Very difficult to get a live person on the phone. No sense of urgency in responding to questions left on VM (only option given to communicate with their staff) Poor customer service

They have been our accounting firm for the past 10 years. My wife and I have had complex tax returns for all of these years. We have multiple and evolving W2s, 1099s, LLCs, real estate investments, etc. Steve's firms has handled all of these accounting activities well and at a fair price. I highly recommend them.

Unfortunately, I had to delete my 5-star rating which I left 8 years ago. I cannot endorse this company anymore. I worked directly with Mr. Heeley in the past, and it was a great experience as he truly helped me understand my situation and how to resolve it. This year, I couldn't even get a hold of him and was told by reception that he had stepped back from the daily operation. I worked with one of his underlings, who wasn't very helpful to be honest. When I asked follow-up questions and for general advice, he almost seemed unaware that this was part of the service. He even challenged my expenses and had to explain it to him. $400 later, I was left disappointed along with my tax bill. Find some else or just use TurboTax

Steven was great when he worked out of his home office. Once he got into the office in Naperville, things went south. Too many issues to list, but a couple of memorable ones are that he entered my husband's wrong soc number and it was a mess to fix with Illinois, in which I had to deal with on my own, Stephen offered no help, but rather nodded his head when I went back into the office and showed him. I do agree with the previous review about Colleen. She is unprofessional and has no clue as to what's going on.

Beware for next Tax Season!!! (thank me later!) DO NOT GO HERE!!!!! Harpreet, Colleen & Steven are all garbage. Harpreet expressed that my taxes would not be filed until payment was received in full. He e-filed anyway before me paying in full,(without me knowing) huge screw up with my taxes an entire year later, a nightmare I now have to deal with. Colleen is extremely unprofessional & rude and prides herself on being the "Office Manager"(yikes) whom also acknowledged that she went and filed with Harpreet's consent prior to receiving payment in full they also acknowledged that they "forgot about me" so it's my fault lol (I paid you to forget me???). False advertising, among other errors in my experience with them. Reporting the firm to the IRS immediately! You would think these guys had some class being in Naperville. Think again! These guys will ruin your return! Please, if you're new and looking go ELSEWHERE!!! No remorse, no sincerity, nothing. Bunch of idiots, alllll of them. What a total sham. Bunch of clowns running all around this agency. By the way, they told me they e-filed without my consent because they knew I was expecting a child soon LOL mind you, wouldn't of made any much of a difference either way I also was not close to the deadline for filing so there was no expediting necessary!!! Cheap escape route, which also makes no sense and they're using me and the proximity of giving birth as an excuse to e-file early and without my consent as I was advised (and probably you, too!) that THEY DO NOT FILE TAXES UNTIL PAID IN FULL - WHICH MAKES SENSE!!!!! Steven - owner of the firm never addressed my email/concerns and when speaking with Colleen she said "Steven said we are not reimbursing you for the mistakes we made" Worst firm I have ever dealt with. WOW. Could care less about the money, truly it's the principal. These guys are tasteless crooks! Friendly advice for anyone who wants to file a complaint with the IRS for any situations similar to this --- Reference this link for proper forms to file a complaint towards a firm/ tax preparer... Please trust this review, I also have screen shots for anyone who wants them lol. What a mess! Also - Steven responds to yelp reviews and you can tell he takes pride in being "the right one". There is no ownership or genuinity in this firm at all. Makes me really question what they did with my return last year. F&%@#$(% Frauds!!

Bad experience... Didn't pay our taxes on time. We got an IRS late fee which they had to reimburse me for. For this reason alone, we had to take our business elsewhere.

I wanted to like them and they seemed nice at first. But, wait until you actually have a problem. The right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing. They make promises without any follow through. I chose them to make my complicated life easier but their lack of follow-through made small problems big problems, and so much more complicated. Constant revolving door at the front desk caused even more confusion. Such a frustrating firm to work with!

I have been a client of SLHEELEY since Steve worked out of his house and I've always been pleased with his work. But this year, I received exceptional service from tax preparer, Mr. HARPREET SINGH of the SLHeeley staff. After submitting my tax year 2018 paperwork in early March, I learned that I'd omitted an important Form/Schedule. Mr. Singh took my phone calls, answered my questions, offered possible options, saw me without a scheduled appointment, made all the necessary changes to my returns and reassured me. Thank you Mr. Singh! I was able to file my taxes on time. And to Steve I'd like to say, Mr. HARPREET SINGH is an asset to your staff.
