I signed up for a one-month membership for my daughter, who only needed the gym temporarily, but was unexpectedly billed monthly after that initial month without signing up for any ongoing membership. When I visited in July to cancel, I was told they were in the process of a buyout by LA Fitness, and to return later to speak with a manager. Over the next few months, I returned three separate times, each time encountering a different story about why the cancellation couldn’t be processed.
Finally, a staff member named Sarah agreed to cancel the membership and initiate a refund, pending approval. She promised to call me back, but after multiple calls and messages from my side, I only got a response to tell me the membership was canceled—without any refund—and was advised that I’d need to go to court to pursue it. When I contacted LA Fitness directly, their membership services manager , Javier, said they couldn’t assist because the buyout didn't include handling previous charges, even though they continued billing under the acquired membership.
This entire experience has been incredibly frustrating. The lack of accountability and transparency is alarming. Be cautious about sharing your card details with this gym; it seems they have no integrity when it comes to handling memberships and cancellations.

This business has zero interest in fixing the sauna room. Which is something you pay for and as a health positive should have. Paying their rent for empty space.

I’ve gone to this gym for a long time mostly because the price is reasonable and they have a pool for lap swimming. I also like that they don’t overbook it with classes so I usually can get in and just swim laps without having to wait too long. But the reason I am writing the review today is I called to verify if they had classes today. The staff said they may not because they closed it in the morning to have the tech check the levels. But if I came in the next couple hours to call first to make sure. I then got a call back in a few minutes I wasn’t expecting to tell me the tech was there and working on the issue and it should be resolved soon. I was really surprised to see that level of customer service when I did not ask from a gym. Thanks to that staff person

I recently joined the LA Fitness Signature Club and have been really impressed with the overall experience so far. The facility is spacious, modern, and well-maintained, which makes working out here enjoyable. They have a wide variety of equipment, from free weights and machines to cardio equipment, so there’s always something available even during peak hours. The cleanliness of the gym is consistently high, with staff frequently sanitizing equipment and the locker rooms.
The group fitness classes are a huge plus. They offer everything from yoga and Pilates to high-intensity interval training and spinning. The instructors are knowledgeable, motivating, and make sure to cater to all fitness levels. I’ve tried several classes and have found each one to be engaging and challenging in the best way.
One of the standout features of the Signature Club is the amenities. The sauna, steam room, and whirlpool are great for relaxation after a tough workout. The locker rooms are also spacious and well-equipped, with plenty of showers, changing areas, and even some extra perks like towels and toiletries.
The only reason I’m not giving five stars is the membership cost, which is a bit higher than standard LA Fitness locations. However, considering the added benefits and the quality of the facilities, I think it’s worth the investment if you’re looking for a comprehensive fitness experience.
Overall, I highly recommend the LA Fitness Signature Club for anyone who is serious about their fitness journey and looking for a gym that offers a little bit of everything. It’s definitely one of the best fitness clubs in the area!

Feedback on Gym Facilities
I truly enjoy this gym and appreciate the wide range of services it offers. However, I have some concerns regarding the management and maintenance of certain facilities
Issues with Sauna and Steam Room
Unfortunately, the sauna and steam room have been out of service for nearly a year. This has been disappointing for many members who rely on these amenities for their fitness and relaxation routines.
### Recent Developments
Interestingly, the steam room has recently started functioning again, but it only operates during limited hours, typically from 8 or 9 AM. This schedule seems illogical, as it restricts access for members who may want to use it earlier in the day.
### Seeking Solutions
I believe it may be worth exploring whether there are any legal avenues to address these ongoing issues. Can I ask for my money back? However, my primary hope is that the management can prioritize the maintenance of these facilities to enhance the overall experience for all members.
Thank you for considering this feedback!

This gym has awesome staff and classes. Only issue is we’re paying a membership fee but haven’t been able to access the stream room or sauna in almost a year. This was a perk for me when signing up at LA Fitness. It’s always the same answer “we’re waiting on the parts”. I’m about to cancel and go to VASA. I visited the gym with my son and it’s way better, spacious and a lot of equipment.

Parking lot is filthy, the gym does what a gym does. Let’s see if LA fitness cleans it up.

Was previously a part of XSport and was brought over to LA Fitness during the buy out and I decided to cancel my membership. A quick 20 seconds on the phone with Jeff got my situation sorted properly. Jeff was well mannered and knowledgeable about how I would go about canceling the membership.

This place is a dump. The sauna has not worked for a year with no explanation. It is dimly lit. The worst part is the people sit on their machines doing nothing but staring at their phones. Hey, go to Starbucks if you want to sit and do nothing. Other clubs have posted signs to tell people to not just sit on the equipment. The staff does zero. The new Lifetime Fitness on 59 cannot open soon enough.

This gym is an absolute joke. Steam and Sauna have been out of service for more than a year now and they refuse to do anything about it. You’re paying full price with only half the amenities working.

The steam room and sauna have been out of service the entire time i’ve been a member here. It’s ridiculous. The other day, half of the stair machines were not working (yes literally 50% of them when the gym is busy which is inexcusable) Usually at least 4+ treadmills also have a sign that they maintenance at any given time and are unable to be used. For the membership price here it’s ridiculous to basically only have the amenities that planet fitness offers
