I'm specifically referring to the Walgreens on 87th and Cicero's Ave in Hometown, Illinois. I've always loved this particular Walgreens , once a great store as I live in walking distance . I used to not just use pharmacy but after shopped a lot there . Since management change the place has become a dump ! Bring back former manager as she cared about the store. Now the employees and manager play hide and seek with the customers . Most have attitudes . Shelves are poorly stocked . Forget the ad , probably not there. Employees work only when the mood strikes . Now I use strictly for the pharmacy which has informed me they're no longer open on Sundays. It seems they're trying to change the neighborhood into a ghetto and the store into a ghetto store. Only Laura , in the pharmacy is outstanding and goes out of her way to help customers , the rest mainly seem disinterested. The pharmacy staff is ok with the rest but Laura stands above them all and should be store director. Many seniors live in this area and depend on this pharmacy. Hate to see them ever close as the CVS across the street recently closed. At night it's a hangout outside for panhandlers . I complained to an employee and I saw him go outside and hi 5 the panhandler so I took it up with mgr prior and he was gone. This is a great location but corporate must address and change management as I fear them closing soon. What they're doing to this quiet neighborhood is atrocious and will cause many to leave including me in my 70s. When I say them, I mean the realtors allowing this demise of a beautiful neighborhood. The Hometown plaza now looks dangerous. And this Walgreens , once among the best , is being reduced to a neglected patients rule the asylum ( employees ) dump. Never check the ad anymore , no reason, they're out unless we're allowed to shop in back room. Sorry to sound so negative but just about 5 years ago I'd of given it 5 stars ! Shame on corporate for allowing this to continue.

I was sent to pick up at the Pharmacy and was treated very rudely by the cashier guy in Pharmacy. He was a young, Caucasian male. He verbally stated he did not want to give me the items & needed to call the recipient. He had a nasty attitude the whole time he spoke with me from the moment I showed up. He said to me, " your just a _________". I filled in the blank for him and said, driver. He needs to worry about his job and don't worry about my position. This is EXACTLY why I don't want to work with people like him, but the world is not happy until I do. The difference between me and him is, I HAVE REASON TO SAY WHAT I SAY ABOUT PEOPLE FROM MY OWN PERSONAL EXPERIENCE. You people are just a bunch of nasty bullies who joined together in harassing me. Too bad for all of you that I just don't care about your opinion of me. Mind your business.

This location has to be the slowest and inefficient Walgreen's Pharmacy I have ever been too. Staff is rude and very slow with no sense of urgency. There is always a long line both inside and in the drive-thru.

Cooperate really needs to take a look at this location because the pharmacy is the understaffed, slow, and at times downright incompetent. It’s really sad that this is the way the 24 hour location is being run.

I called the pharmacy to ask about the status of my prescription on Jan 8 since my doctor approved the refill Jan 7. the guy I spoke to said he would take care of it. I waited over a week and no calls. That means they didn't process the refill. I called again on Jan 19 to follow up and they put me on hold for over 20 mins. It's ridiculous. I have been using this Pharmacy for a long time and have never had a problem like this. Maybe because I no longer see the good people who worked there when the management was good at that time on this Pharmacy. They are so slow now a days and don't even care when the line for pick up is too long. They are VERY VERY SLOW. Management should train these PEOPLE for better services otherwise this pharmacy should be closed.

Called the store location today 01/11/24 @ 8:20am to refill a prescription. Was on hold for 11 minutes. I finally got thru to Maria who immediately told me to hold on, and she put me on hold. After about 30 secs, she transferred me to a number that just rang and rang, and eventually disconnected. I called back again. Waited 14 minutes, and again Maria answered, and she immediately put me on hold again. The call was transferred and disconnected after several minutes. She needed to be reprimanded. If she doesn't like her job, she needs to find another. I'm sure this is happening to many customers who call this Walgreen's. I'm probably the only one who has taken time to let this be known. I hope this review finds its way to the proper personnel, and these incidents are mentioned to her. But it probably won't. These calls need to be monitored. This can not be tolerated.

