I go on Saturday mornings when they are open for 2-3 hours instead of Lake Street.
There is never a line and things ship quickly
Lake Street is way worse. All the negative reviews are from serial complainers

TERRIBLE service… I’m surprised they are still opened. This is an absolute disgrace to be a federal facility. Always utterly disappointed ???

Very much a "roll of the dice" experience at this location - there's two workers at the counter in particular who are both very cordial, helpful and polite. Unfortunately I don't know their names and can't applaud them publicly. Otherwise it's luck of the draw if it isn't one of these two - my unfortunate experience with any other workers here is pretty much that I'm greatly inconveniencing them by expecting them TO DO THEIR JOB. I mean I get it - it's the post office, and so in some cases you're not going to get the brightest and best that humanity has to offer -- and sorry to put it that way, but just look at many of the other reviews here. Go-getters and eager-to-please, socially adept types aren't always going to be the caliber of employees drawn to the post office - sadly, you can and will find yourself having to deal with people who leave you thinking "okay, yeah, no wonder you work at the post office". Let's just say that this particular post office has no shortage of workers who clearly weren't at the head of their class in school and who clearly do juuuuuuust less than the bare minimum to keep their paycheck coming every two weeks.

The post office at 1116 is my go to post office. I don't live in Oak Park but go there for the helpful staff and quick service.

Their delivery is always like this?And I don't know why they don't use mailboxes.Sometimes they comes to my house at 8 o'clock at night...of course I lock the door!!And I lost bank checks etc………

I love the new employees here. Very knowledgeable, friendly, efficient. The wait times these days are quite short. The interior could use some work, although they did have the front door repaired.

DO NOT drop off packages and checks at the blue collection boxes if you live in this area. Always ask for a receipt! As someone mentioned earlier in the reviews, postal workers steal packages/mails that get dropped off and claim they never got it at this location. Also make sure to file a report with USPIS.gov and uspsoig.gov.

"Lost" a package that I dropped off at a mailbox outside this location. They said they never got it. One lady I met at this post office told me she used to work at this location and workers steal packages that get dropped off at the blue mail boxes.
