Run away and find somewhere local to either donate or sell your DVDs and BluRays. I had a collection of over 200 dvds and blurays that my wife and I went through and made sure worked, and were clean. These movies were all in excellent condition and well packed to ensure no damage in shipment. A few were even brand new, never played. We just didn't have room to store them all as we were downsizing. Even though they were offering a very low price each (my highest offer from them was under $3) in the end they "recycled" a significant number of them as they were "Rough" with no proof. Over all they got my 200+ movies at an average price of $0.40 or less. I would have gotten more value by donating them all and taking a tax write off for the value of the movies. And we would have saved the time we took to visually inspect each movie to ensure they were in good condition. This is not a reputable company.

They sent me a quote for one of my used textbooks. I bought a box and packing tape to ship it to them. This book was in good condition when I sent it. Not sure what happened on its way there. Just a week later, I received an email telling me they can't accept it and would not return it to me. They sent me a list of guidelines in which they are unable to accept books. I went through each and every one and my book did not meet any of those reasons. They also did not specify what was wrong with my book that they could not accept it. I was lied to and stolen from and it is not okay.

My experience with this company is literally identical to another experience posted. This company is a scam. Just because they quote you a price they will pay you for your book does not mean you are going to get that price, it also does not mean that they will accept it even if the book is in good condition. They will use the excuse that it doesn't pass their guidelines but will not give you a speific reason why they cannot accept it. When someone asks you to return their property and you do not, that is called stealing. Theft is a crime. They are crooks!

I trusted them to soon and got ripped off. Paid only $60 out of the quoted $160.Unfortunately I was baited and then ripped off by "sellbackyourbook" aka "ziffit". When I first sold to them I sent them four books for their quoted price of $112. The transaction went smoothly and I was paid promptly with no problems at all. Because this went so smoothly I decided to send them more books the next go around. This time I sent 8 books total in two separate boxes. This is when they ripped the rug from under me. They ended up only paying me for 3 of 8 books. Claiming 5 of them were in such bad condition they could not offer me anything. These books however were in great condition much like the first box of books I sent them and they accepted with no problem. They went from them paying me the quoted price of about $160 to only paying $60 bucks. They also state their policy is to not return your books to you but they will "recycle" them to a third party. So you loose profit and they still gain from your loss. Luckily I hadn't sent off any of my other books to them yet or any high values books. Learn from my mistake and avoid doing business with this company if you can. I was able to find other companies to sell to, and I haven't had any issues since.

I'm surprised with all the negative reviews. I sold back 2 textbooks. The website is a little outdated, but overall the process was super easy. All instructions were provided prior to shipping. They offer the option to print your own shipping label. I received an email when they received my books and also when my checks were mailed. Awaiting for my checks to come in the mail now. I plan to use this site again in the future.

Do yourself a favor and just burn your books instead of trying to sell them. I had a few books in EXCELLENT condition, two of them I NEVER USED and they are current editions. The price quotes the gave me initially were rather low, but I thought why not give it a try. When they finally got back to me, they took my estimate from $73.00 to $13, telling me my book was in “rough shape”. THEY SAT ON A SHELF NEVER USED AFTER BEING PURCHASED NEW 6 MONTHS AGO. Also watch out because I’m pretty sure they did that because I used the access codes, yet they have no disclaimer or area where you can get a quote if you have used any access codes. They claim that they “recycle” the books, but let’s be honest, I’m sure that isn’t what’s happening. Extremely disappointing but it’s my fault, as prior reviews also had the same issues yet I still sold to this company. Do not let the few “good reviews” sway you into using this company, as I wouldn’t able shocked if they were “paid” or “fake” reviews. Run as fast as you can from selling, and honestly I don’t think I’d purchase from this company either, as I’d imagine they would sell a poorly book and then refuse to refund or make it correct. The customer service is also poor, so do not let their “responses” on people’s reviews fool you into thinking they are a good company with good customer service.

