Stayed for 7 days, and my room was not cleaned or served. I was staying on a weeks rent for $400.00 a week . I was working and treated like a 2nd class citizen.

This rating is for a room in this historic old hotel.
The bed is worn out and swaybacked. A picture is attached. It’s a cheap mattress and my guess is that was overdue for replacement 20 or 30 years ago. So replace it already.
We were charged $105 for the privilege of trying to sleep on it. It is a swaybacked thing - like trying to sleep in a hammock
The room itself is large enough. It looks clean.
This is an historic place with hot springs bath and a restaurant.
It has an average 4.2 rating.
That can’t be for the rooms though.
We tried it because it was off the freeway - which we like - and we had been on the road for 12 hours. We hoped for a good nights rest in a quaint old hotel.
Well, at least it’s quaint.
Update: I actually did sleep well after driving for 12 hours towing a trailer. So did my wife.
A good thing about this place is its distance from the freeway.
No noise reached us.
So, the swaybacked bed did not ruin our rest.
It did, however, prevent us from trying the restaurant. We figured it would be similarly careless of something basic to good service.
Rooms: The bed is awful.

I wanted to like the hotel because I had booked for two nights and for massages the next day but this is what ended up happening. I Was only refunded $65 when my bill was $351 for the two nights and we only stayed one night. ( we did not stay for our massages or mineral baths as we thought they would be as run down and disgusting as the rest of the hotel and to just save money as we had already paid so much for horrible accommodations)
Was called the morning of my stay to be told that the room I had reserved was no longer available. The room had water coming in from the ceiling because of all the rain. The first room that they tried to give us (76) smelled strongly of cigarettes. There were mold stains on the ceiling and dead roaches on the floor. The second room they gave us (71) smelled better but still mold in the bathroom, and stains on the sheets. The bed and pillows were sooo uncomfortable that we ended up only staying one night. I’m so happy I didn’t see any bed bugs as other people have stated but I also didn’t look super hard. Everything we brought with us went straight into the wash when we got home.
The “heated” pool felt nice but was obviously falling apart along with the rest of the hotel. There were buckets to catch the rain water coming from the ceiling. Soft spots in the floor that felt like a heavier person could fall through (mind you this is on the second floor) wall paper coming off the walls. Stains on the carpet throughout and in the boiler room restaurant there were literal slug/snail trails all across the carpet. You would think with how much they rip people off with prices that they would actually fix the hotel up so people would want to come back again.
The food was good though, Brittany and Mason were the only saving grace of this hotel. Very kind and attentive while serving us dinner. We went to breakfast and there were three people working. Our food was good and so was the service but I felt bad for the other table being waited on. They brought out multiple wrong dishes but I could hear them say they didn’t care they just wanted to eat so they took food they didn’t even ask for.
In short I would never recommend anyone to come here and my wife and I will never be back.
Rooms: Fit for a prisoner or someone from a third world country.
Safety: I feel like the health board should come and shut them down.

I really wanted to like this place, and I do love the staff!!
However. This is the most run-down lodging I've ever visited. The owner seriously needs to re-invest in the HOTEL. No amount of promotions or gimmicks is going to fix the under staffing (the chef called out sick and there was no backup, so we didn't get our champagne and hors-d'œuvres at check in). The masseuse called out sick so our 60 minute couples massage was down graded to 25 minutes back to back.
Our spa attendant was also pulling double duty cleaning the rooms... There are piles of cigarette butts right outside the rooms. All the spa bathrooms have their doors propped open by either gallon jugs or some other random object.
The rooms themselves are also shambles. Metal food trays as plant planter dishes looks so trashy and meth-house chic.
Peeling paint everywhere, 50 year old carpet coming up and fraying, and like many have posted about room #78, our room #61 also had bed bugs. We elected to stay at a different hotel and just show up for the spa treatments. We received no voucher or anything for the huge inconvenience of finding last minute accommodations. The pool deck looks like its best days are behind it.
The staff are very pleasant and courteous, the bath and massage was very enjoyable. Just do not risk bringing bed bugs back to your house. If two rooms on different floors have it, the whole place has them. Our room was right by the pool and had them. #78 is actually on the second floor facing the parking. The night desk lady took pictures, saw them move with her own eyes too, and even divulged that in the last few months she's started working there they've had to call pest control three times already. The entire place needs to be gutted and fumigated.
The town has nothing to do, we spent most of our time in St. Louis.

Thank you to Mike, Lena, Kathy, Brittany, Sheri, Karen and staff for taking such good care of us this weekend! My husband and I spent our five year anniversary here and had such a wonderful stay. The mineral baths are so relaxing, the food was delicious, and the hotel was quirky and charming. The staff was very accommodating and friendly and went out of their way to ensure we had a good anniversary! We immensely enjoyed our stay and hope to make it back again some day soon!

