I only came to this clinic for boarding because our regular place was booked.
We were required to make an appointment with the doctor and bring all vaccination records, which we did.
Upon arrival, I noticed the waiting area was filled with small dogs, making a lot of noise. My dog is a big boy, 88-pound pit bull mix, he is a little over a year old. Knowing that my dog gets too excited around other dogs, I made the responsible choice to leave him outside with my friend, while I checked in to avoid any disruption or discomfort for the other owners.
It became clear that LARGER BREEDS ARE NOT WELCOME at this clinic. We were there only for a routine check-up, which was necessary for booking a four-day boarding stay. When the veterinarian entered the room, she gave the immediate impression that she was disinterested and, quite frankly, VERY UNCOMFORTABLE around my dog. She referenced notes from a previous clinic that mentioned my dog doesn’t enjoy having his nails trimmed and isn’t socialized to play with other dogs. However, nowhere in those notes was there any indication of aggression or incidents of harm to staff or others.
During the visit, my dog was his usual curious self, excited and sniffing around but never growling, barking, or showing signs of aggression. The vet reluctantly extended her hand for him to sniff but quickly snatched it back when he got close, making my dog nervous. Right after this, she told me that they couldn’t board him because "HE MIGHT BE AGGRESSIVE" and mentioned that they have high school students working there, as if my dog posed an inherent danger. She then walked out of the exam room, ending the appointment.
I was shocked and hurt by this blatant prejudice. My dog has been to other clinics where he’s been treated with care and respect. At our regular clinic, the doctor sat on the floor to greet my dog and he kisses her on the face, he gives kisses to all the staff at our regular clinic! but here, it seemed that judgments were made based solely on his size and breed. The lack of professionalism and fairness is deeply concerning, and I cannot recommend this clinic to other pet owners, particularly those with larger dogs.

The place is just dull, the color of the place, the staff are not inviting, reaching the place over the phone is challenging, this place just feels like taking care of the basics not for serious issues or concerns. Will be looking for something else here soon.

Amazing! Wonderful people, so kind and welcoming. And they don't rip you off with prices. They're honest and upfront.

The man who runs this practice Mr. Lantow has this place unorganized and almost impossible to get in contact with. My new vet has an app to do ANYTHING.
I took my cat here and Miss Rose could not handle a cat who has never hissed or scratched anyone. The people who work here clearly don’t love animals at all and I wouldn’t recommend it at all.
The prices are also ridiculous for the unprofessional work being done there.
I recommend taking your pets to Flossmoor Animal Hospital. The doctors are very loving and have easy access to contacting them. The price was better too.
Take your pets far far from Animal Medical Center!!!!

I have been coming here for over 15 years with all my dogs. After our last experience with Dr. Rose we are done., She is in the wrong profession. I cant get over how ignorant can a Dr. be ??? We came in with our 2 dogs and when she started checking my 1) dog the other dog started crying and howling and barking he didn’t like that someone was touching his brother…. She says “ what is the matter with him??? I have never seen this! Why is he acting like this?”
Are you serious??? Your the vet !!! You dont know how to remain calm when a dog gets excited.
Then when she took the dog in the back which she didn’t talk to him as she pulled him in the back or ease or reassure him … no she just pulls him and he ends up wacking his face in the door. I was so disgusted with her i can’t describe it. I also am not that happy with most of the girls at the front desk. For the prices you pay they need to improve and get rid of that Dr.Rose before they loose more business and long time clients.

I don’t think they do much actual treating of animals here. I just always felt like they were trying to sell me shots and medicines that my pet didn’t need. Looking for a better vet if anyone has recommendations.

