My advise - get estimates from other shops. I feel I was overcharged and not kept informed of the progress of the repair which took Tom 2 years to finish. And when I picked up the car, found that the hood was mis aligned and scratched the edges of the hood and fenders(see photos) - when I brought this up, he said that he can brush touch up and try again to align the hood but stated this was due to the poor aftermarket hinges. I explained that if this caused the damage then why didn't he call me for another option like re using the original hinges, Tom could not answer. When I dropped off the car, I explained that I wanted period correct on the exhaust not performance but talked me into installing 2 1/2 pipes and assured me that he can make the exhaust pipes appear period correct specifically the factory t/p chrome extensions which are pointed down but should be straight out(see photo). Some of the new installation hardware provided, I found that instead of doing it right, he used urethane to install bolts to the core support(see photos) which failed. After spending almost 11k in repairs, Tom should of at least cleaned the car. I had to buff the entire vehicle due to paint overspray most likely caused by another car(Mustang) he was repainting entirely in the shop which was sprayed inside a curtained off area and not inside a booth which I'm debating to report him to the EPA and OSHA. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED !!

Have had Tom work on two classic cars - interior and reword on one and complete engine swap and drive train on other. Good quality work With all the details done right. Can take on other projects and have other work that slows down the process, but overall would recommend.

Heart Pounding Performance is a top notch shop and that last of the "Real Mechanic" era. Not only are they a performance shop for current and classic muscle cars, they also work on daily drivers! I take both of my cars there, a 2002 White Jeep Grand Cherokee and a 2003 Silver Corolla S. They have fixed issue with both vehicles that several, very common, shops had no idea what to do with. Not only that, but their labor costs are not out of this world and extremely reasonable for the quality of work they provide. I will be moving to Schaumburg, IL but will continue to bring my vehicles to these guys. 11/10, can't recommend them enough. Thanks for what you do Tom!

Welded sub fame connectors on my 2000 camaro, took the time to show me around the shop and did great work. Took extra care and time to weld and paint over welds to prevent rust. Good pricing too
