The hotel itself is ok. It’s clear either a lot of smokers stay here or the hall just has the old smoke smell. Rooms smell clean though. Definitely not the top of the line Townes Place we have stayed at. The “full” kitchen with “the essentials” is a pretty bad description. The stove is a two burner electric, we had one tiny frying pan and a larger pot that was bowed so it didn’t sit right. I tried to make popcorn like I do at home with it and the pot wobbled the whole time and didn’t heat evenly ending in burnt popcorn. We had two heating/AC units in our room. One of them the fan didn’t work and the gal at the front desk said she was going to have someone look at it, but the two nights we were there nothing was done. The pull out didn’t have a slip cover and was pretty worn, but our teenager didn’t complain. The first night the pool was wonderful. The water was actually warm. The hot tub was clean, but the jets weren’t fully working. The second night after a long day we wanted to use the hot tub, but apparently the general manager allowed the Fairfield guests to come across the parking lot to use the pool area. This resulted in several unsupervised teenagers, water coming all the way out the door, and the area left a huge mess. Including questionable brown stuff on some of the towels. The hot top was missing a large amount of water and had cloudy water. The pool had what looked to be soap suds in it. This group had monopoly of the pool area for over three hours. Just to find out they weren’t even guests at this hotel. The staff should have made sure they were adequately supervised and the supervision was actually watching them and keeping them in line. The bed in our room is clearly worn and need of replacement soon. We are consistent in staying at Marriotts because of the high standard they are supposed to hold. Especially with their Townes Place Suites line. We also like the option of a kitchen. I have learned to bring my own frying pans and just forgot a pot this time around. The gal at the front desk did state she contacted the general manager after I stated that I would be placing a corporate review. Something I will be doing. However this does not make up for the ability to not relax in a hot tub we pay to use. After a super long day before a travel day. The shower also had some mildew in it on it one of the soap trays, but I was willing to look past it and let them know it needed to be stripped and caulked again. The location was great for what we needed, but some much needed improvements and customer service is needed. Respect the customers who pay at the hotel before making convenience for others. The hotel across the street should have discounted their rooms in some way if they did not have fully functioning facilities. Not send their guests over to make a mess at a different hotel that also clearly has issues with their hot tub.

My recent stay at TownePlace Suites was a disheartening experience. Upon checking into my room, I found that the beds weren't made, and trash from previous occupants was still inside, indicating a severe lapse in cleanliness. The hole in the lobby ceiling was a glaring symbol of the property's decline, and the overall atmosphere felt increasingly trashy. The fact that the hot tub was out of order was the final straw, especially considering that previous management upheld higher standards. The only consolation was encountering a few familiar, dedicated staff members in what has become a subpar environment. I hope Marriott can address these issues promptly, as my confidence in the property has seriously dwindled.Rooms: trashySafety: hole on ceiling

I would not recommend a stay here. My bathroom was not clean and nothing was done to remedy the situation. At first it was just hair in the sink that I shrugged off. I travel regularly for business so I’m pretty realistic with my expectations. However, the next morning I found more hair in the shower, along with a bug, and a used washcloth. Upon notifying the front desk, no resolution was offered. In fact the first person I told seemed rather indifferent. Later that evening I followed up with someone else and was promised points for my experience. I have since followed up and over a month later have yet to receive the points. Also worth noting, it was rare to see someone at the desk and the property itself is pretty run down. I would look elsewhere for your next stay.

The pictures of this hotel on a variety of websites are cleverly staged, and they must have paid for positive reviews: plainly, this hotel is a dump. With each layer, a surprise: the pot-holed parking lot in a ditch lined with squatters' semis and rvs, the torn chairs in the lobby with its funky smell, and the room. It was damp, dirty, and smelled worse. We were exhausted from our long trip, but neither one of us could bring ourselves to touch anything.Marriott, what happened to you??Please be forewarned: do not use this hotel. Certainly, do not give them a payment method until you or someone you trust have seen the actual room.It was an expensive nightmare.

