We got the main breaker for our fuse box there for 1/2 of the price then menards. So we took the parts back to Menards & got My Money Back. Definitely Payes to Check Prices in the Towns around u before u go to Davenport Menards !!! :)

Decent selection, especially for a small town and its convenient, I'll give it that. Most of the employees are willing to help in ways you would never see at bigger stores. A bit overpriced but that's to be expected when shopping locally. Word of advice though, if you are a woman, I suggest sending someone that isn't. Not because he'll know more, but because it will save you both a heck of a lot of time by avoiding a lecture. Some of the employees here (not all) seem to have some pretty outdated views and insist on excessively "explaining" things to women. Every time I've been around certain employees, I've had completely unprompted lectures on things as basic as 'how to use a hammer' given to me like I'm five years old. Depending on who is working, just be prepared for lots of unwanted "mansplaining".

I wanted to take a moment to express why I shop locally and will always give my business to the Mount Carroll Home Center. I went in recently needing paint for a project I had never attempted before and I was waited on by Grace. She was not only incredibly knowledgeable but also courteous and kind. At no point did she make me feel foolish for my lack of knowledge about the topic. She gave me amazing advice, steered me toward the best products for my job, cautioned me against extraneous products I didn’t need, and thanks to her my project was a breeze! Plus I saved money not driving somewhere out of town. We are lucky to have a place like this.
