“I see a lot of bad reviews but I've been here probably about 10 times and generally don't really have any issues. And definitely not any issues that would not happen at any other post office I've been to. Yeah the workers might not have a fake customer service Smile on 24/7 but don't really expect it, they help with the transaction and then we're done”

“i had a really great experience here opening a PO Box. i was slightly hesitant based on the negative reviews so i just want to add my positive experience in case anyone is on the fence. There was one employee at the desk and she was very nice, helpful, and efficient with myself and everyone in front of me despite being it kind of being a holiday (Monday July 3).There were three people in front of me and i still got in, registered, and out before my 15min parking was up.I didn’t catch her name, but the employee working today was so lovely and i wouldn’t hesitate recommending people to use this location!”

“While headed to the Green Bay Trail for a run, I found this United States Postal Service (Glencoe Post Office) to be the closest near the trail while enroute. At the time, I had an eBay shipment that needed to be shipped out. I took a liking to its cute building which sat in a classy looking area nearby Glencoe Village Hall right in the heart of Glencoe! Via Village Ct, I was able to veer quickly into a parking spot rather than entering off of Hazel Ave. Along with its cute building exterior, the inside environment gave off a very positive vibe rather than a negative one. As I waited to be seen, I adored the postal clerks' interaction with a customer ahead of me, who had a young daughter. The interaction appeared so genuine which put a smile on my face immediately while in line and as I moved towards the counter to be helped. As someone who visits post offices regularly whether it be for Poshmark or eBay shipments, the postal clerk presented one of the friendliest vibes I have ever encountered at any post office location. After giving the clerk my package, he questioned me if it had anything liquid or hazardous inside then explained to me the shipment options for my package which I always choose the cheapest, hehe. As a Poshmark Ambassador on Poshmark, and someone with a 100% positive feedback rating on eBay as long as the package gets to my buyer I am always satisfied. I was on my way in minutes. I am terrible at doing the surveys pertaining to my visits at post offices, but best believe I always share some sort of a review. Being that I had a great experience, I would gladly utilize this United States Postal Service (Glencoe Post Office) again when in the area. ~ Embrace the journey. ~Thomas G”

“The staff at this location are super efficient and friendly even during rush/busy hours. There is a self service box if you don’t want to wait in line (there usually is one when I have gone), but I have been happy even the times I’ve had to wait in line to speak to someone. The employees are incredibly patient even though the customers here are often not.”

“USPS provides amazing value. I needed to send some envelops with two to three day delivery. UPS was going to charged my wife twice what USPS would charge, and when I needed to return the signed versions UPS was three times at much $92 UPS vs $35 for USPS - and delivered a day earlier! I rarely see these kinds of savings but here is one - use it!”

“One of the staff stayed out during the start of her lunch break to help me cancel a package I had dropped in the drop box earlier that day. She had no obligation to help me but chose to anyways, incredibly incredibly nice and made my day.”

“Naomi in this office helped me out with a change of address issue after Wilmette basically told me to get lost. She went the extra mile. Representing the best the US postal service has to offer. Rock on USPS Kenilworth! Naomi is the best!”

“By far, this is the most helpful, friendly, and well organized post office I have ever lived near. They routinely go out of their way to help you mail a package (even when you don't have the right tape or box), choose the correct shipping class and even will run out to the truck to retrieve your mother in law's Easter package because Yours Truly forgot to put her room # on the address. It is a jewel of a post office and I hope it stays open for a long long time.”

“I love this post office! I don't live in Highwood but I go to this location as you get a small-town feel, the clerks are friendly, funny, helpful and efficient.”

“There is a new young woman working at this location who is absolutely a pleasure to deal with. Also this location during the weekday is almost always not busy, no waiting. I think it will get busier though as people realize there are new personnel working here.”

“Excellent service. Didn’t get her name but African American woman with great smile had excellent customer service. Assisted me with passport details. They do not take pictures as they are a one person service stop, but she checked that I had everything I needed to expedite quickly.”

“I choose to go out of my way (specifically, out of the town I live in) to visit this post office with my mailing business. The gal behind the counter is always friendly, helpful, and efficient. She never gets flustered or upset if there's a line of customers waiting, she treats you kindly and I appreciate that!”

“I recently sent a package to a customer in Chicago. The package was mis-sent and ended up at the Norwood Park Post Office. I called the post office and spoke to E.J. He was very courteous and professional. He took down the tracking number and informed he would look for it, while I’m still waiting on the phone (I’m calling from San Diego). After a brief period of being on hold. He told me, he had the package in his hands!! E.J. informed me, this would be sent on its way. My customer received the package ? shortly thereafter after. Thank you E.J.? Outstanding job!!! Go ? Bears!”

“Everyone is always very friendly at this location. Always willing to help people, only downside is not enough employees, however the two employees at the counter work very fast and keep the line moving.”

