If a zero would knock the overall score down I would give it without hesitation because never in my life have I been more embarrassed for myself, my bridesmaids and the so called "professionals" at the establishment. This was the second House of Brides that my bridesmaids and I have tried, and the first time was a horrible experience as a bride and we had hoped that it was a one off experience and scheduled an appointment at a different location. However, this experience was just as off putting as the first. The employees were cold, rude, and made us feel like we were not welcome by not only putting us in the corner, away from any other people in the store, and then shrugging off their limited sizes (which was so small only three of my bridesmaids could get into more than a single dress) attempting to promote their designers and their exclusivity as something that we needed to bend to instead of what it was: exclusion. Not to mention our consultant had made snide remarks about my bridesmaid hair colors which were blue and purple, asking multiple times if they would consider more natural colors to fit. It all came to a climax of body shaming when one of my girl's bodies was criticized and by the consultant who then laughed and tried to pass it off as a joke. We were there for maybe ten minutes before all but two of my bridesmaids were left sitting in their chairs while the others who could fit into the dresses continued to relieve attention and praise from the consultant. We were in that building less than 30 minutes and in that time I was flabbergasted, embarrassed and angry with how my girls and I were treated and have no desire or intention to go back to this or any other House of Brides location ever again.Over all it was evident they did not care about the potential sale that 6 bridesmaids would have brought to their business and I will sure that any other bride who asks me about my experience or the experience of my girl's will be aware of this treatment and my extremely high reccomendation that they try anywhere else but here.

I received a text saying I won a Free bridal robe, I made an appointment to look at veils and pick up the Free robe. When I arrived, I was greeted by a woman who said that I needed to have the text to get the Free gown, which they never told me, the store just said I need no appointment, I could just come in and pick up a robe. She then priceeded to show me the veils and was then showing me the veils that were "on sale" saying I might find my veil here...shebsaid I was Free to look around at veils, I was looking at dresses to reference a color of a dress I purchased at another bridal shop, she then came back to check up on me and asked if that was my dress, when I said I was using it for color comparison, she asked where I got my dress, when I told her, she said o that's an expensive place, we have better dresses here at a more reasonable price. When I was asking her if they have veils that have designs all the way around, she then said well ypu want your dress to shine thru, and I said yes, bit I also want a beautiful veil that accents my dress and hair. She then said, "well, it's just a dress" which hit a nerve because a wedding dress is MORE THAN JUST A DRESS! At this point t I was just mad and wanted to leave ASAP, needless to say I didn't even stop to see the robes and walked out. Thank you for your rudeness, I'm glad I didn't get anything from here

I was slack jawed with how rude the staff was, particularly whoever answers the phone.Chicagoland has SO MANY bridal studios and even the surrounding states have so many options less than 3 hours from the city. DO NOT GO HERE. The people are too rude for something that is supposed to be so special, or at the very least is taking an extreme amount of dedication & having a large impact on your life. Customer service is hard, but they have no reason to be so rude and dismissive. I won a free robe from a raffle @ the IL Bridal Show. I booked an appt online. No call back or confirmation. I called to confirm the appt a week later & I wasn’t in their system. During the call the person was rude: she kept interrupting me, she asked if I was even a Chicago resident since I didn’t have a Chicago phone # (even though I had to put my address in the raffle form), seemed to have no recollection of the raffle, & had to ask my name 3 different times during the 10 min call, etc. I then called back 10-15 min later to add a note to my appt & they really don’t want to give that robe away because they are making it extremely difficult to get. The whole time I’m trying to be patient & happy because I just had this great luck. I then get a call less than 20 min later to confirm my appt that I had just booked & the woman on the call had no memory of our prior conversations & tried to gaslight me that I had talked to someone else. It was the same voice.

