This place is trash. If there's no carts I'm not shopping here period. The store wasn't even busy they're just too cheap to replace carts. 90% of their food is either right at expiration, past expiration or spoiled because stockers just pile food right on top of the old stuff. Their prices are too expensive for the disgustingly low quality that you're getting. It sucks because they're so close to where I live but I have to go all the way to Trader Joe's or Aldi.

Mainly shop here for convenience. This is a smaller local grocery store but has most of the essentials. It's usually ok but today I got a pack of corn on sale.... I forgot to check the date of packaging before I left (July 25th). Picked it up on July 31st. Open the package and the corn is covered in white slimey mold. Quick Google search indicated even corn still in its husk doesn't stay fresh that long. It should not have been on the shelf discounted or not. I foolishly tried to wash and boil the heck out of it to salvage what I'd bought but all of the 4 corn cobbs were covered in mold which was not visible through the packaging. Even with boiling the corn was sour so I spat it out and trashed it immediately. I don't know what I was thinking flirting with mycotoxins like that. Will never ever, ever get packed corn again.

Pretty good produce. I enjoy the pre-made deli items like the potato salad. It's a small store, but it's nice to have one on Madison in Oak Park. I wish they had better produce like ripe melons, but it works. It seems like flowers come in on Saturday and there is always something interesting in the tiny floral department.

I was happy with the sales. Except Jewel didn't honor the sale for the Madeline's. I plan on calling Over Joyed on Monday. To let them know how I feel about it and the misadvertisement that's being done with their name.

This Jewel's Osco was once my favorite to shop at until today. I was unjustly harassed along with my disabled cousin. We were wrongly implied to have stolen something because we had our book bags and was told that we had to leave the store without any actual justification for it.
I along with my cousin happily showed them the insides of bags because we had nothing to hide but they still demanded that we leave claiming it came from a manger that was "watching the cameras" I live not to far from this Jewel's and it served a very convenient grocery store. I've been a constant patron of this Jewel's for last 3 years I've live in Oak Park and never had an encounter like this until this "Seemingly" new 94 Security approached me out of the blue. This lacks the proper amount of hand carts and buggies for the amount of people that frequent this store. I had to spend at least 10 - 15 min lookin for a cart before I'd gotten a motorized cart, to them be stopped by the 94 Security and his partner.

Never had a problem with this location up until today 6/10/24 when I sent my bf to the store to grab a few things for dinner. There weren’t any carts outside so when he came in he was looking for a cart (still none). Next thing you know the security dudes (94) walked up to him saying “Oh what you trying to do bro?” Saying they watched the cameras. If you watched the cameras you’ll see nothing was put into his bag and him and his cousin was walking around looking for a cart. He couldn’t find a damn cart! Then was told to open his bag (there wasn’t anything in there b/c nothing was never taken) then told him “Oh they want you out the store so leave.” “I’m just trying to do my job.” Well if you were doing your damn job you’ll see you had nothing but sat there with you and your plus sized coworker with the braids thinking y’all had something. He kept telling the guy he comes there all the time always talk to Ms. Shirley and other older ladies in the front end. We never had an issue there and come there all the time because it’s literally up the street from the house. But from this day forward this location will never get our money.

I’m not sure what’s going on with this location the service is horrible and not much to choose from and they NEVER have the famous chicken Cesar salad!!! Just shut this location down already!!!

Really ghetto, staff is rude, no type of customer service skills at all, I would not be surprise if the workers were to assault you, expired meat , would not recommend

Not a very good example of what a jewel could be. Would provide more information if I was able to shop. No carts. No baskets. No help. At 5pm on a Tuesday and not that busy, not sure what the problem was.
