“We Love this store! Small hardware IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD, with most things you may want around the house or apartment. Friendly and helpful staff. Plant stuff, electrical, plumbing, even bought a hat and gloves last fall!We try then first before resorting to the big box alternatives.Abd when you are done, you can stop at Lickity Split for an ice cream!!”
“Very happy with recent service from AG. He replaced a plexiglass storm window panel with bent aluminum frame, and the hardware on a sliding storm window panel from a porch door. Relatively small jobs, but he took care to complete the repairs right and at a low price. Communication throughout the process was also great. Highly recommended.”
“While all Ace hardware stores have provided me with very good service, this particular Ace has been superb.
I purchased an item that they couldn't deliver due to catchement area issues. Lynn, the manager, went out of her way to make sure that I received my item, fully put together, delivered and installed, from another Ace that was closer to my address. I couldn't have been more pleased with the purchase that I made, and the customer service was excellent.”
“I have ordered Basement Watchdog replacement items twice and found them to be exact replacements as advertised. The order process was very straightforward, and the items arrived quickly.”

4810 Oakton St, Skokie“They carry things that big box stores do not.Lumber is generally higher quality than big boxers as well. They have PenOfin wood stain. Barn door kits.Staff are knowledgeable.”
“Andersonville Hardware is convenient and close. I’ve gone in to find a small part from time to time and they have always been very nice and helpful.A couple years ago, they re-screened a window screen for me. My only complaint is that the screen was not done very tight so it flaps a bit in the breeze, but otherwise has held up fine.”
“Great hardware store and the personnel. Got what I was looking for. Also Mike was very kind and went above and beyond to help me with my needs. I love their approach and attitude, can't recommend them enough!”

1175 Lee St, Des Plaines“One year new home owner. I’m also a single woman so house improvements can be very confusing. Employees at this location especially James the store manager are extremely knowledgeable, super friendly and extremely patient. Today was my second experience with needing random things for updates around the new condo. Both experiences have been above and beyond. Also learned a lot in both trips. Thank you for the education and amazing shopping experience all wrapped up in one. Please go see the Des Plaines Ace hardware crew. Don’t forget to download the Ace hardware app for all the coupons and offers.”
“We used Kitchen and Bath Mart in the early 90's for kitchen remodeling in our first home and we were extremely happy with the results. So when it came time to update our kitchen, down stairs bath and master bath in our second home we went once again to Kitchen and Bath Mart in Niles. Working with George was a pleasure, he was very knowledgeable on all levels of the project.
Because of the multitude of choices available it is hard to decide what we wanted, George help guide us by offering options using drawings and examples at their nicely appointed show room.
The project went as planned, in the time frame they proposed. The installation crew consisted of a husband and wife team, Kris and Joann who did a fantastic job, they are truly artists at what they do. They were clean, organized and friendly. As in any major project there were a couple unexpected things that popped up, they were worked around the problems with professional results.
We highly recommend Kitchen and Bath Mart and would use them again.”

6401 N Clark St, Chicago“While moving our child into a new apartment in Chicago, we had a need to buy a room air conditioner, and some other odds and ends to fill out apartment life after graduating from college. Everyone I interacted with in the store was extremely helpful. It was like a hardware store from 10 or 20 years ago where everybody knew where everything was and helped you and was kind. They even have a parking lot that I could park my giant truck and they were amazing. Highly recommend.”
“I purchase from here frequently and they have all of the hardware that you would expect and then so much more! The best thing about Lemoi Ace Hardware is that the people who work there are incredibly knowledgeable and friendly”
“Very knowledgeable and helpful staff. They cut glass and fix window screens within walking distance of my home. Such a small store that’s filled with so much valuable stuff. A real hardware store!”

282 Messner Dr, Wheeling“We thought we'd add a digital scan of an invoice from the "original" True Value Company (for those that are interested in the company's history).”
“Helpful, knowledgable, and genuine people. A good selection of typical things you'd look for in a neighborhood hardware store. The lumber selection is pretty good, too, and the cuts they do (for a fee) are substantially better than big box stores. If they don't have something, folks I've talked to are more than happy to refer you to another local store that might help. My go-to for all hardware and projects.”
“Always have staff available to help which is a rarity these days. They've evolved their floor plan to have more home goods assortment also. Great paint department with on-staff expert willing to help with projects. Huge focus on grilling and smoking equipment too.”

5035 Oakton St, Skokie“I purchased a Toro Snow blower, even disassembled in the box, the snow blower would not fit in the trunk or back seat. Very nice folks there, they delivered it, complementary!
I am a vet, and that is the kind of service I appreciate!
I have been back to Ace Hardware.
Great place for specials and Ace Card!?”
“Really great Ace Hardware!! Their plant selection is actually really good and their equipment rental team is very helpful…lots of heavy machinery too not just small tools.”

1219 Wilmette Ave, Wilmette“My husband went there on my recommendation (we live in the city and were in the area) and he was skeptical that they would have what he needed. I waited in the car while he went in (he can be there for eternity) and he came back with everything on his list. He raved that they were friendly, knowledgeable and HELPFUL.He also said on the whole, the store was very clean and organized compared to the other smaller hardware stores closer to our condo.”
“Love this place. For the most part everyone is helpful and most are friendly lol. I hear a lot of people nicknamed the store; CRAPPY BEAVER! But I don't think it's CRAPPY at ALL!”
“Even though they didn't have everything I needed the employees were extremely friendly and helpful and were even able to tell me where I can get the other items that they didn't have in stock I will definitely be coming back to Ace”
“Went to get help with my Nissan key fob. I tried battery replacement at home. Staff tried my batteries and tested them. Then tried a battery and then determined it was the fob. The sell fobs and program them to”

8330 W Lawrence Ave, Norridge“I recently needed a handyman service to fix my front and back storm doors. There were issues with both doors that other handymen weren’t able to fix. Manny came out and identified the problems right away. He was able to get both doors back in working order quickly and efficiently!
Manny was knowledgeable and customer service oriented. He did a great job repairing both doors. I was very happy with the results. I would hope to use him in the future if I have additional handyman needs.
I give him 5 stars!”
“I've lived in Roger's Park since 60's and this is the first time I've ever been here. I was overwhelmed. Forgot to take pics inside.Needed keys made. 2 keys, a springy hoop key ring for under $7.00! Boom, Done!Compared to the key Kiosk at the Jewels, $13.50 plus 3 to 5 days shipping, no thanks.Support your local merchants.”

1590 Old Deerfield Rd, Highland Park“I forget about them because they're tucked back. Always drive by it but had to get spackling and a putty knife. So went there just like going to the old neighborhood hardware store. I missed that and I was able to get a pecan log?”
“I love my Ace here in Uptown! It's been here forever, and the staff is great. And it is like the TARDIS as one reviewer posted. They have way, way, way more items than any big box store, it's awesomely mind boggling. And the BEST part is it COSTS LESS!! Just take a look at the prices on their website compared to other stores. Solid PROOF. I don't even bother to go to any other stores once I saw the price differences online years ago and the selections. I'm so glad they were able to fix their store front, like the masonry and stuff, they deserved that fully. And with that area being revived, all the new buildings and rehabs I'm sure they will have even more customers. I just wish would extend their hours at least to 6pm so we could shop there after work but Saturday is fine for me for now. Thanks guys for being the best.”
“Great quality tools at reasonable prices.
The membership is very much worth it
This is my go to place for tools.
I just replaced all my yard tools with the Atlas cordless ones. Love them. Battery life is great and power is great! Plus much easier and hassle free with no cord!”
