Loved my experience here with Julie and definitely glad I chose to purchase shoes here instead of by going based on online reviews for different shoes. It turned out the shoes I had my eye on felt nothing like how I imagined. The custom fitting is so important and I wish I’d done this sooner! Julie found me a perfect pair of Brooks. Great selection and service!

The Human Race was recommended to me by a few of my friends. When I went there Gavin was so helpful in getting me set up with a couple of assessments that evaluated the way I walk and put pressure on my feet, size of my feet, etc. He was able to provide multiple brands and styles of shoes to help meet the specific needs of my feet and explain how they benefit me specifically. It was so helpful to have such an in-depth evaluation and someone who was so knowledgeable when explaining it. With no pressure to purchase at all, I ended up buying 2 pairs of Hokas and they have been doing wonders for me when I run and am at work! I used to have severe knee and hip pain at the end of the work day and now have none.

Me and my sister went to get new running shoes. I was just trying to get back out after breaking my foot and she is running a marathon and wanted a new good pair to train in. The service was excellent, the person who helped us analyzed our gait, foot shape and size, and our pressure map. We both tried on multiple pairs at the behest of the worker and found shoes that were great for us! They sold the shoes at a very reasonable price. I live about an hour away and plan to make the drive back the next time I need a new pair of shoes!

I am a healthcare employee who is on her feet over 12 hours a day. I went into this store not having any idea what to expect.Bill greeted me and was very knowledgeable about what I may need. They have many different technologies in store to help analyze your posture, pressure on your feet, and many shoe options that make it easy to find the perfect pair. Bill was patient and kind, a small friendly establishment.

More than just a place to buy running shoes! As a type 2 diabetic, foot comfort is becoming more important as each year passes. This, combined with constant lower back pain, was becoming a daily frustration for me. I met with the team at The Human Race. Awesome people! They took the time to listen, examine my feet and explain my limited options. I was introduced to a special tennis shoe that has helped perform wonders! My feet do not hurt and the discomfort in my lower back is improving. And hey, these shoes look good! Definitely not those Frankenstein stacks orthos prescribe (no offense). My advise to anyone ... no, to EVERYONE, is to stop in, talk to the team and see if they can help! They will treat you like family, hear your concerns and with professionalism and compassion they will make an effort! The team and their goals are most definitely here to serve "The Human Race"!

I've went to other running stores where there was no/horrible service but this family owned business blew my expectations out of the water. They had scanning equipment despite it not being a big store or big franchise. The service was top notch with pleasant, well informed, helpful staff. I got just what I needed without them trying to upsell. They are concerned with your experience and satisfaction. This will be my place from now on! Amanda was great!!!

What a great store! Julie was super helpful from the moment we walked in. I never thought I would get my brother into running shoes but it happened! The store has the technology and the knowledge that ensured my brother was in the right shoe. Julie explained their process and provided shoe recommendations based on the analysis. My son and I went to the store to purchase shoes for him for cross country. We were greeted with a smile and the staff was extremely knowledgeable. They fitted my son in a great shoe and the prices were reasonable. We’ll definitely be back!

Great store. Great staff. Great products. I have been buying my performance shoes from this store for 4 years. My wife started shopping there this year. The fitting process is unparalleled. We especially like the "Feetures" socks they sell. Their promotional events are really fun! Keep up the great work!

I broke my foot three years ago and have searched for good gym shoes for all that time. Recently The Human Race, 15148 S LaGrange Rd, Orland Park was recommended to me by a Clinician who ordered me new arch supports. Blessed was I to meet Mandy, She measured my feet on a computer system that measured and chose the right shoe for me, which was a shoe designed by “Brooke”. She worked diligently to find the proper fit. Today I am walking comfortably for the first time. Next time you need a good walking/running or simple relaxing shoe, go directly to “The Human Race”.

I was referred to The Human Race Sports store by Dr. Duane Brann in connection with treatment for bone spurs. Both Mandy and Julie were most accommodating and generous with their time and knowledge in assisting me to find just the right shoe to meet my needs. Although I was looking only for a walking shoe, they went to great lengths to find the most comfortable Hoka shoe to fit my orthotics and gait. They scanned my feet with Aetrex Technology to assure the perfect size and fit. Their patience and attention to detail were greatly appreciated, as I had never purchased custom-fit running shoes before and was a bit apprehensive. I can recommend this small business with a big heart to anyone seeking high quality merchandise and service from experienced, caring professionals.

I would highly recommend the Human Race for all your athletic footwear needs. Make sure you ask for Joe. He is so knowledgeable and to the point.
