Been a member at the 2 rivers ymca for a while now and the experience has been up and down. Some of the employees here can be very rude and disrespectful depending on if they are having a bad day or not. But the biggest problem I have with this ymca is the their deliberate action to shut the basketball court down every single day. The court used to be shut down from 8am-11am for pickle ball or whatever the game is which is very inconvenient for someone like myself and others who come to the y to play basketball frequently......all of a sudden they have decided to reserve the gym for this same game until 3pm Monday thru Friday ?! Basically shutting the gym down the entire day from other paying customers to use the court. Imo they are doing this to keep the kids out of the gym since school is out for winter break seeing as the ymca can't stand kids in particularly black kids. Which is a whole separate issue within itself. So now I can't use this ymca at all during the week unless I have the time to come later at night or early Sunday mornings meanwhile still paying a full membership fee. Only ymca I've ever been to where they are making conservative efforts to keep children out of the building. Make it make sense.

Close to home makes it so easy! The facility is in great shape and the staff is always helpful and courteous. Most of my time is spent in the pool doing laps and it is easy to get a lane and a good workout.

Really wish the schools would use some other after/before school program. The Y picks & chooses on what families get billed for care & what families have to pay before the kids can attend. Leaving kids crying in the office because they won’t allow the children to attend if not paid for. Not to mention the Y will not refund you for days you paid for unless you cancel 24 hrs in advance- so if you get called off, get off early, or have a sick child last minute- money wasted.

I asked for assistance in April to pay my bill. I was directed to a site online. They helped me complete the transaction. What I was unaware of was that by paying online my card was signed up for payments to be taken from my card the 1rst of every month. I did not catch the charges until August. I contacted the YMCA concerning the issue. I NEVER EVER WOULD HAVE SIGNED UP FOR PAYMENTS TO COME OUT OF MY ACCOUNT ON THE 1RST AS I DON'T GE PAID UNTIL THE 4TH. ALSO, I WAS BEING CHARGED $37. AND IN APRIL THE PAYMENT CHANGED TO $18.50 PLUS ONLINE PAYMENT CHARGES. They did refund $18.50 minus the online charges because those are non refundable... but basically inferred I was an idiot because I didn't read every word on the page or disclosure. I tried to tell Margret there was a problem with their online program. I do not believe I am the only person effected. They got this New 360 page which is totally confusing as I was told I needed to pay on there. I am not sure why they have 2 pages for the YMCA to get info and to find out their schedules, make payments and so on. Why not just have it all on 1 site? I have been going to the YMCA since I was 5yeaars old with my father. I am 65years old. I LOVE THE YMCA. IT HAS PROVIDED MYSELF AND MY FAMILY WITHWONDWERFUL OPPORTUNITIES. I RECOMMEND IT FOR ALL OF THE SERVICES THAY PROVIDE AND ALMOST ALL OF THE STAFF IS FRIENDLY, HELPFULLY AND UPLIFTING. THIS ACCOUNT WAS FOR MY GRANDCHILDREN and now my account is gone.

Terribly rude. Won't be returning. The lifeguard on duty decided my monofin was her personal issue and was so incredibly rude, and then followed us out like she was afraid we would tell someone how rude she was. ?️

If your child is 8-15yrs old,DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY!! NOTHING here for a kid to do...1 pool table 1 ping pong table and 2 basketball courts always being used....such a waste of money and won't be renewing a membership!

It’s pretty unfortunate if you sign up for a membership to the YMCA in another city or state you cannot use your full membership benefits at any of the locations in this area. You only get access to the gym for 7 days a month. I had to cancel my membership and get refunded my payment since I can’t even use it here. Makes no sense when they are all the same organization, even franchised restaurants follow the same policies and procedures as one another. Planet Fitness would never, you can use any of their gyms at any location as much as you want without worrying about being denied access.

Nobody follows the locker room rules which is extremely frustrating. I know the staff can only control so much, but after reporting three different times I stopped reporting. Seems that members are two out of control to be able to implement the rules. If you read this review, please be courteous and follow the rules. The rules are in place for a reason.

Too many young kids standing around talking on their phones dropping the F-bomb tying up equipment. staff dosen't seem to consernd, atmosphere is unfriendly by some staff. I use to enjoy Moline YMCA but not anymore... maybe I'm just old school and time to move on that's a shame.

Wouldn't let my nieces in since they aren't members. We had them for the weekend for their birthday, and only members can swim now. This is supposed to be a community center where people donate, and they are telling me its all about memberships, and they can't make an exception. even though no one is in the pool.Manager called back and explained its due to the new covid policies. Members should be able to bring family members in to swim.

this rating is specifically for tumbling lessons where you have only 1 trainer to manage with 12 kids at the age of 4 to 6 years and that too where all equipment used are temporary placed on basketball courts where equipment are really moving from there places. Some help is needed if you really want to deliver a quality learning

Have been a member for over 45 years. I have my granddaughters staying with me when they are on spring break. Open swim started at 12:30. I had two passes from years ago and willing to pay if needed to swim with my grand daughters. I was told no guest passes after noon but open swim was only after noon. We were told there was no way we could get into the y unless they were members. The y was not busy at all. Disappointed they would not listen to my concerns.

If you like to play basketball for only 10 minute increments before getting booted off by a bunch of preschoolers then this is the gym for you!! Enjoy driving 15-20 minutes to use a basketball gym just to find out it’s already being used by something other than basketball?? Then this is the gym for you!! Can’t even leave half of a gym open for shoot around. Not everyone has time in the morning to wait for kids to slide around on the floor for an hour, or to be a spectator of great value badminton. I pay my membership like they do and am only going for the sole purpose of utilizing a basketball gym for its main intention, which is to be used as a basketball gym… Strongly considering canceling my entire households membership