They just push shots and pills for your dog and don’t really care about treating them.
This is also the most unprofessional practice I’ve ever dealt with. There’s no text reminders for appointments. They don’t email you test result. If you call their front desk 10 times you might get through once.
I have a dog with severe anxiety and he needs to be sedated to be groomed. They made me spend $500 on shots and tests just to set his grooming appointment, which I had to wait two months for. When I arrived for that appointment they said the groomer wasn’t there and offered me another slot TWO MONTHS from now.
So they basically just dangled this service in front of me to get me to buy ridiculous shots for my dog (who gives their dog a flu shot?) and then refused to provide the service. There aren’t too many places that provide this service but I have to look elsewhere because I can’t stand this is lace anymore.

If you take your dog here for an ear hair pluck, you need to check your dog’s ears before you leave.
My dog’s ears were bleeding right after he got his ears done, and this isn’t the first time this has happened. The receptionist would not give me the name of the technician that did his ears (she said she did not know who did his ears), and when I asked for the manager she claimed that the person wasn’t there today.
These past employees were really good, however, these newer workers seem to be terrified of animals despite the fact that they work at a vet. , and I will not be returning with my dog.

I wouldn't recommend bringing your pet here if they refuse to get out of their crate or are a bit difficult to handle. My cat gets scared at the vet and won't come out the crate so you have to grab her out of it but they wouldn't even try to grab her. When i brought her to get her nails done they wouldn't do them unless I paid $300 to gas her which is ridiculous when they could've just wrapped her in a towel like my new vet clinic does. They have no patience. My cat isn't even aggressive she just gets scared, sometimes growls and squirms out of the vets hands which ends with a scratch if you don't handle her with a towel. They wouldn't even put her back in her crate and asked me to. Once they even wanted me to bring my cat into the gas room when they could've brought her in the crate. They tried to put her on calming medication before the visits but it didn't work well. Once they even refused to cut her nails because she was squirming & being "aggressive". My cat has also got fleas from this clinic, I know this because she's an indoor cat and I noticed fleas the day after we took her to the vet. I wonder what this place does with big, aggressive dogs since they can't handle a 10 pound cat. My new vet is so sweet to my baby, he's very patient with her and takes her out the crate with a towel, when she starts to growl he stops doing what he's doing and pets her to calm her down then tries again 5/10 minutes later. He is very patient with her and easily cuts her nails, gives her a thorough exam & her shots without the need to drug her. He also puts her back in her crate when we are finished and if she starts to growl or squirm he pets her and tries again a few minutes later. I do not recommend this place.

I normally would give a 10 star review if I could. Unfortunately not anymore. I've been going to this office for over 20 years and would absolutely recommend any of the Veterinarians for the Exception of Dr ROSE ! Luckily I've only had the displeasure of dealing with her on 3 occasions.
She is rude, condescending and self absorbed. She will treat you like an idiot for asking a reasonable question if not shame you for asking, then turn around and contradict her own words and ridiculous advice. I could go on to explain the experience but not one person cared both times I expressed the displease and unprofessional experiences I've had with her. The most recent encounter was 4/1/24. She did absolutely nothing to help my animal , shamed my daughter for asking a simple question and had the absolute NERVE to charge her over $60 to experience her unprofessional and abusive behavior ! She was so unprofessional that my daughter left. I called and Requested for the second time that it be put in ALL of my pets records that she is not to EVER be given the opportunity to manhandle any of my pets. It was unknown to me that she would be the one seeing my animal or I would have asked for someone else. I asked upon my second experience with her to have this put on my records and apparently it went ignored. I called and demanded yesterday, once again, that this be noted. I also asked for a refund and for this to be brought to the attention of Dr Lantow as the owner and would like a credit for my visit. I was told there would be no guarantee that would happen! As of today my complaint and request has fallen on deaf ears. I would have at least expected for my request to be followed up on but unfortunately it hasn't. I have referred many people to go there over the years but even I at this point am considering going elsewhere.

My Boston Terrier Milo is a regular here! The kennel costs are low and manageable for me with my work travel. It gives me peace knowing when I’m away he is at his vet! They are very competent and competitively priced. The only downside is they are always busy!!! I want them all to myself ❤️
