Adopting Brutus took awhile. He was quarantined for a month due to a respiratory illness. We waited a week before someone at the clinic returned our call with questions that we had prior to adopting him.

I adopted a dog here and she is the absolute best. The adoption process is simple and what most other shelters ask of visitors. She was already spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, and her behavior assessed by a certified trainer. Counselors provide an in-depth counseling session on the dog along with discussing training and vet care. Everyone was friendly and helpful. An animal is a long term commitment - so this process is necessary for success. Seeing some of these bad reviews just makes me wonder if some reviewers just weren’t getting their way… Bad reviews only hurt the animals in need.

When our kids were younger, they used to do parents night out programs where the kids could meet some animals, do a craft project and have a snack here.
We would bring in donations for the animals at the center and help spread awareness about adopting the correct way.
What a safe, educational way to enjoy time for both the children and parents.
Plenty of happy memories and lessons which have helped us to grow and positively shape our entire family.
Program was great.
Back in the day seemed more fair and equitable with the true mission at heart. These days biases of staff mostly only so-so.

I adopted two little 4 month old kittens but ultimately gave them back due to behaviour issues. Also I went in wanting one cat and they told me I had to get two. Not everyone wants two cats. That shouldn’t be a requirement. Esp because they forgot to tell us one of the cats were shy and didn’t like young kids. Such a shame.

Great experience adopting our first cat here. The staff is very nice and professional. We were on the waitlist and they notified us the ASAP when the first applicant didn’t work out. And the process of adoption is such a pleasure and we were getting a lot of supports from the staff here. They also followed up on our cat after a month which shows they care about the cat being adopted. Strongly recommend A.D.O.P.T and wish all the cats find their best family. Our cat is happily living with us for 3 months now and everything works perfectly.

I volunteered here on the cat side. I can say that unlike other shelters/rescues I've been at, these cats are treated like royalty! The cats that get along with other cats are matched by their age/temperament and are placed together in big rooms with cat furniture, toys, and activities. One room even has a big wheel, like a hamster wheel for cats to exercise on. The cats that don't do well with other cats are placed in smaller rooms of their own, but not in cages. The only cats that I ever saw in cages were brand new and were in quarantine before they had their vet checks or were recovering from their spay/neuter procedures. The staff and volunteers are very devoted to their care!

They let cats get too fat and don't keep their paperwork up to date. There were a minimum of 2 sick cats in the same room and their paperwork said nothing about it.
Just to walk in the door, they have a 2 page quiz on taking care of pets ?

Absolutely MESS. We adopted pet from some other shelter and we had a voucher for spay/neuter here. I've been calling for three months to schedule an appointment or at least spoke with someone. We did not get a single call back or voicemail for last couple months. Finally I called on 05/21 again. I CALLED 20 times to get someone. I did not have a chance to talk to clinic department I spoke with general receptionist. She said she will hand out my information to clinic and told me make sure we check the voicemail. She was saying we do not pay attention to voicemail but we been calling for more than 3 months but we DID NOT GET SINGLE RESPONSE. We did not get a call back, two day later we got call back for a shot appointment. I sent email and voicemail it’s about SPAY/NEUTER. I spoke with receptionist and she said we have to email for surgery appointment. First of all they did not say that we have to EMAIL. It says call or email. So we waste of our time and energy. We went to somewhere else to spay and neuter. And today they get back to me they have opening for mid July. I understand it’s high volume clinic but it does not make sense you can’t even check voicemail which we left like 3 months ago. There’s other high volume clinic but only this clinic have a problem. Absolutely irresponsible people I can not believe this place take care animal. Please look somewhere to get your pet surgery or shot.

We had an AMAZING experience adopting cats from this shelter. We adopted two little kittens from them and they are the sweetest babies ever. All the cats are spayed/ neutered and they take care of all their shots and microchipping before putting them up for adoption. One of the cats we adopted ended up getting an upper respiratory infection (extremely common in cats) that delayed his adoption by one week, but they handled all his medicine and only let us take him home once he was cleared by a vet. Now he’s home and seems healthy as ever. You can tell they really care about the animals here. Now that they’re home, both cats have been angels. They’re both litter trained and have been cuddly and energetic. We found two new family members here. I would HIGHLY recommend adopting from ADOPT!

I tried adopting a dog there and was told my family was the perfect candidate to adopt him and later when I took my dogs to meet him since,I already have two prior in my home and was hoping they have more friends besides each other, but was immediately pushed away and when I told them I had an appointment the clerk told me I don't see your name or even remember at all. When I finally got my dogs to meet, this blond dog trainer only allowed them to meet through a leash walk instead of allowing to meet naturally. When I clearly told her my dogs don't like to be leashed since they get very aggressive when leashed and still did the opposite of what I told her. When my dogs didn't get along with the meet up, the clerk became more happy saying no you can't have the dog since they don't get along. She was more happy saying no than saying yes to my appointment schedule. Will not go ever again. I feel bad for the dogs there not being able to be adopted, but for some reason cats are easier to get than dogs over here.

I can't believe I hadn't reviewed Adopt previously. My dear sweet Calliecakes is from this shelter, so I am forever grateful that they rescued her. My parents saw her at the shelter back in 2012 and texted me her photo (because they knew I wanted a cat), and I was like "yes absolutely I want her I will come get her." And the rest is history -- it's been 11 great years with my bestie (and hopefully many more). And then a year later, almost to the day, my parents were like "hey let's go to Adopt" the day after Thanksgiving and they ended up getting a cat (their second) for themselves. I haven't been back to the shelter since 2013 when I went with them when they decided to get their cat, but at that time the shelter was super nice and they had several rooms where cats could roam free. It was a nice, no-stress situation to be able to sit on a sofa or on the floor and have the cats come check you out. So many snuggles. And I follow them on Instagram and they continue to do great work and care deeply for the animals they rescue. Definitely check them out if you are looking for a new best friend! And now enjoy the cat photo spam/cat tax :)

The staff and volunteers here are horrible! They are extremely rude and have been harassing people. Do not support this place until management handles these issues. I have been trying to bring this to their attention for months.
