I put down a reservation for a car that included 20% back on Amazon if I used Pay Now, which I did. I only received 10% back, and when I questioned it, I needed to provide proof of this, even though I signed up on their website, which clearly stated that deal, that I am definitely not mistaken about. The confirmation email stated "Amazon Savings Applied", neither specifying 10% nor 20% nor even I suppose 100%. It is $23, which isn't going to break me by a long shot, but the fact that they will piss me off for $23 that I am clearly entitled to, is enough to avoid renting from Budget/Avis forever, and telling everyone I know to do the same.

Great customer service from the cashier. He had our paperwork and vehicle keys ready to go when we arrive at the counter. The most awesome thing is, we received the vehicle we requested. Thank you Budget Car Rental at Quad Cities International Airport.

Budget Car Rental really disappointed us!!! Rented a car in MLI for scheduled return to MLI. Our plans changed requiring a drop off at DSM airport and I called Budget to inquire what the drop off fee would be - agent quoted a fee of $200-240. We were charged $368! We were sorely disappointed - I hate it when a company quotes you a high price for an alternate drop off city and then adds $150 on top of quoted price. Who takes responsibility for such an error? JUST BE HONEST WITH YOUR QUOTES!!!

The last 2-3 times I've needed to rent a vehicle, I went with Budget. Working with this company is a PLEASANT SURPRISE. The name indicated savings but the service is second to none. Any time I have to reach out to customer service, either online or in person, I have received some of the most amazing customer service anyone could ask for. The staff are helpful, professional and very kind and gracious. Really. I've had some hairy problems and they resolved them almost effortlessly and with a smile.

Ebony I believe was our customer service person. She is dark complected, heavier set with glasses. And she was extremely rude and tried not to give me all my paperwork. Her exact response when I questioned if any of the multiple pages printing were for me was, "Here then. Since you seem to want to sign something. Naw here sign it! Sign it right here!"This paperwork had the detailed information about what I would be charged for, why and agreement details. Including am area I was supposed to sign. She did not fill out my rental info booklet, besides writing where the vehicle was located. On the slip with the damage information, she only wrote that the vehicle gas tank was on F=full and had okay damage. Yet when we returned it in the same F position, we have been charged for gas. Overall dealing with Ms Ebony would have caused us to never want to again use or recommend budget to anyone.There's no reason to be boldly rude to your customers when they are inquiring about their agreement paperwork. And then charge you for something you so minute as two gallons of gas that could have easily been missing initially and have no proof of other than F on a meter.

Company trying to rip off customers who are either early for their rental or late. Budget will charge you an extra day, at the time of pickup, if you are early to pick up the car. They will also change your daily rate if you arrive more than 29 minutes late to the counter, even if the line at the poorly staffed counter is the reason you are late for the pickup. My last two rentals consisted of these two extreme situations. And, in both situations the agents were unhelpful once you are handed the tickets. The agent in Moline (Ebonie, as I recall) was totally apathetic. Budget is essentially trying to "pinch" the customers into a very small window of time to avoid incurring these additional charges. And, in both cases I was curiously not asked to approve of the rate on a screen or a printed copy...nor was I asked anything regarding insurance. Instead, these items were sent to my email, to be discovered long after leaving the rental counter. You can avoid these if you call in advance (ridiculous if you are on a plane as I was). You can also, after the fact, spend a good hour or more trying to get through to and explaining the situation to customer service (their toll-free number makes it virtually impossible to speak to a human being). So, after 30 years of 5-7 Budget rentals a year, I am now a former customer. Renter beware. I only hope the other companies are not employing similar policies.

1. There is no one at the Budget counter you have to go through Avis.2. The person didn't even speak except to ask my name.3. Called for 1 day extention was told it would be 110.00 dollars I said ok.4. I was charged a late fee upon receipt of my invoice and for gas.5. There was no one working the counter at Budget or Avis upon my arrival to drop off so I filled out the form and dropped it at the time I stated would be back.6. Upon receiving my invoice I called customer service and was told " I suggest next time you rent you make sure to get an email confirmation of the change and save your fuel reciepts.On closing I don't dispute the extra day because I called and made the change to an existing reservation. I normally use Enterprise and will return to them! This was not at all a customer friendly company.

Rented a car and paid ahead for an 11 am pickup. Arrived and was told no cars until 6:00! After we caused a scene, a car magically appeared but not the suv I paid for

Had a pickup scheduled during posted hours. No one at counter and no phone number posted. I walked the entire lot to see if anyone was outside working on the cars but no luck. The person finally showed up about a half hour later with a "sorry about that". I requested a sedan and she didn't seem to even know what that was! I finally got one that was at the very end of the lot. Since it was then almost 10 pm I did not realize that it had an expired license plate until the next morning! I called to have them switch out the car but after one and one half hours on hold I gave up (and the closest Budget location was 50 miles away). I would have given a one star review except the person who checked the car in when we returned it did give us some credit for our rental.

The vehicle was scheduled way in advance but was not ready for pickup as scheduled and resulted in almost an hour delay in my departure. We were scheduled to pick vehicle up right at opening. I arrived about 20 minutes after pickup time and was told the vehicle still needed to be cleaned and it would take another 10-15 minutes. The desk representative told us she would let us know when the vehicle was ready. I sat across from the counter and waited, in clear view of the desk rep. Although there were very few customers, the desk rep was the only desk rep on duty for Budget and Avis booths (there was another person actually moving/cleaning vehicles). It was clear she was busy dealing with the initial work of opening for the day. Eventually, my wife noticed a vehicle parked at the curb that looked like a rental and asked the desk if that was our vehicle. The rep told us it was ours and that she got distracted and forgot about us. I don’t know how long the vehicle was parked there. The desk rep was friendly and courteous the whole time and apologetic once she realized she dropped letting us know the vehicle was ready. My feedback is meant to identify that the vehicle was not ready at the scheduled time, for whatever reason, which cascaded into the only desk rep having to track one more thing instead of simply issuing my vehicle when I first arrived. Overall, a positive experience and I would still recommend and use Budget as they’ve done well in my past.

Do not rent from Budget Rental Car. We rented a 12 passenger van for a road trip to Mt Rushmore in January. Went to pick it up June 10th and were told the van wouldn't start and was under maintenance. No advance phone call, and no other vans available. The lady at the counter told us we could call around and try to find a van at a different location but wasn't interested in looking up nearby inventory or assisting. She then offered 7-8 passenger vehicles. But then couldn't find the keys to either of the vehicles. We cancelled the reservation and left, our kids heartbroken.Meanwhile, we found out that the car was prepaid (reservation 23838608US3) and she didnt cancel it in the system, finalize the refund, or include any notes in the budget system why the rental car was cancelled so we had to call an 800 # and spend 30 minutes on the phone trying to get a refund for the rental that we were never given! I have spoken with 3 people now and still no notes under the rental. Total scam. Do not rent from Budget!!!

Needed a car while mine was in the shop just so I could get the kids to school and do day-to-day stuff. Got a reasonable rate, and they got me a Chrysler Pacifica plug-in hybrid minivan which was amazing. The process was easy for both pick up and drop off, the people working were great, the website was great when I needed to change the drop off time by a couple hours, and didn’t have any issues for the week I had it.
