We had to deal with them after our father’s death. Absolutely terrible follow up. Average of 3 days, multiple calls, and several emails before any response. Switched to Fidelity in Denver. What a difference. The Denver team was able to get more done in 2 days than the Oak Brook team could do in 2 months. They even discovered that they had actually done the trust paperwork wrong. Might be time for some retraining. At a minimum, how to return a phone call.

I was a “High Net Worth” client at Fidelity. Given their size and expertise you would think that would give you access to certain advisors or expertise that you would not otherwise qualify for. Instead, every conversation was about trying to get me to entrust my funds to an independent RIA - “Registered Investment Advisor” that would invest my funds accordingly. This was a 3rd party outside of Fidelity that, in turn, kicks a portion of the expense ratio back to Fidelity. Therefore my “Advisor” was clearly incentified to push my funds to an outside firm that would work within the Fidelity portal, but would give kickbacks to Fidelity for the referral on an ongoing basis. Thanks Fidelity, but I am going to Chase, who trusts their in-house advisors and doesn’t sell out their customers for kickbacks. Worse than Robinhood, honestly. I would rather pay for order flow rather than be referred to a 3rd party so Fidelity can collect a percentage into perpetuity for their bait and switch tactics. Can I be lead plaintiff? This cannot be the role of a purported fiduciary…

Absolutely awful. Due to misinformation from not one,but several advisors my wife and myself lost a large sum of money and ended up homeless within a few days of my retirement.When I had informed them of our plight due to their wrong information I got a "Sorry for the inconvenience."We were told Fidelity Corporate would reach us within two weeks.So far its been four weeks without hearing from Corporate.I would like to give negative stars but not possible.

Website is adequate. That is where it ends. Lately - Customer service is beyond AWFUL. If using the phone to contact, plan on being put on hold for at least 30-60 minutes with no call back option. In my case, after being transferred around and put on hold several times. My request for instructions on wiring money to a title company for a land purchase were... "you'll have to call us when you are ready to do the wire." On-line the online helper is useless and they will also ignore your secure email inquiries. No one at Fidelity is accountable for this horrible customer service.

This is where money goes to die. It's is Impossible to comprehend where dysfunction starts and ineptitude begins. I'm ashamed and feel like an idiot for being a customer for twenty plus years. Try requesting a printed summary of accounts and watch hilarity ensue. Which is actually a tragedy because this is one's retirement. The SEC needs to take a look into this firm.

Getting in touch with these people are impossible. They transfer you to multiple numbers and then hang up. No one calls you back either. The worst service.
