (A word to the wise, Ernest, you can be snotty and condescending when you are GOOD AT YOUR JOB. Since you are not, you should hold off on the attitude). Frustrated, I figured I'd see what Hobby Lobby could do. Guess what? Hobby Lobby cuts their own matts, which the gal did in about 5 minutes. She also dry-mounted the print (another 5 minutes), and put everything together in the frame (another 5 minutes) for considerably LESS than Michael's had quoted me. Looking around while I was there, I noted that Hobby Lobby also has a better selection of frames and framing options, and their staff is MUCH more professional and talented. Another word to the wise.... avoid Michael's!

Takes forever for a pickup order to be filled. Called and they put me on hold for 10 minutes then hung up. I have called back 5 times and nobody answers.

I would give 0 stars if I could, my wife has ALWAYS loved michaels. Normally the service is great and staff is friendly and kind. My wife could always depend on michaels for items she needs for her crafts. Not lately though. My wife placed a pick up for 2 100% polyester shirts to sublimate and when she went to start her project, she opened the bag and they gave her 2 100% cotton shirts that cannot be sublimated on. And mind you she got them on sale for 4$. She called the store and you could tell whoever picked up the phone did NOT care of the mistake. She was told to take them back and exchange them. Today she goes in to exchange the shirts and they don't even have the polyester ones anymore. Now my wife is an entrepreneur and has her own small business with an order due today. Instead of apologizing for the mistake and offering to help find another location with the shirts, she had 2 employees argue with her and tell her she needs to take the refund. This is the worst store for customer service skills and they have officially lost our business. If you go to Michaels often, I do not recommend this location.

They need to hire people that 1 want to work with customer and 2 no what they are doing. I went to the store that to buy a circut and took it the check out they had to get it out of the back. Well 45 minutes later still nothing. The cashier forgot to call it in ( I was standing right there the whole time ) then when she did it too another 30 minutes and then I was told ya they are not sure where it is so sorry........

We love Michaels! We visit this location a lot to buy materials for work and personal projects. The rewards program is extremely beneficial. We frequently receive discounts for our purchases. The store has a friendly and laid back vibe. The employees are helpful and always take interests in the different projects they help us with. They give great advice. The store is very cleaned and organized.

I will never shop at this location again! They redesigned the entire store and filled it with so many items that it makes for a miserable shopping experience as the aisles are so narrow that only one person can walk through at a time and when checking out the aisle is also so narrow that you can't get around the other people checking out! It was such a miserable experience that I will never shop at that location again!

We stopped in here during the recent holiday season. We normally go to Hobby Lobby but they are not open on Sundays. Michaels is a pretty standard craft store with all the nick nacks and items for crafts. The prices do seem competitive but I do not shop much at hobby stores. The staff were kind and we did not have to wait in line long. There were a few folks in line with coupons and flyers. Seems like they must have deals around the holidays and they do have a Michaels membership program. Overall the experience was short and concise. Not much to gripe about.

This location is always short-staffed; no one is available on the floor, with often only one register open for 5+ customers. The staff are not friendly, not helpful, and generally second-rate in comparison to other craft stores. I rarely write negative reviews, but years of repeated underwhelming experiences at this location have veered me towards the nearby JoAnn's where the employees are generally eager to help and, at the very least, are available and visible when needed. There is more product variety and efficient service at a Hobby Lobby or JoAnn Fabrics. Shopping for art and craft supplies should never put anyone in a bad mood, but if you want to experience that uncommon phenomenon, look no further than your local Orland Park Michael's.

Always liked Michael's...especially for all its kitschy little items strewn throughout the store. Usually when you need a nicknack for finishing off your decorating or anything related to frames and artsy stuff...this is the place. And if you follow their sales, they from time to time put special items (usually overruns and end of season stuff) on sale and you can really get a deal. I once went in looking for picture frames for a series of 16" by 20" photos I had...and I found they had already-constructed simple frames with glass for the correct size for $5 each...yep, just $5 each. I bought 18 of them and really scored a deal. So all to say I like Michaels and generally jump in when I need something just a bit different.
