Very pleased with their quality of service and support. They really did a great job helping us get a wonderful violin 2 years ago AND after lots of hours of practice/performance Quinlan & Fabish exceeded expectations of a masterful tune-up and maintenance. They generously applied new finger tapes that tested perfectly upon pickup with our insTuner App. We were also pleased that they did a very thorough inspection, - identified that our bridge had a slight warp and replaced it. We are NOT employees, friends, or family- just a legit positive independent unsolicited review. Thankful for their great help!

Michael was friendly and knowledgeable. Instruments are taken very good care of, and they help fix many issues.

I can't say enough about this company & the people it hires. I wish every company took the pride and care that this place does!

I would not buy or rent through Quinlan, but that's because they don't really know or care what they're doing re string instruments. I'm not a parent; I'm a string teacher who has dealt with the quality of their instruments and setups for the last 22 years. The problem is a luthier never sees what they rent out or what they sell. Recently, my private lesson student brought to me her purchased violin, with no rosin, a chinrest that was very unusually shaped and lumpy and the bridge was too high. I sent it back. One month later, her bridge is so low, it nearly touches the fingerboard. There's no personal touch to how they set up their string instruments. When they did the rentals for my school, the violins and violas were standard with a bow heavy enough for a cello (Glasser bow quality is very bad). When I complained repeatedly, asking for a lighter bow, they did not care, even though our district was recommending them. They could not set their chin rests next to their tailpieces, and each rental had to be adjusted by me, and the chin rests were many times too small for the violin or viola and once again, they did not care. The owner would look me in the eye, and say he cared, and do nothing about their setups, year after year. They don't know string instruments. I do think they may be willing to fix a problem, if you complain enough and if you're the individual parent who is handing over your cash (not me--who sent them rentals for 22 yrs) , but really--life is so short. Go to a string only rental store, if you want quality. There's plenty of them that will rent for the same price like Austin Violin Shop or Gregory Sapp or Michael Becker, and your child will learn so much faster on a well set up string instrument, that you'll be amazed the difference that makes.

I will never forget the disappointment of sending the instrument I had played & loved for several years for a simple repair, being given a "temporary" instrument to play while it was being fixed, and when we inquired after some time, being told it was swapped out for good. I would have considered purchasing it when I graduated, but we agreed that the one I ended up with was hardly worth it: it had a smell and aging, chipped varnish. Maybe we just weren't clear this is always how it was done, but I distinctly remember being told "temporary" and calling because I was wondering when the rep was coming back with my original instrument. The issue was more that no one would work with us to fix the situation, they just said this was how it was done and my instrument couldn't be located if they tried. This was the only dealing I had with Q&F, it was a long time ago, it may not reflect the way they normally do business, but it didn't feel good after all the time, money, & effort invested.

I'm a fan of these folks. I had a small issue with a relatively inexpensive item I had ordered. You know, the kind of issue that you debate with yourself whether or not it's even worth the time to phone the store and discuss. I decided this problem was worth a quick call and promptly landed myself on the phone with the store manager in Montgomery. This gentleman treated me as if I was the single most important customer he had spoken with all month. I honestly left that call feeling like a champ. Not only did he resolve my issue immediately, he did it with such care and concern that I guarantee all of my future purchases with Quinlan and Fabish will be money well spent. Thank you.
