  Do NOT recommend. We had a horrible experience from the moment we paid. Started off with great sales staff - got us set up and were kind, responsive, and helpful! Then after that, it was like pulling teeth to get anything done and being treated poorly in the process. Everything they said they would do required several follow-up calls thereafter to ensure it was scheduled and we were good to go. When on the phone with the measurement guy, he immediately asked for the “man of the house,” or “the husband.” What year is this…? They added a $200 extra charge to our bill (the second bill for the measuring differences) that they could not explain, and when we asked, they guessed what it might be multiple times - all of which were not true so eventually, it was removed. They did not tell us how to prep, so when the guy arrived to measure he threatened to leave and reschedule. It’s hard to get them scheduled (weeks longer than estimated), so we tried our best to accommodate. He spilled something in the process and did not clean it (I realize not his job but typically if you spill something all over the floor, you don’t just leave it..?). These are just a few of the things we experienced. In the end, the counters look fine, but we would have paid extra for a better experience. We were mistreated and had so many unnecessary surprises along the way. We should be happy with our new kitchen but we are just exhausted and relieved to be done with Schillings. There are plenty of other places that have the same materials and hopefully are just better people.

  Ben V- we came in with a ton of questions, a lot of misinformation and high expectations- and it was only a Monday morning. Ben rose to the occasion, provided us with great concise quotes for window and door replacements and also helped us to find a reputable installer. He was timely, funny, and easy to work with. We would give him six stars at Schillings and look forward to working with him on all of our projects in the future.

  Really disappointed, I tried to return 7 pieces of flooring and they gave me such a hassle, I have spent a lot of money with this company and thought it would not be a big deal. The boxes looked open but I took them anyways. there were 2 pieces that did not even match. They would not return anything, I told them to keep the 2 pieces and maybe the manager that denied my return could sell them as samples, what a joke. Bad business practice.

  I ordered backsplash tile from Schillings on December 13th and was told it was coming from a distributor in New Lenox, Illinois and that I would receive it by the middle of January because it was on backorder. I called on January 5th to get an estimated date and was told January 17th. I removed all my old tile which left a few holes in my walls and hired a contractor to come install the new tile the weekend of January 20th. After January 17th passed without a phone call from them, I called and was told it was coming from overseas and now it wouldn't be delivered until sometime in February. A few weeks later I called and was promised it would be here between February 20th and the 26th. Well here we are, February 28th and no phone call and no tile. I called again today and was now told it's delayed once again until March 6th. My contractor, who I have to keep canceling, and I, are understandably very upset. It's going on 3 months now. Don't order anything from this company if it's not in stock!

  I like Schillings and have purchased from them for years now under other business names as well.
  But for the life of me I will never understand why people in contractor sales or in any professional position on the floor or behind the counter think it is okay to vocalize expletives in the hearing of the entire store with f-bombs and more.
  There is no doubt that the founders of this company are not being represented by the foul mouths of those in their employment.
  There are certainly other places that are cheaper but I have been a long time customer of this company and would just like to see the staff act in a more professional manner and delete the vulgar speech from their vocabulary at a minimum while they are on the clock with other customers regardless of what another customer speech May be.
  The employees of this store should elevate the character of others and not drop to their level if there is poor speech represented.
  While a contractor salesman is running off at the mouth trying to sound cool and impress someone else with sewer breath they are also spilling that sewage into the rest of the store for everyone else to hear.
  It is my guess that if the founders of this company were on the floor each day they would have already fired these salesman and employees with such.
  Here's to a happy New Year ahead with clean speech and great deals with positive attitudes from Schillings!

  Honestly disappointed I have to write this review. I have used Schillings in the past and was happy with them, but doubt I will use them in the future. Two issues this year so far. In the Spring, I ordered some decking boards from them to replace the boards on my pool deck. When they showed up to deliver, the boards were bottom of the barrel quality. Actually a barrel would have better quality wood than what was on the delivery truck. At least 1/3 of the order were S-shaped boards. Not even exaggerating this. I refused the order and was credited without a charge. Yay for that, but it delayed my project as I now had to go hand pick the deck boards from somewhere else. Fast forward to the fall. It's time to treat and stain the deck. I show up early to the Mokena store. Lots of workers, but no one seems to be doing anything worthwhile. One guy asks me if I need help and at the time I did not. Then I found the stain I wanted and the sample colors were not even close to what the brochure/ online picture showed. I asked the guy who asked if I needed anything and he was super honest and said he just started and dis not know. Pointed me to two guys sitting there. One had no idea how to answer my question and the other was sort of helpful. In any case, I picked up a gallon of the stain I wanted and went to check out. Again - tons of people "working". The lady I got was super nice. She goes to ring me up and says "interesting. This item says it's not here". Her boss was a piece of work and kind of yells at her to call the other office. Ten minutes later she tells me that the stain I have in my hand - ready to pay with cash - is not actually for sale. So not only was no one really helpful, but the trip was a wasted effort as they refused to sell me something that I had in my hand. So many other options. I will always choose elsewhere going forward.

  Definitely not the schilling or home improvement store you want to go to. Very dissatisfied with the selection of products they have. Very little. Everytime I’ve been there. (5 times) every employee in the lumber yard was very angry and upset with me. Emily Fiorio is the hr lady there and I’ve emailed her multiple times for contact nothing. I have also heard she is very rude and bossy. Overall never shopping at schillings. What a sad store!
