i've had an incredible, uplifting experience working with debbie and chanel. everyone notices my glow and big smile even when i tell them it's a piece. this truly demonstrates the passion, love and care they have for their clients. for someone who has struggled for many years- continues to live with managing the condition (including thousands of dollars spent on cheap wigs) and to be able to smile and radiate is life changing!!

Debbie and Chanel are indeed industry leaders! They are passionate about helping their clients experiencing hair loss. They have such a deep level of understanding and respect for not only the physical; also the emotional and trauma that comes with battling hair loss and finding a solution. As someone who lives with Trichotillomania & hair loss; Debbie and Chanel have brought light into darkness. I’ve had numerous wigs throughout my hair loss journey, but never a solution.I found Hairlab Chicago and wish I would have found them sooner! During my consult, they listened and answered all my questions and concerns and set realistic expectations (which I appreciated greatly!)They were honest and delved into how our health impacts our hair (example: managing diabetes and proper hydration).I’ve had an incredible, uplifting experience working with Debbie and Chanel. They helped me find the perfect hair piece! Everyone I’ve met cannot tell it’s a hair piece due to how natural and fitting it is.Everyone notices my glow and BIG smile even when I tell them it’s a piece. This truly demonstrates the passion, love and care they have for their clients. For someone who has struggled for many years- continues to live with managing the condition (including thousands of dollars spent on cheap wigs) and to be able to SMILE AND RADIATE is life changing!!

What a terrible experience. Debbie and Chantel are very unprofessional. I do not recommend this place at all. I paid good money for a family member to have a microscope done. Not only did Debbie not keep these images (very questionable) but the exam was not thorough. She was not confident with the diagnosis and went around my questions and her responses did not make sense. She physically removed hair from the scalp (very unnecessary and don't fall for this) in order to give me a pdf that looks straight off the Internet on what to eat. I called other Tricologists and they each said that everything I told them was odd. I don't feel Debbie accurately or ethically performed the procedure and pocketed my money. They tried selling me expenses packages that were not needed. Chantel told my family member several times that her hair is not pretty, to let her cut it, and she'll be happy doing the treatment. All they care about is money and duping people who are going through stressful situations. What kind of a business person insults a client like this? They also sold me hair products that are carcinogenic. I looked up the ingredients and these are the worse products for your health. Do not purchase and you can check for yourself. I say go to a place that is reputable, empathetic, and who truly wants to help make a difference in people's lives and not look to how they can take advantage of you. Debbie is very condescending and untrustworthy. Start questioning her and you will see the red flags. By far the worse experience and I will never go back or ever recommend.

This was the worst hair appointment of my life. I came in with a brand new unit in hopes for a cut in. I was at this salon for over 8 hours only to get the brand new unit completely destroyed. During my appointment my stylist Chanel said several times that she needed to buy me new unit and that she doesn't usually do these. Here is what went wrong. They did not have the correct glue for lace. The glue was applied to both the lace and my scalp (a huge no-no to the lace). I even mentioned it. Five minutes later the glue had seeped all the way through the lace. This caused a disaster. My hair was covered in glue. I then had to have someone come drop proper glue off (why offer a service if you are not even prepared). Then once it was on she literally cut the hair on the back shorter than my real hair! Between the glue disaster and the cut my brand new system was ruined. My stylist kept apologizing to me says she would buy me a new unit and she is sorry that she doesn't really do these. I got sent home with an awful cut, my day wasted and glue was coated all over my hair! I then stopped in the next day to show them the disaster and no one was at the salon. I had left a voicemail with Debbie and she eventually got back to me. I told her what happened. She refunded me the money for the cut in service but not the unit. She even expressed how she shouldn't have even taken me as they normally only do woman's hair. I told her that I would then like a refund for my unit that her inexperienced stylist had botched. I told her how much my hair cost, she than said " they don't cost that much". Again why would she know if she doesn't use this hair often at her salon. I sent her an email with the invoice. I got no response. The super frustrating part is that I waited 6 months for this hair to come in from back order (350$). I ended up having to wait 2 weeks with an awful head of hair on to emergency fly to New York City to have my unit done correctly. The stylists jaws hit the ground when they saw what hairlab Chicago had done to me. The whole experience was traumatizing and stressful and I wasn't heard by owner! In my opinion if you knew better and even admitted that she shouldn't have accepted me as client, then why make me responsible for your mistake! I would never let a client walk out looking like this and then hold them financially responsible. Over all Debbie doesn't want to take responsibility for the mistake and I'm here to warn any further men to not come here! I am completely disgusted and disappointed with my experience here. Apparently it's my fault for getting my hair done there? I just don't get Debbie's logic. They should really take full responsibility to make this right on their end. I have pictures and videos of the whole experience.

Debbie has been coloring my hair for over 3 years now. I started as a colorist client and moved into the extension world with Debbie and Chanel over the last two years. I can’t express how comfortable I feel with the both of them, how professional and experienced they are makes me feel so safe and confident that I made the right choice choosing them. You’re family when you’re there. You’re a team and the work isn’t done until everyone is satisfied. I look forward to my hair days because it’s more than hair, it’s a friendship, a partnership and family.

Hairlab is a great place to go for hair styling and treatments. I was a bit skeptical about visiting but both Chanel and Deb make you feel comfortable and they really have some advance treatments I have not seen any place else. Definitely worth a visit.

I started with Chanel and Deb almost 5 years ago. A former hairdresser burnt my hair and went from long beautiful hair to short hair very short. I was devastated because I love long hair. Chanel and Deb made it happen for me. I started with them with Lux extensions, scalp treatments, then CNC and of course beautiful stunning hair coloring. Nothing I tried with them was a disappointment. Their excellence, knowledge and passion definitely show and manifest in the result!Hairlab is like my second home I go there for beautiful hair but also a wonderful chat and fun time with great friends!

From my first visit which was in March 2017 which is when they were just starting off, I have had nothing but a fabulous experience. They treat you like family and make sure your are comfortable prior to making a decision. To be honest when I first spoke to them, I was going to cancel and try other options. Every piece I have Debbie is able to color use her color skills to match my natural color and Chanel uses her artistic cutting skills to make my piece more realistic. I have tried other people but the quality they give beats the competition out of the water ..

I got duped into buying a piece that didn't match my hair at all. I spent almost $2000 for something that should never have been purchased for me. They tried to band aid it with a perm but you cannot replicate my curls with a perm!!! Plus it is so much thicker than my real hair it just looks ridiculous. The point of this place is to walk out with something that covers up the thinning hair problem, but my piece accentuates it because I don't have enough hair to cover it up properly. They led me down the wrong path every step of the way.

My 21 year old daughter has had alopecia areata for many years, but had been able to hide it with various products and creativity. Unfortunately, her hair loss was severe enough over the holidays that she could no longer hide her hair loss and did not know what she was going to do. We were very fortunate to learn about Hairlab Chicago. Debbie and Chanel were able to see my daughter the following day and spent an extended amount of time with her and myself trying find the right prosthetic for her to wear confidently. My daughter was due to return to school and Debbie and Chanel went above and beyond to help my daughter transition through what was a very difficult event in her life. I highly recommend Hairlab Chicago for their services and the quality of care they were able to provide my daughter.
