My fiancé and I went ring shopping at James & Sons, Hope was AMAZING! We really had no idea about anything when it came to diamonds and how to shop for them. Hope was such a wonderful help, answered all of our questions and went above and beyond to help us. She took us seriously which was not how we felt walking into a few other jewelry store downtown Naperville. Thank you Hope!! We appreciate you!

I texted some photos of Estate jewelery as well as a description of each piece with the price I needed which I prices well below wholesale. I also told the salesperson Samantha that I was communicating with that was very professional and easy to talk to. I did not tell her I was a retired large volume Estate Buyers that retired in 2019 as well as a GG for over 45 years. Myself or anyone else in this business has a Fiduciary responsibility with their customer in this instance me to say either I will pass but not make an offer on Each item that was insulting. Ask your jeweler or anyone you know if the numbers I am giving you on two of the items are a fair offer. Look up pieces on the Internet or check on Cartier of Tiffany's website for a comparable black pearl ring in platinum as see for your self. John the owner offered me $400 on a rose gold diamond and seed pearls pendant from the 1930's with three carats of pave' diamonds HI VS diamonds and a gold weight of 8.7dts. John offered me $500 for a customer thru Cad program 16mm. Gem Black Pearl clean skin high luster with green overtones in a Pt959 mounting set with 1.88cts of 2mm. round ideal cut diamonds FG in color and VVS/VS in clarity. John I assume you know this grade ofmellee will cost you or anyone else $600 a carat. John I would assume the prices you offered on the 12 pieces you looked at are what you would offer on any estate jewelry you make an offer on,correct? Anyone reading this review what do you think regarding Johns offers! Did he fulfil his Fiduciary responsibility to his client,me? John made the offers so he must have felt with his number of years as an expert they were fair offers don't you think or John would not have taken time to look at each piece and make a offer to buy if he did not want the jewelry. I will let the readers decide but in my humble opinion I fell the offers John made were insulting to say the least! If you are looking at a car to buy would you know ball the deal? Please tell John how you feel about this situation I am sure he would love to hear from you! All of the twelve items offered on we very saleable not breakers. The quality was fine to gem quality on the two Opal rings and South Sea Pearls. Please tell me and all your readers on how you came up with the offers of $500 each on the two large pearls and you would not break these down and sell for parts. It's like a Math test you gave an answer of $500 for each ring but did not show your work so you flunked the test unless you can show me your work. Your offers were so low that any pawnbroker or estate buyer would be in awe of how you came up with these numbers. I tried to respond to Johns comments but I was blocked from adding to my review Regarding Mr. Sunderland comments to my reviews: Please explain to me on how you came to the offers of $500 each on the platinum,diamond,and South Sea Pearl rings.If you could please explain how you came to these numbers as they make no sense at all! Also there was not a cameo pendant but a diamond pendant with 3 carats of diamonds,two multi row pearl bracelets not seed pearl bracelets one had 1.25cts. in diamonds,and a fine Ceylon Star Sapphire and diamond ring. None of the items were of commercial quality and there is a market for jewelry items like these and the other 8 items offers were made on and they are not items that would be sold for parts. The offers were low ball offers and someone with Gemological knowledge as a GIA GG for over 45 years questions the offers and Mr. Sunderland could not justify the offers plain and simple! It is my error my response was not blocked it just took three times to get my response through. I just looked at the offersfrom James and Sons and they were the most insulting low offers that made no sense,rhyme,or reason.They should be ashamed for making these offers. How could they have a perfect 5 stars on all reviews when I gave them a one star review please when reading this review think it about what I said as it was very frustrating

Excellent place. I personally couldn’t recommend James and Sons more. We bought an engagement ring here. They are very professional and knowledgeable. Gracie our salesperson was amazing. She was such a big help and was so nice throughout the whole process. No one was ever pushy and we felt very comfortable. Go to James and Sons and see Gracie for any jewelry needs!
