I love going here and worth the hour drive to do all my grocery shopping especially because I can't eat first and it's clean. Fruits and vegetables are fresh, the meat quality is very fresh and worth your money and cheaper than other grocery stores. Their kimbap is bigger than other Asain grocery stores. The food court is amazing, the service is great, and everyone is very nice. I've tried everything there the oxtail soup is delicious I highly recommend and I also like the fact that you can get half black bean noodles, and the jambong ( looks spicy but it's very nice and not to overpowering) in one bowl that spilts both meals. They also have the different Korean corn dogs and wings are amazing. Lots of seating and defiantly wheelchair accessible. The main reason I go there is because I get my hair done (cut and color) and it's pricey and the service at the salon is always great!

Not really sure what happened, but Assi seems to have gone downhill in terms of their produce and their overall selection of items - it's extremely limited in terms of brands, so if you're comparing, you won't find a particular brand or a variety of selections as other international/Asian stores. I was looking for a particular brand of sauces and condiments, but they didn't have them! Even the more 'popular' brands, they didn't carry, which was bit strange. I did notice, however, that they did have more of an extensive offering of Chinese brands/products. The place seems to not be upkept well, as it was a little dingy. The expiration dates on products were coming up within a month, so you can tell that some of the more competitively-priced items had a reason for it being slightly cheaper! Getting in and out of the plaza is bit of a pain due to oncoming traffic, and there isn't a designated traffic light. If you live locally, you can use the residential streets to get into their lot. +not a wide selection of products +plenty of parking in plaza

Assi has been a reliable grocery store for my family for a couple of years now! We like to do some last minute shopping here because they have an array of groceries that we need for everyday. They have a decent price on just about everything (maybe even cheaper than H-Mart by just a little bit). I like how groceries aren't hard to find and it's not super overwhelming to shop here. I do wish that this place got a bit of a revamping! There are many areas in the grocery store that looks worn-in but not in a good way. Even the bathrooms are very dirty and the lighting is always a bit dark and depressing. If they invested a bit in making this grocery store look more sterile, bright, and new I'm sure that the customers will appreciate and enjoy shopping here for longer as well as bring in new customers as well.FYI - There is also a small food court near the check out counter that sells meals and Korean snacks and other small businesses that sell skin care and home goods!

This is near Patel brothers, Joong Boo, in fact, all on same road. It's a lot smaller and produces didn't look fresh. Only a handful of customers and tiny food court. Prices aren't that attractive either. Glad I checked it out and will stuck to Joong Boo for Asian products.

I found a hair in my soup (in the shrimp) when I was eating at Lai Lai restaurant and I let the worker know, she rudely gave me my money back with ZERO apology. Don't come here, very unsanitary.

Well worth the trip for decent priced Korean food. There are also other small restaurants inside where you can pick what you want to eat although the choices of Korean takeout are limited that day when we went. They had plentiful amounts of banchan and ramen, but limited amounts of certain Korean beverage. Will go again when given the chance.

And no star for their customer service. I was there the other afternoon. I was at checkout, there was a customer ahead of me but started arranging my sauces to the counter when the bagger started rearranging them, I can tell with the way he move that he was angry. When he finished he turn around and said in Tagalog, "They don't have brains". I could not believe it! I looked at the cashier no reactions. I'm not sure if she understands what the bagger just said. I decided to let it go. After paying, I thank the bagger by saying in Tagalog, "Thank you very Kuya." He didn't responded. The store is very quiet every time I am shopping here. Could it be the bad service?

It was really barren, which I understand is due to supply shortages, but it was also a bit messy. We weren't able to find any of what we were looking for so hopped over to H-Mart instead. It does stink, but that's to be expected in a market with such an expansive seafood offering. The kimchi king mandu from the food court upstairs was disappointing, really lacking in flavor. My mom loved her meat one though so there is that! I wouldn't return personally.

This market is real bad place for shopping. I worked in Evanston few years ago, I used to shop there, back then they were so busy all the time. Then I moved to the city. For some reason I had to go to Skokie, by the way I went there two weeks ago. I was so surprised when I walked in.there was so quiet.but later I found out why, number one is they have bad products (the vegetables were not fresh at all.) , number two is very very very bad service, they were so so so rude, especially the cashier who wears the glasses , she was worst one. I wish I knew her name. I won't go back to shop forever. I would give zero star if I could......

This place is horrible when it comes to service animal. I brought a service animal with me, a hypoallergenic one and doesn't shed either. I was ask by an employee to step out because they said they don't allow service animal in the place because my dog could shed and people might have allergies, even if I told him my dog is hypoallergenic and doesn't shed. Mind you it was so early and the morning and there are like 5 customers in the store! Never again! So if you have a service dog and has a disability , this is not the place for you. Go somewhere.

"Happy world K-pop store" Nice amount of k-pop stuff. We came to Chicago for other kpop stores but found this place near our hotel. Not bad. Almost 5 stars. Only 4 because the amount of stuff was about 7x7. Add more k-pop and I will give you 5 stars. Recommend for kpop/k-pop lovers

This place so great but I still have a few problems with it. 1) It's hard to find things even with the signs up saying where to find something. 2) The employees don't always know where to find an object. 3) The store kinda needs remodeling. But other then that I still love to shop here and will continue.

If you're not willing to go all the way to the city for your Asian groceries this is a good alternative. They have a wider selection available for their store items due to their size. They have a food court that's open for business during the pandemic. It's a nice place to grab a bite to eat before or after you shop. They have some pretty decent sushi rolls. Try to take advantage if you see it. Not sure if they still do this but later in the day sometime during traffic hour they have half off their rolls to ensure they have only fresh rolls made from that day. I discovered this by accident. It's not bad for grocery sushi. The old couple there are pretty good about making it for you on the fly too. Personally would rather get my rolls from an Asian grocery store than a non-Asian grocery store no offense. The food court didn't look like it was enforcing social distancing too much so be careful in that area. If anything get your orders to go.
