My husband and I were engaged for years and we looked at dozens of venues but we never quite connected to any place until we walked into the Nineteenth Century Club. Located in lovely Oak Park, it is directly across from a beautiful piece of land called Austin Gardens - a PERFECT location for outdoor photos.On October 8th 2022, we hosted 250+ people and you would never know it was one of the largest events the Club has hosted. Everything ran smoothly and our guests had an amazing time.Filled with antique charm but with all the modern conveniences you can ask for, we knew immediately that this was the place. We worked almost exclusively with Woody who is just phenomenal at his job. At the time of our wedding he was both the coordinator AND the chef. As a coordinator he is thorough, honest, and incredibly accommodating. He has dozens of “preferred vendors” that know this venue inside and out. As a chef - let’s just say we STILL get compliments on the food which is saying a lot as we had a Sicilian/Filipino wedding - two cultures where food is KING. It was delicious! Our experience with Woody was a blessing - so much so we consider him a friend to this day!PLEASE DO NOT PASS THIS PLACE UP. Take a tour. Meet with Woody. I promise you will not regret it.

We held our Welcome Party here the night before the wedding and this venue was perfect! The team is very accommodating and friendly. We mostly worked with Woody who helped make everything happen for us, including hiring Chef Jane to cook us wonderful Haitian food. The day of Stephanie helped keep everything together and was so kind. Ryan made sure the team was set and the service we received was great. The space worked great for up to 300 people and could have held more! We loved the setup we had for our welcome party and we had the best time.Such a great venue to host your wedding or any event in Oak Park, highly recommend!

The Nineteenth Century Charitable Association is an amazing place to host a wedding. It is such a beautiful and spacious venue. The staff are so kind and easy to work with. The price point is definitely manageable. We were able to fit over 150 people in our wedding comfortably. They were also able to beautifully host a performance by cultural dancers on the stage! I am really happy with the wedding I had here.I want to specifically shout out Woody, Ryan, and Stephanie. Woody worked with us the whole way though. He was extremely useful in coordinating finances, floor plans, and miscellaneous tasks. He is extremely kind and very easy to work with. Ryan worked great in the background during the whole event. Stephanie is so accommodating. She helped out directly and made sure everything was perfect for my wedding. It was like I had an extra wedding planner!My wife and I are so greatful for the team at the Nineteenth century for making our day extra special. We will definitely recommend this venue to all our friends and family.

This is an excellent choice for a wedding venue! My wife and I had a wonderful celebration here - both our ceremony and reception were held in this building, and there are multiple floors with different layouts and functions that can suit all the different portions of a wedding day.Our top wedding priorities were to feed our guests delicious food, have a beautiful ceremony and reception, and have a space that was easy to use and navigate. The 19th Century Club offers all of these things with exceptionally good quality. The coordinating team (Woody and Ryan) are incredible to work with. They were responsive and offered guidance and support all throughout our wedding planning process, which made our day easy to plan and execute, but most importantly, made it simple for us to be present and enjoy our wedding.

My husband & I had our wedding reception here 2 weeks ago and everything ran so smoothly thanks to the whole crew. Stephanie was a delight and Woody was the best. Since the moment we toured the place until the day of the wedding he was so helpful. The venue itself is very classic, and food is delicious too!

Had a rehearsal dinner here for my wedding. The service was great. The setting was beautiful. Bathrooms were not easily accessible. Wonderful location. The only reason for removing one star is the price. Not great.

This rating is purely based on the wait staff/servers for a wedding reception I attended. The venue itself was nice and clean. The wait staff was not properly trained, served us cake with no forks, neglected to bring hors d’oeuvres to our table consistently even after I mentioned that we keep getting passed over and were just overall unorganized.

Great staff, beautiful and super clean venue (including the ballroom), and convenient elevator right when you walk in.Only issue is, because the venue is of historical background (dating over a hundred years), it's hard to keep the big size ballroom with cold air conditioning, so the ballroom tends to be a bit warm.

My niece had her wedding here and it was absolutely gorgeous! The historical building was beautiful and with a lot of character. The rooms are spacious and the service was excellent. Parking was available and extremely inexpensive. The bar served top tier drinks. Highly recommend this place for your special event!

This is where we hold our Sunday worship All Nations Worship Assembly Westside, in the suburb of Oak Park, Illinois. We serve under the leadership of Pastor David & Prophetess D Wilford. Each Sunday at 10:30am, we are family here at 178 Forest Avenue, Oak Park, IL, we have parking on Sunday in the garage right behind Coopers Hawk. This building is good for all kinds of functions, ours is church. Come out and visit we would love to see you!

I recently hosted my mother's 80th birthday party at the Nineteenth Century Club and it was wonderful! The Houck Ballroom was dressed beautifully and the dinner was delicious! I received so many compliments from my guests. Several stated they weren't aware of this venue and would book it for their next big event. The staff is great as well. The event planning with the Sales Manager John "Woody" Linton was seamless. Even when I added more people, days before the event, he was very accommodating. The day-of-event manager, Stephanie and her crew were outstanding! They did everything from helping us load-in to checking that every guest was comfortable. I will definitely use this venue again!
