The staff were very attentive and helpful from the first call! I have a reactive dog and I was extremely greatful for the pre-surveys and carefulness put into making sure my Mimzy felt safe and comfortable. Dr. Makofski was very kind and open to my questions and concerns. I really felt welcomed and my Mimzy behaved so well; and while I would love to give her all the credit, the staff had a huge part to play by taking the time to get to know her! Would 100% recommend this animal hospital!!! A very satisfied furever customer!!!
10.14 Update: I had to take in my dog for what I originally thought was a broken nail (turned out to be allergies). Dr. Smizinski and Vet Assistants handled Mimzy with care, especially when cutting her nails. I was very thankful for their help and patience in answering my questions and approaching Mimzy at a pace she was comfortable with. At previous clinics, I always felt like I had to push the staff to answer questions or check something, and at VHAH I can tell your staff are experts at what they do plus they have the patience with pets and owners to ensure a satisfactory visit. I am just happy that Mimzy is feeling better and we may soon have a solid treatment plan for her skin issues so thank you so much!

My go-to for all my dogs. Been going to this vet clinic since 2009. Dr. Sneed is competent, caring, and gentle.
I should mention that her staff is professional and friendly. The office is clean and bright.

We have used Vernon Hills Animal Hospital for our dogs for about 30 years, even though we moved to a different town.

We are always happy with the care our cat receives at Vernon Hills Animal Hospital. The staff is friendly and helpful, and they treat the pets with tenderness and respect. We recommend this veterinary practice to anyone looking for a doctor for their beloved pets.

Our dog is a difficult dog with all doctor visits. This veterinary clinic claimed to be able to handle difficult animals. Everything was going well until the doctor that was seeing our dog left the practice. At this point they told us it was best if our dog continued to see the vet that left the practice. This was not for a routine physical, our dog had pneumonia.

VHAH is awful. I strongly do not recommend it. If your pet is in troubles, do not go there!
Had several bad experiencies. My dog dislocated her hip 2 times and they were not able to do much for her. Second dislocation they did not even see her. One of my cats lost a lot of weight and there was blood in her feces. Also they could not see her, I went to the UC. When finally after 1 month the doctor saw her, she could not do anything cause did not know how to manage an upset ill cat. Dr asked to schedule an appointment so they would sedate my cat to take a blood sample. So I did and confirmed on the phone with them. They called me the day after to say that the appointment was wrong and that had to be postponed for 4 days. My cat really needs help, and these people are not giving the support expected once again. They are contradicting their own instructions. They are a mess.
I have 2 cats and 1 dog. All three have been going to VHAH for the last 5 years.
