What an unprofessional company. 1-800 PACKRAT are scammers, bottom line. They claim that they will match any lowest price and that’s a lie. Not only will they charge you $3,000 dollars to move a metal box across 1 state, but they will hide all sorts of fees in the contract. What a rip off, never again!Update: Not only was I purposefully mislead and manipulated by this company during the entire process, but I was also lied to about the $500 “deposit”. I was originally told that the $500 would be refunded at the end of this nightmare. Well, I returned the container and never received a refund. It turns out the company hides “labor” fees for the driver, even though the driver performs NO labor! So I was just told by the company that I won’t get any money back! Why call it a “deposit” when it’s really just another fee? PLEASE DO NOT GIVE THIS COMPANY YOUR MONEY!

I recently had an incredibly disappointing experience with One 800 Pack Rat and feel compelled to share my story to save others from similar frustrations. After using their services to move our belongings cross-country and storing them in Texas, we were shocked to discover multiple items damaged upon opening the pod in Chicago.Despite the extreme weather conditions, including blistering heat and out-of-control weather, One 800 Pack Rat failed to adequately protect our belongings. Even though they stated the POD was to be placed in temp controlled environment.The damage we incurred amounted to thousands of dollars, a financial burden that could have been avoided with proper care and attention.Upon reaching out to the company and meticulously documenting the extent of the damage, we were met with complete denial of any wrongdoing or liability. Our word of temperature control was changed in the final assessment to "water damage". This is all after a local manager, of the company was there to witness us unlocking the POD to discover the damaged items and was perplexed like we were. He witnessed the state of our belongings before and after the damage, with photographic evidence, and yet the company department evaluating the claim still refused to take responsibility.This lack of accountability is both frustrating and unacceptable. It is essential for potential customers to be aware of One 800 Pack Rat's negligence and their unwillingness to rectify the situation. Such disregard for their customers' property and refusal to acknowledge their own mistakes is simply unacceptable.I strongly urge anyone considering using One 800 Pack Rat to think twice. Their lack of professionalism and failure to take responsibility for their actions should serve as a warning sign. Protect your valuable belongings by choosing a company that values customer satisfaction and prioritizes the safekeeping of your possessions. In conclusion, my experience with One 800 Pack Rat was nothing short of a nightmare.The damages we incurred and the company's refusal to accept responsibility for their negligence is deeply frustrating and disheartening. Spare yourself the stress and financial loss by seeking a more reliable and trustworthy moving and storage service.

I was moving from Colorado to Wisconsin. I loaded the unit with my entire house, they picked it up, and they were supposed to ship my unit. I wss living out of a suitcase. I called the day before it was to be delivered to verify it was on schedule and found out they never shipped my container. Instead, they let it sit in Colorado. So it was late getting to my new place. I felt very uninformed on delivery and pickup. I had to call them to verify they were coming both times. They say they'll call you an hour before they come, but it's more like 15 to 20 minutes. Improve communication! Maybe call the day before to keep people informed. On a positive note, all the people were friendly, and the unit was clean and damage free. Also, they are much cheaper than PODS.

I wished it were a negative *. Pack Rat is the worst I have ever used. 1. I moved 2 hours away and was unable to have my thing delivered after stating they told me they are all over the country, to my knowledge Fort Wayne, IN is 3.5 hours away from them and still in the country. 2. I was told that the containers were sealed and nothing could get in, I did not have any food just furniture and clothing and yet It was full of mouse poop, lets not call it 1-800 Pack Rat lets call it Pack Mouse totally disgusting 3. In the past I uses 2 other container vendors and have always been completely satisfied, getting clothing that is chewed up by mice and furniture that has been nibbled on cost me a lot of money.4. The delivery and pick up driver Paul was very disrespectful and rude to my 88 year old mother who was attempting to instruct him to avoid blocking her garage that she drives in and out of 5. Pack Rat never calls to see if you would like to evaluate their services because they themselves know they are crappy.

After dropping it off they are stalling to pick it up. Going to charge 250.00 fee to come and get it. So beware. They lied and now we have to pay. They knew it wouldn’t hold all our furniture. I called very nervous about picking the right storage container for my cross country move . I was put off by another company's poor quality storage unit and hidden prices. To my delight Patience Newton answered the phone. Patience was polite, professional , knowledgeable and lived up to her name. She was patient with my 101 questions. She even sent me videos to see the storage unit the size and how the units are moved. put my nerves to rest.Gold star representative for sure.
