Had a horrible experience with Patrick, my sister works at a location and wanted me to try on the jeans. We felt singled out and watched while being in the store, as they gossiped about us. When we tried to check out he told my sister because she’s an associate she has to put away go backs and made her feel horrible, we end up just walking out. Would never recommend this store because of the awkward situation we were put in.

Horrible experience!
Today I stopped by Madewell to refresh my wardrobe and pick up a few items I'd been eyeing. Unfortunately, my visit was marked by a bit of an uncomfortable encounter with one of the sales associates.
As soon as I walked in, i was ignored however, I was followed by a staff member named Maggie. She's a tall woman with grey hair and glasses. Definitely was not friendly. her behavior was a bit off-putting. She seemed to be watching me closely as I shopped, which made me feel a bit uneasy.
I tried to brush it off and continued shopping, but it was clear that I was being watched. When I first walked in I grabbed a pair of dark flared jeans that I’ve been eyeing, and the sales associate demanded she take them and hold them in the front until I was done. I said no, When I went to the middle of the store to look at more jeans, I was followed. I then went to the sale section in the back of the store, she was there again, watching me as I browsed through the racks. It was a bit distracting and made me feel like I was being profiled.. being that I am Hispanic I guess she felt the need to watch me and not everyone else in the store.
In the end, I decided not to make a purchase and left the store. While the clothes are nice, I didn't feel comfortable enough to shop there again. If you're looking for a welcoming and respectful shopping experience, you might want to consider other options.

The staff here are so nice! I love that they have a program where you can recycle jeans with them from any brand and get a credit towards new jeans from them. I got some really cute basics here!

I am consistently disappointed in the size range kept in stock in this store. Though Madewell offers a good range of sizes for their clothing, it is almost impossible to find anything in this store that is even a size medium or larger, which is a very alienating and frustrating experience for customers looking for anything above a size small (I know there are a lot of us out there!). The store is beautiful and the staff are always friendly, so it's a shame that I cannot shop the majority of styles in the store. I'd love to see this store make an effort to offer a better range of sizes.

As I work in a form of customer service, I understand that customers come in all varieties, some nice and friendly, respectful, etc. There's also customers that do strange and rude things to upset the employees, as I've experienced and witnessed myself. With that said, even if the employees feel annoyed or upset by a customer's actions, it should NOT be something to complain about on the sales floor, in front of other customers, even mocking certain less than amicable customers. If you need to vent or complain, don't do it when the customer is in the dressing room or at the counter... people can clearly hear you.I appreciate Madewell's brand and styles, but the staff the day I shopped in store was disappointing and rude. Don't badmouth customers in front of other people.

I’ve been a customer of this store for years.Staff intentionally chose to answer the phone but not open the door when it was not closing time. Choosing to close more than 5 mins early is bizarre when someone drives over to make a return. Leaving them in the cold is rude. Please address this with the manager Julia.

The store was clean and organized when we arrived, it was almost time to close so we just bought some accessories and left. They do have plenty of products , from denim to accessors like sunglasses and more. It was on a Wednesday so not so busy. Parking is also near . We will have to come back earlier next time.

Nice clean store. Helpful staff. The brand is very popular. Prices were reasonable when quality is considered.