My husband and I came here looking to spend two nights and to try their spa services. We really tried to like this place. We arrived late and after a mix up was given a "better" different room and given keys to room #78. We pretty much went to make the bed the next morning we found bed bugs!!
We had no bites far as we could tell, but found bed bugs ranging from large to very small, walking across the pillows and headboard area. The mattress was completely stained brown from what looks like a big waterleak. We left. With finding the bed bugs in all stages of life, the management has to know about this parasite problem. After going deep into their reviews, we found other reviews from 3 years ago that stated they were bitten by bed bugs in room #78. Three years prior! Gross! Management knows all about their critter problems but not concerned. That place could be a real gem but in great need of maintenance, upgrades and love.

What an awesome, quirky place. Definitely not your cookie-cutter hotel. Built around a mineral spa, the hotel is delightful, clean, inexpensive and well-appointed with fridges, microwaves, an indoor pool, a restaurant and 2 bars. The locals and staff are interesting and the service was excellent. Very nice staff. Heard that it just sold to a new owner but everyone said he is a nice guy. Thanks for a fun time.

Horrible horrible staff and the room had no ac the first two nights after waiting bc they said they would look at it. Kids were treated rudely by the staff and the new lady working was helpful but the morning lady was very rude and short like I was unwelcomed. Also no wifi in sec room and the morning lady KAREN made me show proof of past two prior nights and accused me of not paying. I still got another night after she insisted I keep the key til I knew if I was. The next day I stated I may stay again and was denied a late check out and was KAREN stated it was bc she didn't know I'd stay for certain. Omg what a way to get me to not want to stay again. Geeze!
The story gets worse, but it's my reality. The woman come to the pool then asked why I was still there, she thought I checked out, I told her I was bc she made me feel unwelcomed, she stated the owner would get upset if she knew I was there still swimming awaiting my ride (that came five mins) and I could leave her premises and await my ride and she continues to be rude and make me want to leave the pool (I paid for) and we ended up across the street at a church! My daughter and I were both forced to feel like we should leave due to being honest about why we chose to not rent another room from her.. I will upload video of this occurring for proof. Please don't use your hard earned money to feel so unwelcomed and displaced and hopeless of mattering in this hotel. Shocked, devastating, I been coming since I was a young child. Never will I return, nor any other 15 family members who frequent the place.

In the past month while staying with you guys, my mom's spent almost a grand on just rooms. We stayed last night and when we asked for a late check out today the front desk woman said "we can't do what we did yesterday, I knew you were going to get another room yesterday" and said something to the matter of needing to clean the room. We were planning on getting another room tonight for the 4th consecutive day. We also had 2 family members who were going to come up and rent rooms too. My mom's raised me in hotels, she worked for comfort inn for a good while. I know how to leave a hotel room. Today I took it upon myself to take the trash out. You guys are not even a big corporate hotel, you need to seriously focus on retraining whoever is on the front desk this morning of June 29, 2024. All we asked was for a 1 pm check out and that we were planning to stay again. We had talked to the wonderful woman working last night about staying again tonight she was so sweet, she asked us to stop by and say hi tonight. We don't want to return nor urge family to drive from arnold, de soto, and grafton, to okawville for horrible customer service. It's not like we live in town and can go home till we're ready for another room per your guys' needs.
Noteworthy details: As a family who's been coming here for more than 30 years, we're about fed up with the customer service or lack thereof. Consistency would be amazing.

We had dinner after our Corvette meeting there. It was delicious and reasonably priced.
Food and drinks: The scallops were delicious. The fried chicken looked amazing.

This is an old historic hotel about an hour and a half from my home. We were up for a drive and chose to go there specifically. It has a bar/restaurant in it called the Boiler Room. I have never stayed in the rooms so won't talk about them. But in the past, I've enjoyed the fried chicken in the restaurant. On this visit I apparently got a new waitress who I asked three times for lemon for my iced tea. My two friends got their food delivered but I didn't get mine and had to wait at least another five minutes for it. Since we generally wait for everyone's food to arrive, that meant their food was cold by the time mine arrived. Another waitress finally brought mine out after I waived her down from behind the bar. The chicken was not as good as it has been in the past and my salad had lots of brown spots on the lettuce, as it was old. I never did see the first waitress again so I'm not sure what happened to her. I think I'm done with this place. There's lots of places to choose from and many much closer to home.
Food and drinks: My review includes all I need to say.

Cute old school hotel with a restaurant inside! Shower was EXTREMELY short for me as a tall person but other than that it was great with friendly staff!
