I didn’t know they stopped processing passport applications after 3:30pm. I arrived at 3:58pm and was told they stopped already. I stayed calm and asked politely if it was still possible to process my application anyways after explaining how dire my situation was and the young woman decided to process my application because she was still at her desk (a little sassy but, I was late after all)She then explained in detail how the process works and told me exactly how I’d receive all my documents in a professional and helpful manner. She was happy to repeat any part I didn’t understand as the process is quite odd as you send over your original birth certificate along with a check and leave with nothing after doing so which is a little unnerving.Alas, this all occurred on 9/27/23. It is now 10/30/23 and I just received my passport! (I paid extra to expedite my application)Thank you to that young woman for putting in the extra effort for me. It was seriously appreciated.

I went here on 2 different occasions in regards to a package that I needed help locating. The first time I went the clerk took my information and stated that either her or the manager would contact me the next day and no one did. I went the second time a different clerk was there with the worst attitude and I ask to speak with the manager. Conny the manager came out gathered the same information the previous clerk did and stated for me to follow up with her the next day. The next day I followed up and she stated she will call me back I have not heard anything from her this is the most unprofessional experience I've encountered with a post office. I will never visit this location and the near future. Need more customer friendly workers and a professional manager.

I don't usually receive my weekly news magazine. Maybe once or twice a month. I reported the problem to the Oak Park Post Office but no change.

I REALLY Dread visiting this location for any business…….., each time they got attitude, for no reason. I went there on 08/24/2023 looking for my package that said was delivered to my house, but wasn’t there. The female at the desk with the braids blatantly lied to my face. She said there was no tracking available, which was a lie. She said the UPS delivered it not USP , LIES!!! When I questioned her, she said it may be here but we’re too busy to go check. WHAT!! Rude and it was about 3 people waited before me in line and no one was at the service desk for a few minutes. She came out with an attitude and never apologize for us waiting. She had a pure “I don’t give a care about this job attitude”. They need to get the memo. Everybody is replaceable, even the postal workers. I hope they drain the whole swamp at this LAKE ST. Location in Oak park.

Beautiful building, but service is questionable. The attendant was rude and on her cell phone the entire time. She should learn how to keep her attitude at home and not bring it to work.

I popped into this building before touring Unity Temple and was wowed at how stunning this post office is. I cannot believe that this stunning art deco building is simply used for mail.

My package was shipped to an entire different address, even though, I put the correct address on there. No one was remorseful, she insisted my customer gave me the incorrect address when a rep from the 1-800 number located the package and said it was addressed correctly, and the clerk at the post office dropped the ball. Not to mention as of recently items were messing from another customer's package. I'm just in awe at the audacity and unprofessionalism, you can't ship a package correctly but you have time to open packages and steal.

People who are at the service desk here deliberately close the location early It's usually around 15-30 minutes before closing. They will hound, harass, and lie to the customers to get them to leave who simply want to be served during regular business hours. Normally, I'd regard that behavior as devious, lazy, and cruel, but I think here it's worse, because these individuals are aggressive about this behavior. I think it's fair to characterize them as mentally unstable, truly. If I have no option, I go here. I've learned to ignore the people who pose as staff, paid to work, but who won't. Being courteous hasn't worked. So, I direct them to do what I want them to do and repeat it as though I'm speaking to someone who is hard of hearing. They will complain. I ask for the manager. They'll complain more. When I ask for their names, they'll ask me to give them mine first. They'll give me false names, different names, and point to the other staff to say that "that one" is the manager, which is also false. Eventually, someone who may be a manager will arrive and get done what I've needed to get done, while the individuals posing as employees take their complaints about me to the red zone. The other Oak Park location has staff who are the opposite of this crew. Go there, if you can.

I went to mail a package to Alaska last week and I asked clerk No. 15 to check the Zip and she said it was good, but it still didn't feel right, so I asked again and she said it was good. But it was not. So the package went to another post office in Alaska and I had to follow the package til it got there and then called and a much kinder clerk in Barrow, Alaska, got it rerouted to the right town.I have the feeling this clerk just likes to mess with you and then go into the break room and brag about how they screwed a customer.I'm sure I'm not alone. And in every other PO I've been to the passport office is in a separate room so you don't have the kids having fits about having their photo taken while you're in line. I go into the post office and look how it's run and every time wonder why?Like Christmas time when ALLL of the outside mailboxes were so full you couldn't put even one envelope in. I had to go in and tell them they needed to be emptied. I knocked on the postmaster's door and a woman nearby said, haughtily and not pleasantly, "How may I help you?" I told her and she didn't say thank you or "I'll get that fixed " -- nothing. So I give this PO a nothingburger.

Gotta give them some love because I feel like people only write reviews when they have a negative experience…I went in the day after a holiday, got in at 8:08, waited in line for a bit and was out the door by 8:15. Everyone working there was nice and mailing my package was easy and efficient. (don’t use the self service kiosk though, I don’t think it ever works)

Still missing important documents in my mailbox over 2 months now. Lack of concern for your mail. The mail carriers I do not trust them period! Needs a dramatic change!

After reading some of the reviews I was a bit timid, however, they were able to help me with my package issues. Line moved fast, and staff was very helpful and friendly!

The women working there have always been polite and kind to me. They try to move through the line as quickly as possible, but sometimes people with passport questions take up a lot of time. The only issue I had is one day they couldn’t deliver packages and left a note saying that no one was home to receive the package and to pick it up at the post office, but when I got there they said they were delivering those packages that day. I guess whoever left those notes wasn’t supposed to. The people working here are nicer than other locations in IL that I have been to.