I went to this Walgreens store and spent $251 dollars and I asked for a receipt and I was told it was in the bag and the receipt was not in the bag so I had to go back to the Walgreens again and they gave me a receipt showing half the items I purchased .. but I was charged double on certain items. and these items was not even in the cart. So go figure that since I’m an old man, they can just double charge me for items I did not place before cashier or even get..This is what happens when you have dishonest individuals employed at a store and that’s just the way it goes.. I only regret I can only give them a negative one star..

I was diagnosed with a nasty COVID-19 infection and was prescribed 3 drugs by a doctor. It was sent to my local Walmart pharmacy, who did not have the drugs in stock. After calling a few places, this location had all 3 drugs I needed and was 24 hours. I called at 11:45am on a Friday to transfer my medications (one of which was Paxlovid which I needed to take that day because it was the last day I could take it) and at first the person on the phone said it would take 1-2 hours to get my meds. I called 3 hours later checking on the status of my meds and then they told me it could take up to 4 hours later. I called about 5 hours later and then they told me it would take up to 24 hours later. I called the next day at 3pm (over 30 hours later) and they told me that 24 hours is not a guarantee. They refuse to call into the local Walmart, as they are claiming Walmart is the issue. When I call Walmart, they mention that they have nothing from Walgreens requesting my prescriptions. Meanwhile, the doctor refuses to cancel and resend prescriptions, and says that Walgreens should do their job no problem. As a healthcare worker and a public health professional myself, let me express my deepest disdain for what has been happening, as I cannot be the only one suffering from this issue. For one, these medications can make or break the COVID-19 infection and there were a few times while waiting I almost wanted to go to the ED for my symptoms. Serious neglect such as this is harmful to the health of an individual, and can cause worse off outcomes to someone worse off than me, like hospitalization and/or death. The conduction of all of this can be grounds for a lawsuit, and it is sad that the problem will not be fixed unless innocent individuals lose their health and suffer.I am absolutely appalled by the conduction of this pharmacy and how it serves the population, which is also an underserved community that warrants better care to help improve the lives and the health of this beautiful community. The workers here to not care about someone's suffering, pain, and adamancy to get better. The rudeness, lack of compassion, inability to communicate, and lack of transparency is concerning on multiple levels. It is a shame and it breaks my heart.I hope you will see this review in good spirits to do better for your community who is deeply suffering considering the low ranking of this pharmacy...yet y'all have all the meds we need. What a Catch 22.

This has got to be the worst, most incompetent Walgreens pharmacy on the planet and that’s saying a lot. Most Walgreens outside of the loop are horrible, but this has got to be the worst of the worst. 99% of the time they will screw up every single prescription unless you walk in and hand them the script on a piece of paper.I’ve had them tell me multiple times, they are supposed to substitute by law, but unfortunately none of them are familiar with the law in Illinois that REQUIRES CONSENT from either the patient or doctor before substituting. On prescriptions that EXPLICITLY say do not substitute they will still substitute, and insurance won’t cover it. You have to sit there and argue with them to fill it correctly to get it covered most of the time - even when it’s a regular prescription you fill there. They have gotten worse and worse every year that passes. I’ve had them mark prescriptions as being denied refills by the doctor - which after calling to doctor, wasn’t the case, then tell me they aren’t covered, but when I argue it with them then they are somehow magically covered. These are for prescriptions I’ve been taking for 40 years and I can’t even get them to fill it right.Save yourself the headache and go to CVS or really anywhere but Walgreens.

HORRIBLE. Stay away from pharmacy! Be prepared to wait at least 45 minutes in the drive thru. We transferred our scripts to CVS. Much better. Never longer than 10 minute wait if that.

3 h waiting time for inhalers ??? Are you kidding me? They should close this place
