Awesome several months of delay in starting work, we received our Stingray back, after nearly $25,000 in payments, with several significant problems. First, we noted that our custom car cover was missing, and could not be found. When we got it back, it was clear that it had been used elsewhere in the shop and was oil-stained in several places. Our brand new custom floor mats were also oil stained in several places. The paint had not been finished and buffed, and in some cases the paint was buffed straight through, scuffing the finish. Our wheel trim rings were dented in several places. The original brake reservoirs had been replaced with an aftermarket, and the brand new steering control valve failed, leaking fluid between every drive. So much so that it nearly leaked every drop out of the system. We brought the vehicle back several times, in an effort to resolve these issues amicably. The owner, Tim Thorpe, ultimately admitted the paint couldn't be fixed, blamed his parts supplier and refused to fix these issues.Services: Steering & suspension repair

Greg at Thorps initially did a very satisfactory repair on the plastic bed of my 2002 Chevy Step Side Pick Up costing $300. We talked further about repairing a rust spot on the front fender and rear tailgate pan and he said the total ought to be $500 to $600. I brought the vehicle back giving them a month to work on it on their time as I was having a knee replaced. Greg said they would call me with an estimate. I did not get a call with estimate so two weeks after surgery I called and spoke to Tim the owner. He said Greg had quit smoking and had been rattled but he would call me. A week later, 3 weeks, I still had not heard anything so I visited the shop. The repairs were reportedly completed and Tim came up with an invoice for $1568! I argued that I had never received the estimate prior to the work as promised and the least he would accept was $1300 cash! I had another written estimate from another shop to replace the front fender and repair the rear pan for $1100 so obviously I would have not approved this work! Now after I get the vehicle home and look more closely in the light, the fender has run mark and sanding marks in the front by the headlight and between the wheel and door. The rear pan is misaligned setting in from the side fenders and is to high. When I opened the tailgate it is being pushed up by the pan and the tailgate came off in my hands! The tailgate is getting scratched up everytime I open the tailgate from the pan being high below. Now that I realize the problem I am going to attempt to realign this myself. I don't know what caused Thorps from being completely pleasing on my first repair and totally dissatisfactory and taking advantage of me in the second?
