So beautiful and lovely especially this time of year. Fall colors line York Street and the front of the hotel magnificently. The lighted patio is so romantic. Everything about this hotel from the art, antiques, decor, elegance and amazing hospitality & service, is ten star!! I would love to see an outdoor pool and/or indoor pool/jacuzzi here in the near future.

We were there for an anniversary party.
We got there a little early to check in our room.
We decided to get sometimes to eat at the bar by check in. We sat down around 10min later no one came to see if we wanted anything the bartender was ingrossed in conversation with a couple at the bar. I finally went up to him and asked if we can get some food. He stumbled all over himself saying oh where are you sitting.
When it was clear as day. We ordered 2 drinks and a flat bread.40 min later nothing had showed up. I saw a waitress and asked her about our food. She went back to see and about 2 min later it came out. Not hot just warm. She said I talked to management and gave you a discount.
But it was like we didn't exist.
At the banquet the food was exceptional we enjoyed it all.
But we all noticed how quickly plates were being taken away. Some people weren't done eating.
I have never been to any banquet hall where people were so in a hurry to take plates off the table.
Someone was taking my dessert and I had to stop them. Everyone at the table noticed it also.
We had breakfast there also. We noticed the same way as night before. This time waitress asked if she could take our plates.
I'm sure everything has to be done before they leave for evening. But this is their job.
They signed up for this.
We also noticed the lady who maybe in charge was also taking plates off the table.
Not a waitress dressed like a hostess.
.it was like they were steeling the plates from the table. If you turned around your plate was gone.
Maybe training is not up to par. Or being trained by wrong people. Just FYI.

What an adorable place to stay! The rooms are very nice, but most importantly the entire staff just seemed happy to have guests there, and were more than accommodating!
Location isn’t super close to anything within walking distance, other than a Deli and a Lifetime Fitness, but is nice and safe.

Very nice and historic hotel. Mark at the front desk was super helpful and considerate to my needs. The restaurant and bar staff helped make very good wine and food pairings.

We loved the room and the property and the Service! But we were appalled by the pilled bottom sheet, non-cotton and uncomfortable. I was so tired I couldn’t complain at the time but I was distinctly underwhelmed by that experience. I wouldn’t give a pilled, tired sheet to my guests and I don’t charge! We stayed at the Drake because we were moving out of the area and our house was packed…

Exemplary service and very accommodating.
Rooms are clean and room service is actually quite delicious.
It’s our go-to location when visiting the Chicagoland area.

I hosted a baby shower at The Drake Oak Brook on September 7th and was thrilled with the venue, the food, and the service. Jessica Van Dyck made planning easy. I live out of state and she cheerfully addressed all my questions and offered great suggestions to make it a perfect event. Once the big day arrived, Kevin at the front desk arranged my beautiful room, and accommodated all my questions about the hotel. Brian, on the valet staff was so helpful and attentive handling the many decorations I brought in and out and helping the new parents get all their gifts to the cars. The food was excellent and the service from Manager Anna, our waiter Maria and other servers, Manuel and Octavio, was superb. I highly recommend the Drake Oak Brook. So glad I am a Marriott Bonvoy member.

We were in town from Minnesota for a wedding. The hotel was stunning. The staff we directly incountered were fantastic. The valets were friendly and extremly helpful. However your wedding planner was aggressive and even brought the bride to tears. She booked a rehearsal 30 minutes prior to the ceremony. So they had random people walking through their venue right before the wedding. Extremely tactless. They were milling about the wedding areas touching centerpieces and even being critical of the decor. I found this as a guest to be upsetting. The bride and her mother were so confused by them allowing a rehearsal using their venue! A bride shoukd never experience this kind of lack luster care on her big day.
No pool was a definite downer as well.

45 mins from the city. Friendly, knowledgeable, considerate and helpful staff. The hotel and room were beautiful ,upgraded and clean. The food was fresh and delicious. I will definitely be staying at the Oak Brook Drake again in the near future.
Rooms: Oversized TV, large bathroom with separate shower area, super comfortable bed, desk, chairs and bar cart. The floors are laid in a herringbone pattern. The room is very charming.

(short version)
It is unlikely you will find a better hotel, that can meet, or exceed everything The Drake does. There is to much to list, and if I try to do a short summery I will exceed the character limit. Please read below; but in short overall truly 5/5.
(long version)
BEST IN CLASS! The Drake Oak Brook is the new standard for rating hotels in my book. I served in the Navy for 20 years, have been in several countries, staying in many hotels, including "5 star" hotels in Dubai, and The Drake made those look like Holiday Inn expresses. (Not to throw too much shade on Holiday Inn). To the point; starting with the staff. I do not think you will find a more friendly staff, with a higher sense of duty to customer service. The staff at The Drake hotel made my wife and I feel like we were friends of the owners, or family. A particular shout out to a few of them:
Krystal was amazing when she checked us in, we arrived earlier than expected and she was able to move somethings around so we could check in and start our Chicago adventure right away.
Ricky is an amazing valet and doorman, if you want to know something about The Drake, Chicago or the local area, go see Ricky.
Walter (the night doorman) was always friendly and remembered us every time we came by, he was the 'key' in finding out one of the fun not so secret, secrets of The Drake hotel.
Tina (or Lisa? Sorry!) The night front desk (manager?/staff) was great, she helped us understand the layout, was extremely friendly, and provided excellent advice for our return trip to O'Hare.
Last but not least Rigo our bar tender was top notch, very charismatic and friendly, listened well and remembered our conversations. I am confident this isn't just a job for him and he truly enjoys what he does. I hope you go to Japan Rigo, and let me know if you try that Gin drink we talked about!
That was just the staff that stands out via memory, all of the staff was amazing!
The lay-out of The Drake is top notch, the room we stayed in was spacious, with hard wood flooring in the main room, very comfortable chairs, and a bed that was perfection for both my wife and myself (around a 65-70 sleep number scale) not too hard or too soft. Very comfortable robes, (I can see why some guests have tried to wear their robe to breakfast lol) solid marble bathroom floor/wall. Most importantly a snack / drink bar! It is so infuriating when I stay at a "high end" hotel when this feature is not there in the room, I understand it often is not used, but if I am paying that price at least give me the option to decline. Thank you The Drake management for not pulling any punches on class!
The cocktails in the bar and tapas restaurant were exquisite, the Sangria is second only to two places I know (but fully worth the price) one is in the UK, the other is Texas De Brazil here in Detroit/Ann Arbor. The food was very enjoyable and if I had any complaint at all (which I don't) I would say that the menu is a slight bit pricy. However, if you are eating at a three star hotel (in my opinion 5 star), you have to expect to pay those prices. Ok if I had to criticize anything, anything at all I would say that the eggs benedict (I am a snob for this because it is my favorite breakfast) was not as good as the Double Tree Hilton in Alana Hawaii. The eggs were made perfectly on day one, but unfortunately day two one was broken, and one was undercooked. The hollandaise sauce is a bit mild for my taste but all in all this just means I'm looking forward to seeing if it improves the next time I stay! Please keep in mind I am VERY nit-picky about eggs benedict and this is not a negative criticism.
In summery what can I say, it was an amazing stay, The Drake (staff/hotel/experience) you made a normal vacation to Chicago into essentially a 2nd honeymoon, and we did