One star only because I can’t do zero. Near new condition book and they said that my book is “rough” and price will be zero. Same condition from the place I bought it from but they won’t pay out $8.. would just not worry about paying for shipping materials and give the book to your neighbor’s kid. Have never had an issue like this with textbook solutions or anyone else in over five years of textbook rentals/selling while going for my degrees. I bet they won’t send a picture of the proof of the book/packaging like we would be held to on our end.

SCAM. They make it so easy for you to ship your stuff because they will scam you out of paying you the value of your items. They will then list your item for double the price they quoted you. They told me that my item was in “rough” conditions but my pictures before sending it out state otherwise. Emailed them to see if they will send my item back, because I know damn well it’s worth the almost $13 the quoted me. Don’t send them your items unless you don’t want to get paid

I was excited to try their services just to make a few extra, much needed dollars. I gave two stars because of the shipping process being easy. But, that's where the pros ended. The books I sent were in EXCELLENT condition (I photographed all before shipping) and packaged very well. However I received the following email:"We will recycle the followingitems because we can notaccept.ISBN: 9780****** was LiquidDamage and price set to 0.ISBN: 9780****** was LiquidDamage and price set to 0.The order total you will be paidfor is: $15.01."Although this amount is only around $5 less than original quote, my items had no signs of ANY kind of damage, and most of the books were in mint condition. Furthermore, I received the payment verification email over 3 days ago, yet the funds are not available in my PayPal account as of today at 11:50 AM CST.I understand it is necessary for the company to make a profit, but for those of us needing extra funds immediately, I will choose an alternative route of selling books in the future. Also, if calling customer service, you're required to leave a voicemail because help is available through email only.

They stole my book and wouldnt pay me anything for it. They said "ISBN: 9780880290012 was Mildew/Mold and price set to 0." I sell books for a living, and this book did not have Mold or Mildew. I would have recycled it myself if it was, but there was no damage or anything. considering the age of the book, it was in very good condition.I reached out to them and even asked if I could send them a label to ship it back to me, or pay them for shipping, to have it returned, but they refused. They refused to give any proof that the book was damaged. They just said it was, refused to pay me anything for it, and then said that they are recycling. I wont be surprised when I see them selling the book themselves in a few weeks.Be aware of selling books to them as they might steal the book if they feel they can. Terrible service.

Saw the reviews but thought I’d give it a try anyways. Tracking was provided. Books arrived and funds were sent the next day. Such a great experience I had to come back and leave a review. (I selected PayPal. Not sure if it makes a difference or not)

I am a professional bookseller, both online and brick-and-mortar, and I had some books that I wanted to clear out of my inventory as they didn't work for my online model and were not right for how I've curated my physical shop. I tested four companies that buy back books and Sell Back Your Book, while not always the highest original quote (although often they are or are within a reasonable margin), has been the most reliable and swiftest to process (it helps that they are located in the middle of the country so that shipping is quick from either coast). Both their processing speed and payment speed have been great, and much faster than the other main company that made it through my initial test.I'm careful to send in items that I would personally grade as good or better online and I've never had a problem with any item being rejected. I imagine that non-professional sellers may not have experience grading books (etc) and might send in things that could be rejected for looked-over flaws. The other main company I use often has found books to be in "poor condition" and it seems that they might use this tactic to stall payment because I haven't sent in any poor condition books to them. I have not experienced this with SBYB.Keep up the good work and we can all make a bit of money off our books and keep them out of the landfill.

Not dependable. If you try to call, they do not answer and will not call you back. They will email once saying they have addressed your concern but haven't. If you ask again, no response. Almost every order I have sent they "claim" books missing. I have another person check my orders against the packing list and confirm every time I send all books on the list. They have dumped my cart leaving me with books. They are not accountable, prompt or professional. This is a crackerjack of a business. I wouldn't waste your time.

I sold 2 books, received a great price. They send you the shipping label, track your package and within 2 weeks a check was delivered for the amount they quoted. Will use again.