I just got home from staying 4 nights . After reading some of the prior reviews I wasn't sure what this hotel was going to be like. I am pleased to say we had a great stay. We were on the 4th floor and overlooked the water. Great big windows, very clean unit. Bed was very comfortable. We ate all our meals out but did enjoy the full size fridge.Everyone that worked there were friendly and always said hello. I only grabbed coffee in the morning and it was good. It looked like they had lots of good choices to have for breakfast. Parking was no problem. Lots of lights. I always felt safe. I wish people would stop giving negative reviews for such silly things. Some people should just stay at home and not travel.I would stay here again anytime in the future.

As a former guest at the Marriott hotel in Naperville I am greatly disappointed in the treatment I have received. As a former guests I come to the area often to walk the path by the river. So I say that to say this I felt that while waiting for my confirmation to check in my room. That it was ok and I was allowed to use the washroom. Unfortunately today I found out that if I’m not a current guest then I’m not allowed. Which causes me to be confused because there is no sign stating that you have to stay there to use a public washroom that made for current and non current guests. Also the young lady who was working the desk around 1pm barged in the public washroom knocking on my stall telling me I need to be out because maintenance was needed. So I came out of the stall her and one of your housekeepers were standing in the doorway to escort me out as if I had committed a crime. Also when I left out of the washroom to request to speak to manager her and the housekeeper did not do the maintenance to the washroom that they spoke of.But moving forward I spoke with the regional manager on duty about the issue and he stated that there were concerns about me using the washroom which I’m still confused about.Because he never stated the concerns. So therefore I was in aware that it was issue. He then proceeded to check to see if I had reservations there and unfortunately there was a mistake with my reservation they were made at another hotel. So I explained that to him and I also asked if it was ok if I could sit in the common area he stated yes just for a little bit. Which made me feel upset due to the fact that I have stayed at this location and you allow your staff to treat current and non current guest with disrespect, discrimination, racism and harassment. I hope this review reaches the higher ups and that something can be done about this situation.Rooms: ……………….,,.

Fantastic experience. We checked in here after a 9 hour drive and a concert in Chicago, and the man who checked us in was awesome. Without even asking, he gave us a complementary late checkout and offered to open up the pool if we decided we wanted to swim since it was already closed. Room and breakfast was also great.

The room was dirty. Hair and dirt all over the place and smells very bad. The hotel is near the highway and traffic noice is very loud - so good luck to get enough sleep. The staff uncooperative especially a guy his name is Pavel - very arrogant and does not respect the customers. You will have a feeling of what I am talking about the moment you step in the hotel and smell the dirt. I am shocked how the hotel is still operating like this. Never going back again.

This was one of my least favorite spots I stayed in. The location is off the highway near few places fun places for both adults and children but it most definitely needs an upgrade.

Avoid avoid avoid. I've been to many Marriott properties, and this is one of the two I've found the staff to be extremely unprofessional. When I walked in, the door was locked, which I can appreciate additional security when in comes to spending the night at hotels and not allowing people off the street to walk in. But then, I called the hotel, multiple times, could hear the phone ringing from where I was standing outside, yet no answer. The front desk at hotels should be staffed at all times, so at this point I was ready to walk away and book somewhere else as I've gotten no response and figured no one was working. At last, after a few times of calling--someone finally picks up, asks how they can help me. I say I'm out front, waiting to get in to check in. No response on the phone, then 20 seconds later I get buzzed into the lobby. Obviously annoyed, I give the guy who came out from hiding my ID and credit card, and then I say something along the lines of "does this hotel not require anyone to answer the phone or let people in when they arrive?". He did not acknowledge the comment, apologize for his lack of effort at his job, or show any bit of care. Check in process complete, did not acknowledge my status as they're supposed to at Marriott properties, and then I say something again--hey it'd be nice if someone answered the phone the first time and let me in, instead of me waiting outside calling multiple times, I was ready to walk away. His response was "I got one phone call and answered it". I could hear the phone ringing, along with the fact I know I called more than once, but wasn't worth the argument. I did not appreciate his lack of ownership to him not doing his job. This hotel needs to look into finding new staff who don't mind doing the basics of their job and can be professional to the guests. Room itself was a little outdated but fine.UPDATE: leaving this AM, there was a woman working the front desk who seemed happy and friendly. So they do have some good staff, I just had a poor experience.

Honestly nothing fabulous! Location is great. I'm surprised about the 4.5 rating.Hotel is very dated. For heaven's sake, get a new flag. That flag you have outside doesn't even look like an American flag! Disgraceful! Are you proud to be American or not??
