I tried adopting a dog there and was told my family was the perfect candidate to adopt him and later when I took my dogs to meet him since,I already have two prior in my home and was hoping they have more friends besides each other, but was immediately pushed away and when I told them I had an appointment the clerk told me I don't see your name or even remember at all. When I finally got my dogs to meet, this blond dog trainer only allowed them to meet through a leash walk instead of allowing to meet naturally. When I clearly told her my dogs don't like to be leashed since they get very aggressive when leashed and still did the opposite of what I told her. When my dogs didn't get along with the meet up, the clerk became more happy saying no you can't have the dog since they don't get along. She was more happy saying no than saying yes to my appointment schedule. Will not go ever again. I feel bad for the dogs there not being able to be adopted, but for some reason cats are easier to get than dogs over here.

I can't believe I hadn't reviewed Adopt previously. My dear sweet Calliecakes is from this shelter, so I am forever grateful that they rescued her. My parents saw her at the shelter back in 2012 and texted me her photo (because they knew I wanted a cat), and I was like "yes absolutely I want her I will come get her." And the rest is history -- it's been 11 great years with my bestie (and hopefully many more). And then a year later, almost to the day, my parents were like "hey let's go to Adopt" the day after Thanksgiving and they ended up getting a cat (their second) for themselves. I haven't been back to the shelter since 2013 when I went with them when they decided to get their cat, but at that time the shelter was super nice and they had several rooms where cats could roam free. It was a nice, no-stress situation to be able to sit on a sofa or on the floor and have the cats come check you out. So many snuggles. And I follow them on Instagram and they continue to do great work and care deeply for the animals they rescue. Definitely check them out if you are looking for a new best friend! And now enjoy the cat photo spam/cat tax :)

This place cares for all those animals found, given up and no longer wanted. The animals receive loving care and attention.I adopted from Adopt a pet.

Laney Bear was living in the fields with coyotes for months and terrified of everyone. I was worried about bringing her to get fixed but they were so good with her! I was so thankful! :) And affordable! Here's a pic of Laney after she decided to play in the mud! It took months of patience but she's a very happy dog today... and spayed! Great clinic!

Please DO NOT neuter or spay your pets here. We brought in our 2-year old golden retriever foster pup for her spay, and when we went to go pick her back up, they carried her to the car completely “sedated.” We asked about this as this has never been our experience before, and they informed us that this was normal. When we got home 25 minutes later, she was still unconscious so we called A.D.O.P.T again to check-in. We mentioned we suspect her gums were a light pink, and the person on the phone checked with a vet and assured us that all of this was normal. About 30 minutes after our call, our pup started gasping for air. We rushed her to a trusted vet, but they could not save her. A spay is a routine procedure and had there been complications, they should have informed us and kept our pup for observation. Instead, after promising us her condition was normal, they informed our trusted vet that our pup walked to the car after her procedure, happily wagging her tail. There are no words to describe how I feel about this situation, and the staff at A.D.O.P.T. Not only is this veterinary neglect, but inhumane. Please, DO NOT, bring your pets here.

They have a bunch of cats that need good homes and we were rejected because we laser declawed our other cat so it would not tear up our house with its front claws.Don't bother trying to give a cat a loving home from ADOPT if you want to have the cat laser declawed because you will be rejected.

Wouldnt let me adopt just a single kitten. No problems with me or my household, just can only adopt 2 kittens. What kind of rule is that? This rule to either adopt 2+ kittens or none at all was stated nowhere on the website and not even when i called ahead. Staff was trying to use manipulation tactics to force me into getting 2 kittens. Would not recommend this place for anyone.

Employees for the most part are weird as hell to me.. One of them stared at me for 5 seconds before even saying anything.. I can't even adopt because an employee isn't smart enough to understand a simple story.. "I don't feel comfortable adopting to you" he said when I been taking care of cats for years and I went over an hour to see the cats... I even brought my cat information including vaccinations, age, breed etc.. not even looking at the papers I get a straight up no and get cut off before I can even explain anything. Don't go here... I felt uncomfortable around these people an felt singled out because they way I dress and discriminated against

My husband and I couldn't be happier with our new kitties Murphy & Chowder (Maui & Mochi)!! The experience we had at A.D.O.P.T. was 5 stars from start to finish. We called in on a Sunday to ask about adoptions and Claudia was very helpful and let us know that there were two cats available that had bonded. When we arrived we filled out the application and were brought into the cat room where we made an instant connection with the kitties. Brian, the cat counselor, gave us some tips on trimming their nails and great advice on general care. The center even gave us two crocheted cat blankets, food, treats, and toys which were all provided by donation. Thank you A.D.O.P.T. so much for all you do!!

Good experience with the actual adoption process. After bringing my pet home he was brought to our vet who tested him for Giardia(positive). It would have been nice for the shelter to test for that prior to his release mostly because he was around other dogs which now have to be monitored(I would have offered to pay since they are run off donations to operate). The worst part is that after calling a week ago I have still been waiting for my call back from the shelter manager. That’s unacceptable! At least have the common courtesy to call someone back regardless of the issue. I would have kept my review 5 stars but unfortunately due to the inability to show respect and concern for my pet I changed it.

We have adopted all of our cats from ADOPT. They are so helpful and kind and take such good care of all of the animals. I am so grateful for ADOPT and all they do. They gave me all of my babies ?

I had a good experience adopting my biscuit maker... The lady in front was nice and polite, the application process was fast and easy. I went in one day to check out the kitties and the next day I walked out with Nacho (formerly known as Grady) he's a well behaved and loving cat.. He's doing very well, he seems happy and comfortable. Thank you guys for what you do ?