I wish I could give this place 0 stars. The absolute worst. Unfortunately a few years ago my wedding was canceled, yet this place had the audacity to call me a month after my wedding would have been to tell me my dress came in. When I asked for a refund due to my circumstance, even after providing a receipt that my wedding date was a month before the dress came, they never compensated me or accommodated me at all. They even lied and claimed they tried calling me a few weeks earlier. When I provided screenshots of my phone history with no call from them, they then tried saying they actually called my mom, which I proved they never did. Had my wedding proceeded, I would have been without a dress. They even lost my mothers dress back in the 90’s.. I should have known better from the start. I don’t understand how they’re still open.

House of brides was the third and final bridal shop I visited, the other shops selection had me worried I was going to have to settle for a dress I didn’t love.I was paired with Christine who wasprofessional, respectful and so considerate throughout the entire process. She was aware of my needs as a bride and offered lots of insightful guidance. There was no pressure or personal opinions. It was about what I wanted. The selection was much bigger than what I had experienced elsewhere and that was lovely because you want to see a lot of dresses to make sure you’re not missing out on what could be the one! I went there with a certain dress in mind but while browsing I found one that I fell in love with that looked nothing like what I had expected to pick. I was able to stay within my budget and that’s including the alterations to the gown and accessories. I would hands-down recommend this bridal shop. Christine‘s measurements were so well taken that when the dress arrived, it fit like a glove! However, Ruth was my seamstress and she put in the bussel and a few minor adjustments to ensure it laid perfectly.Thank you Christine, Ruth and house of brides! Will add photos after the big day 10/14!

Completely UNPROFESSIONAL, rude staff, no accountability or compassion. I have been into this store multiple times with the same experience, the moment you set foot into the building you are either greeted with a half a** hello or nothing at all because there is no one at the front desk. It is almost as if you are bothering them when coming in, even with a scheduled appointment! The manager (Joanne) has the worst attitude of all! She takes no accountability for her staff or store location when the WRONG veil (in my case) was ordered. Instead she argued with me that this was the veil I purchased until I showed a picture proving it was not! Besides TERRIBLE management, the seamstress not only BODY SHAMED me (which yet again Joanne the manager denies even though she was NOT present during the alteration) but she spoke poorly about my venue due to her recent experience there for a co-workers wedding. A wedding day is suppose to be one of the most exciting days of a brides life, the stress we are already under while planning and preparing is enough, to feel put down from staff/store where my dress was purchased from is hurtful and wrong. No sincere apology or genuine "don't worry, let me fix this for you" was offered. I HIGHLY advise any bride who is looking for that fun/special/magical experience NOT go to House of Brides Orland Park.

We took our daughter to house of brides in July of 2022. She found her dress. They said the dress had just arrived in store the day before. The dress fit like a glove right off the rack. Was a great experience. They took her measurements, we paid and left happy. We paid off the dress in the beginning of 2023. Today we went to have her try on her dress and take it home. It was several sizes too small. My daughter was told maybe she gained weight. She had not. They then said they could alter it and make it a corset back instead. Not what she wantedBut it would cost to alter it.Not happy. The associate went to get a woman named Diane who was the person who had helped our first day there. Then they went and retrieved the initial paperwork and remeasured our daughter. Her measurement were the same as the first day, except a half inch smaller around the waist. The dress is 8-10 inches too small, was not hemmed to her height either. Then back peddling began and it was blamed on the designer. They said they could order it in a bigger size. A bigger size wasn't needed the right size that we ordered was needed. However they didn't know if it would be here in time. She is to be married next month. After all the fast talking our daughter decided that we would take it with us and I would do the altering myself for her. When I told them I would do the alterations and that I was a seamstress...let's just say I was made to feel as If I was not one who could do that. After another moment of being left alone, they came back and said that they could refund us the money it would cost to alter the dress. In all honesty as a business owner myself, the whole price should have been refunded because of the time frame, but I digress.A bride should never have to have this memorable moment ruined because of negligence. We were refunded $100.00 on $2,000.00+ unaltered wrong sized dress. At that moment I just wanted to get our daughter out of there before she either lost her cool or broke into tears.Unfortunately we did not read reviews before going and in hindsight we should have.It seems this is a regular occurrence. The dress she tried on...we were told was sold off the rack. We were not given that option. She will still be beautiful regardless because she is beautiful and I will make sure the dress enhances that beauty. If the dress fits you off the rack. Take it home that day. Don't wait a year for the wrong dress to come in from there.I was extremely upset and frustrated as a mother would be seeing the heartbreak on my daughters face and seeing her self esteem take a hit because she was told she had gained weight when she actually went down a half size.I really hope this establishment gets its self righted. Because every bride, EVERY BRIDE deserves better.I pray for their staff, for I fear this is going to continue, and not every mother can take a mess to success.

