so, they recently changed their hours from closing at 7 to 8pm. but i got there at 7:15 and the doors were locked and they put 2 carts at the second door just in case someone wanted to hop in.I was hoping to buy something that I saw in the morning. basically just check out. but even if I want to look around I would had 45 min to check. most of the time theres only 1 cashier. she's so sweet but I can see the frustration while the manager is just sitting in the office and come out to check prices and little things like that ! so my suggestion is not to go there after 7 even though they close at 8pm.

Used to be a weekly stop -- not any more! Apparel is all in the $7-$12 dollar range now. Seems to happen from time to time at this location. Really seems to depend on the management -- they seem to rotate managers at this one quite a bit, and it really shows on pricing, cleanliness, staff morale, etc. I'll check back in a year or so!

BEWARE OF CART THIEVES & then the manager is a condescending cunt who then accused me of stealing and refused any suggestions of adding more carts! Please fire her she is absolutely terrible, stood around not doing anything while everyone is busting their asses. I think I was profiled by her too because of the way I look; not happy with that experience at all

World class organization. I paid 4 bucks for a pair of Lucky jeans. Who's the lucky one here. Inventory changing all the time, because of the hard working people there. It's a thrift store that has real bargains for real people...and stuff

Very clean place with variety of items but the items are not arranged so you spend so much time trying to get you size

I must say that I am highly impressed by the Salvation Army location. Tomorrow stop by to donate some clothes and went inside to kill two birds with one stone. They had a big book selection I found five books that I've been looking for for a while. Vicky helped me out and she was super friendly. The team at any store is what truly makes the store great will definitely be returning

seriously...NO mirrors. nada , zero, zip. How and why would you buy any clothes --- and these are used , that you cannot even see what they look like ???? I get the no fitting rooms...BUT come on...maybe have ONE mirror ?... then I remembered.....Back in day there was ONE mirror in a Unique thrift store that was in Chicago Heights. Women were in their bra/panties trying on pants/tops. The security guy had to keep going back in corner and "asking" the ladies NOT to undress back there to try on clothes....I get it now. And let's talk $$$$ prices are just as much $$ as buying NEW at Burlington/Ross and even Kohls. No returns ,so buy at own risk. Not worth the work.

This is now one of only two Salvation Army stores on the entire south side, which is twice as large as the north side. Technically, since this store isn't in Chicago proper, that means there is just ONE Salvation Army store on the south side of the city, and it is extremely far west. What this means is that people are driving or traveling long distances across town just to make donations, or shop (because their donation pickup service is notoriously terrible.) As alluded to by other reviewers, furniture is sucked in from donations to be sent to the other side of town, therefore unavailable at any south side locations anymore, and there are no mirrors anymore to at least try to see how things fit. Also, in this particular shopping center, stores are dropping like flies at the moment, which doesn't bode well. I wonder how much longer this location will last, because it seems to clearly lack some of the obvious investment, renovation and upgrading that has happened at other locations north. The apparent trend is to suck resources and donations from the south side and send them to the north side. Prove me wrong, Salvation Army!

I've shopped here, off and on, for years. I visited this place Monday September 30 and was shocked. The store has gone down so bad, I wouldn't but my cats nothing from here. It was sad. No place to try on clothes (well that's not new) No mirrors to see how it look on you... Now that's new! Why would you get rid of all the mirrors? A whole section for house wares is gone; It's sectioned off for employees. You know what I think? I think since more of us Blacks shopped there the Salvation Army think it's ok to let the store turn into a nasty hell hole for Blacks and Mexicans to shop. Well guess what? I won't be back to the hell hole on Cicero. And to think that I used to call it " S A Boutique" and was proud I shopped there. Now I am ashamed. That place is not good. You good 'Christians' in the Army for the Lord need to improve that place. Hell I'll give you mirrors. You think we don't want to see ourselves in the merchandise? Free parking so 2 stars and not 1.

What a horse load of garbage this store is, I've never heard of such a thing. I find the lone pair of jean shorts that will actually fit me and wait in a god awful crazy line because my shorts I ripped out. Went to my car and got my gym pants and figure on my lunch I'll run to thrift store. Apparently if there is no tag they won't sell them, like go find the most expensive pair of Jean shorts and I'll pay a dollar more! They have no store policy hanging anywhere so I just wasted half hour of my hour lunch. It's all good I will go to Burlington and buy brand new. People need to change their store policy because they depend on public to keep open and at this rate I honestly believe they'll end up just like HOBO

The Salvation Army on 87th & Cicero is horrible. It is poorly managed and if you ever have a concern, don't bother asking to speak to the manager unless you're a glutton for disrespect and disregard. The store has no organization. There are no mirrors so you can't even try on your finds and this coupled with the no return policy makes shopping here even more impractical. Some customers use the mirrors on the dressers in the back of the store to try on clothing. The problem with this is the exposure to disrobed people. People have had their pesonal items stolen while trying to discreetly try on clothes in a tight area with others doing the same. This whole store and situation is a disrespectful mess and the Salvation Army should be ashamed of how this store operates and the obvious lack of leadership, management and respect to it's patrons. .

This is the worst Salvation Army I have ever been to its very dirty and there's some type of yellow liquid on the floor and me and my 2 friends were accused of stealing when we were clearly putting things over our clothes and were asked to take off our jackets and they gave us a shopping cart to put our stuff in. lines are very long and workers take their time and very unorganized and dirty.do not come here.

I loved this thrift store. Seriously no mirror?!? There use to be ONE mirror at this store & now its gone. I went today & wanted to try some sweaters but the mirror was gone. I asked if they had another mirror but was told that the manager had removed it. WTH!!! What kind of manager removes the only mirror in the whole entire store?! REALLY?! Pretty shitty move.
