I purchased my wife a $1,000 gift card on the website. We live in Springfield, IL and on Saturday Nov. 19 th we drove to the Northbrook store so my wife could try on a coat. It is a 3 1/2 hour drive. We left in the morning and called to ensure that the store was open. They said yes, come on in. By the time we arrived around 2 PM, the store was closed. I contacted the Max Mara company to complain but they have the $1,000 and they don't really care. Since my wife is no longer interested in doing business with this chain, I requested they send me a physical plastic gift card to replace the electronic one I had purchased. I assumed I could give the card to someone else. They emailed me to say that this was not possible. This chain operates in a very unprofessional and customer-hostile manner.