These people are the most rudest, ignorant, unattentive people I've ever met. DIANA IS A HORRIBLE PERSON WHOM I BELIEVE IS RACIST! I CANNOT BELIEVE THEY ALLOW HER BEHAVIOR! Don't go here. You'll be so upset, they treat you horrible. Talk down to you especially if you're black. They upset the bride her bridesmaids. They're just terrible terrible people and Diana needs to not be working anywhere with her disgusting behavior and rudeness. An old lady with a bad attitude that acts like she don't like black people. I wish I can give it a -10. I'm filing a BBB COMPLAINT!

This is the worse place ever. The people that works there are rude, ignorant, unattentive and disgusting. Diana should be terminated, she's an old bitter woman that displayed horrible customer service and was very belittling towards me and the bride. She was listening in on a private called and addressed me about the call, I was in shock. You barely can get help. Several times trying on my dress I had to come out and look for her and she was rude and rushed me when she did come assist. I'M WARNING YOU DO NOT GO HERE! I had a feeling Diana doesn't care for black people as she treated me like she was disgusted.

I brought my now sister in law to the house of brides literally 2 months before her wedding in need of a dress!? The service was exceptional! They were sooooooo patient and even stayed past store hours briefly, trying on dresses and not making her feel rushed! We had no time to order, but they had plenty of"off the rack" dresses at a reasonable price. She lucked up and found the perfect dress that suited her for a theocratic wedding. Bravo ?? house of brides ?♂

Read the reviews - I wish I did. Went in today to pick up my dress that I chose June of 2022. The dress was paid for by January 2023 and arrived in store this May. I went to try on and take home the dress today and to my surprise, it was the wrong color... The saleswoman insisted that it was an error made by the designer, and not by the store. My wedding is in 100 days and my only options are to hope the designer from overseas can make and ship a corrected dress before my wedding date, wear the dress that is NOT what I paid for, or to pick a dress "off the rack" that is similar to my original dress...

My sister picked out her wedding dress June 5th, 2022. The dress came in 11 months later and when going to try it on, it was the wrong color and had sleeves, the dress she tried on did not have sleeves, she did not want sleeves. Joan blamed the issue on the designer but after reading google and yelp reviews, receiving your dress in the wrong color and/or size happens very often here. While on the phone with Joan, I said "I read reviews and it seems as though this problem has occurred multiple times, I can't imagine all the designers let this happen" and she responded with "I don't know what reviews you are reading because this never happens". Go read all their google and yelp reviews, you will be disappointed. DO NOT GO HERE

0 stars. DO NOT GO HERE. My sister went to try on her wedding dress when it came in and it was the wrong color. Joan blamed it on the designer, but after reading all of their google and yelp reviews, brides and bridesmaids receiving their dresses in the wrong color and/or size happens often here, it clearly is not multiple designers consistently messing up people's dresses, it is house of brides. I mentioned these reviews to Joan and her response was "I'm not sure what reviews you are reading because this never happens". Not to mention that their solution to this was to start looking for a new dress for her. Beyond unprofessional and inconsiderate, their priority should be to get her the dress she fell in love with, not find her a new one. Disgusting behavior.
