The man behind the deli was unprofessional and racist. He was talking out loud about how much he hates white women as he's cutting the meat for everyone to hear. He even went so far to explain out loud he hates white women because that's how he was raised by his mother. He kept repeating himself as if he wanted to make sure everyone heard him. It was September 17 2024 in the early evening. The whole situation was odd since the neighborhood is primarily white and the people in the store are primarily white. I myself am spanish but often mistaken for white. I make this clear because he kept saying this while he was looking at me, so I felt wrongfully subjected to his abusive behavior. It was as if he was announcing he hates the community and would like to be fired. I sure didn't appreciate it when I was trying to get a half pound of turkey. Because the man couldn't stop verbally announcing his hatred towards the race of the community, he had to ask me 8 times my order of a half pound of turkey. There was an older woman working with him at the time not saying a word, but not helping customers either. She was just standing there while this strange situation was going on. I been patronizing jewel osco for over 25 years throughout chicagoland. I never saw anything like this from employees. The management needs to step up and control their employees better. Customers should not be subjected to racism from an employee.

The awareness of the needs of handicapped people at this store needs to be improved.I shopped the flower tent today. Do it every year. Typically there is a cashier. Not today. As a disabled person. I had to use a cart and walk with it. Sounds normal, right? Its not my norm. I typically ride one of the electric scotters but, not avail in the flower tent. Sk I had to walk uphill (very difficult for heart patients) through the store and check out on my weak legs and heart.

I’ve lived in the area for 7 years and have consistently received poor experiences at the Naperville Jewel. I prefer the Maple Jewel. The attitude of those in Naperville is a “mightier than thou” and better than the customers of a certain color. I will consistently see white customers before me greeted and those after me greeted. In the Maple Jewel I’ve never had one issue with their service employees. Naperville Jewel, DO BETTER!!!

Ultimate Thanksgiving turkey package was perfect. Service was awesome. Selection of cookies made my mouth water. Thank you for being open on Thanksgiving.