“I went to this location about half an hour before closing on a Friday (I know ... it was the earliest I could get there) in order to send a package of documents internationally. I had reviewed the options online, but still wasn't sure what the best shipping option would be. The USPS worker who helped me was patient with my questions and informative in her explanation of the options; she explained clearly the delivery timelines for different methods and which offered signature on delivery (which I needed). I stepped aside to complete the necessary forms; because of the time of day, of course, several people passed through while I was there, and she was able to help everyone get through the line before closing. (There was one woman who came in and did try to skip the whole line and went straight to the counter while there was a customer being assisted, and the USPS worker -- rightly! -- told her she'd need to get in line like everyone else.) Post offices get a bad rap for service, but I wouldn't hesitate to come back to this location for help with any shipping in the future.”

“Had a good experience knowing that other locations are usually so bad, the employee was very pleasant and you can tell that he was new. My wait time was okay, the only thing that made me upset is a customer who was behind me who took my place and went to the counter pretending she didn’t see me, she probably felt entitled because she is a regular customer there.”

“Everytime I come here, everyone is so nice and helpful. Packages always deliver and on time. Never any issues with this post office. John is always nice and helpful.”

“The Best part of the Highland Park Post Office is Lucas no one there is as Great as he is. Lucas is so nice and has always helped me better than anyone else he is the most efficient ever. He should totally be in charge of where ever he works no one gets things done better than he does. The Post Office should do whatever it takes to keep him there no matter what, thank you Lucas you are the Best. Michael”

“Always friendly. Way better than the Morton Grove Location, A women at the desk notified me I was using the wrong shipping box so I would get charged later. Thank you to her for letting me know.”

“Great location, if one wants to mail directly instead of via local mailboxes. Usually not crowded, patient and helpful staff; sometimes busy at holidays or weekends but reliable. Nice variety of stamps available plus reliable service. Got solid advice from helpful staff recently on mail security and potential check fraud and unusual mail delays. Ideal place at slow times to get answers and informed answers at on USPS certified mail and tracking packages or letters.Front and side entrance are OK. Now-gone parking in back was a huge plus, though.”

“I usually have an unpleasant experience at the post office. I live near downtown so I was in this neighborhood & went to the post office & can easily say I’ll be coming back here.I was lucky enough to have Debra take care of me to send out my package & she was wonderful! Super helpful & sweet! Need more employees like her!:)”

“Service can be slow, but there is one worker here I'd like to commend! He's a tall guy who's helped me twice with shipping packages and was very patient, especially since I was super unfamiliar with the process. I appreciate his friendliness in an environment where customers & employees alike tend to be on-edge or standoffish.”

“If I could give our mail carrier, Jennifer Colon, more than 5 stars, I would! In the 25 years that I have been in my home, I have never had a more wonderful mail carrier. She is always friendly, considerate, responsible, and dependable. Jennifer goes out of her way to be helpful. She even leaves treats for my dog (he loves her, too)! Before her, I would get mail that wasn't mine and "holds on mail service" would never happen when they were supposed to! It's sad that people only write reviews when someone is bad, so I am happy to write a review about someone doing an outstanding job!”

“Not sure why this place has such a horrible rating. It's truly the best post office in the area. I'll go out of my way to go here instead of one closer to Rogers Park. Had my passport photo taken and loved it! Great ladies behind the desk! Also, just a cool historical building in general.”

“This might be the first positive review I've ever written about the postal service... I make and sell soaps, and have to mail out orders every once in a while. When I was living in Evanston, I dreaded it, because the woman that worked at the office nearest me was the rudest, unhelpful person I've met. However, I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of this office - the staff was on top of things and friendly. The store was very clean and organized, no papers or envelopes all over the floor like in Evanston. For a USPS, this one was as close to "top of the line" as you can get.”

“Anyone giving this post office a bad review has either never been to a post office or is blaming the front of house employees for general post office problems. The people at the counter are fantastic and far superior to what you see at most post offices. They are kind, actually care and work with you to solve problems. The postmaster at the location is readily available and will readily help with any issues. I often feel bad for the employees because most of the time when I hear people angry at them, it is because they themselves did something wrong or screwed something up and are blaming the PO.Is this place perfect? Obviously not. Relative to other POs, they are amazing.”

“The best mail lady in Northbrook is Letty, she has the best personality and very friendly. Its always a pleasure seeing her come in and deliver mail. We can always tell when she doesn't come in there's a difference between her and other mail carriers. Shes the one that reminds us if we've got outgoing mail which is always helpful.”

“I Just wanted to review this place bc of all the negative reviews… I’ve worked in customer service for SEVERAL years. The most annoying and stressful part of my work was dealing w customers, especially customers who feel entitled. Yes, customer service is about delivering a great experience to the customer but we’re not here for only YOU y’all!! There’s hundreds of other customers that these employees have to deal with, besides YOU, not to mention the thousands of other duties they probably have . Put yourself in these employees shoes, they probably feel overwhelmed and burned out! Also, did you notice that there’s only two employees working in the front (A.K.A they’re short staffed)?? Give these girls a break! They get the job done!!”
