Honest, friendly, and quick service on 2 vehicles we brought by. Price came in under what we expected for all repairs. Done in less than a day. Will be back.
Update 8/14/24: Another great experience as my car needed a tire fix after running over a screw which was causing air to leak. Brought it in about 15 minutes before they closed, it was ready the next day less than an hour after they opened. Same great experience with pricing. Thanks again.

Very great and knowledgeable! Took my car for the 60k mile service. They gave me the price for that ahead of time. Any other issues that they found were explained in detail and they broke down the cost for me. Very wonderful and my car is running wonderfully. I'll be back for sure.

I was recommended by my cousin here because I had an oil at temp alarm for a CVT transmission and was getting quotes between $8500 to $11,000. Tyler was able to give me an excellent price quote which I ended up not having to spend because they found the root cause which was not a failed transmission but a component fuse,
They also checked and repaired all the other things I requested at a competitive price point and were communicative about every thing without me having to be the one to follow up. I also received a free SiriusXM 6 months trial because they noticed I did not have a current subscription.

YOUNG WOMEN AND NON-MECHANICALLY INCLINED INDIVIDUALS BEWARE!!!
I thought that this would be a trustworthy shop due to its good reviews and the fact that one of its co-owners is a fellow woman, however I was taken advantage of and overcharged when my vehicle had an ignition coil failure.
I was charged $177 per Delphi ignition coil (part number GN10370) for a grand total of $711 for four coils when a set of four of these coils can go for between $156 to $300. Additionally, after consulting with other mechanics they said that all four of my coils likely hadn't failed because my car was still able to run. They also said that only the failed coil(s) needed to be replaced.
Stan never informed me of how many of my coils had failed. He only told me that the stuttering of my car was an ignition coil issue and that the ones currently in my car were cheap and should be replaced. As someone who is unfamiliar with car mechanics, Our Planet Auto took advantage of my naivety to egregiously overcharge me for parts they knew I was likely to be unfamiliar with. They also charged me an environmental charge for a fix that didn't involve fluid changes as well.
All in all for a business that is co-owned by a woman I can't in good faith recommend Our Planet Auto as a business to send your daughters, sisters, or mothers to after my experience with them.
Yes they are friendly, yes they quick, but know that if you're a mechanically uninclined young woman they will take advantage of your wallet.
Fortunately thanks to this ordeal I learned about other resources I can use when my car is having issues such as businesses which offer free diagnostics and places where I can order parts online. So thank you Our Planet Auto for teaching me this rather expensive lesson. Hopefully with this review others can avoid the same treatment.

As working as a mechanic in the area for 30 years at Petes Automotive I can tell you that this is the only place that cares about the environment. Antifreeze goes down the drains at petes and also grease and oil from the engine washes that are done in the shop.

Soooo dissatisfied with my experience here!!! The only convenience was the fact that the shop is within walking distance; but TOTALLY not worth it. ? I was charged $130 for them to look at the car, & the pathetic mechanic Rueben, couldn’t even diagnose the problem!!! Then his incompetent behind had the NERVE to cop an attitude because I asked why the check engine light is on now, when it was NOT on when I brought the car in…. SUCH A WASTE!!! Just can’t find skilled workers anymore…let alone polite OR accountable! I DO NOT RECOMMEND ??

I had my boost gauge repaired along with my air conditioner, and right front tire seal replaced. Our Planet was recommended to me by BC Body Craft in Oak Park. Glad they did as I was very happy with the service. Seamless communication and timely repairs. I will use them again if need be. I hope be isn't a preposition.Services: Auto A/C recharge

$75 to change a bulb that I could have done in 10 minutes with no special tools. They don't print a receipt they send via email so I didn't notice the insane gouging. Stay far from this place.Service: General repairs & maintenance

Just moved to the area and needed brakes looked at. I went in blind and they told me all I needed was the front axle. They could have had me but they obviously have integrity.They will get my repeat business.I felt the price for front brakes, rotors, oil change and service was fair. Told them I needed to be out by 3 pm and I was, job done!

Our Planet was awesome! They had me come in same day and replaced my serpentine belt, resolve my brake issues (new rotor, caliper and pads) and diagnosed an additional issue I will return to address. Stan called me to let me know it was done hours before I had initially thought. I will use again!!! A++++Service: Brakes
