Very rude staff wouldn't sell me a pan because they lied and claimed there was no price tag but there where 2 price tags. They took it away to the back during checkout and didn't tell me they where doing so until I asked. Never shopping here again.

Loved going to this thrift store and finding cute clothes and other items but coming in and paying the card reader they have is so out dated and broken. Card kept declining to the point the lady in the front counter had to type my card number which I was very uncomfortable to do since I’ve had card scams in the past. I even told her but gave me attitude and rolled her eyes even though I wasn’t accusing her of anything. Hopefully they finally update their card reader and have more organized isles and have a more friendly staff environment.

Can’t even pick up the damn phone, L location, don’t EVER go here. Also, didn’t have my 4 piece pilgrim set, came back specifically for it, it was gone, L #2 and THEN the worker was STANDING AT THE PHONE and let it ring 6 times and then ENDED THE LINE.

A few days ago we came in to the store in McHenry Illinois. We walked in with my emotional support pet. We were practically stopped at the door by an employee. She said that dogs were not allowed in the store. I have a toy poodle that has been to that store many times before. In fact, many employees at that branch have pet him and told us how well behaved he was the employee said that it was a rule that we could not bring dogs into the store. I explained that he was an emotional support Pet. And the employee further questioned me asking to provide her proof of my disability, saying that he did not have the correct tags and I explained to her that I had just given him a bath and I was letting him dry off. She then called her manager, Ruth. And followed us through the store as we were shopping. The employee, then again started to tell us that she was directed by her manager, to escort us out if we could not provide some kind of proof that he is a emotional support pet. as I mentioned before we were in this store many times before and were never approached by anyone asking us to leave because we had a dog with us. Furthermore, I asked the employee to please show me where in the store it states that I cannot have my emotional support pet in the building. She could not provide any kind of proof to what she was saying. So I went on the website for Salvation Army, and I could not find that rule that she spoke of. Also, I explained that it is nowhere on the Salvation Army website the employee van and had a coworker engage us as we were shopping I explained to her that asking for proof of my non-visible disability is a violation of my Hyppa rights and this is considered discrimination against us. The employees were not concerned, and I explained. That I would escalate this to the corporate level. she then proceeded to tell me do what you have to do. I immediately called the Salvation Army 24 hour customer service, and explained the situation, and what had occurred at that store to get clarification From the customer service rep for Salvation Army. The customer service rep was shocked as to what I explain to him. He said this was not their policy and he is deeply sorry for what we had experienced at that store. I explain to him at this point I do not feel comfortable to enter into that store with the group of employees that made us feel not welcomed. The customer service rep told me that he would escalate this to headquarters and also gave me their number which I called and left a message and to this point still have not received a call or resolution on this matter. I am a bit confused about the Salvation Army and their interests. On one side they say they welcome donations to help underprivileged people ending every conversation with God bless you, but what we experienced at that location was the exact opposite. We felt very discriminated against, and furthermore to have an employee ask you. To provide proof of your non-visible disability is discrimination at the very basic level I would like it to be known of the way that this particular branch operates. I am nearly 50 years old and have never experienced this type of treatment anywhere much less at a store, where it is to help the community. I am thoroughly disgusted with the treatment of the employees at this branch.

Not the greatest but definitely not the dirtiest location I've been to. Found a latch hook rug that I fell in love with. Rest of the items were meh. But glad I visited.

They have the highest prices out of all the thrift stores I go to! And it’s junk that should be like… $.50 or $1

I love to browse around resale shops. Things seemed to be slightly overpriced for lots of worn out items. I did find a couple artificial plants. I did give two stars because I know it goes to a good cause. Will stop by again if I am out that way but not impressed.

Talk about a joke, the place was filthy, I went to buy a golf club and the l**** employee goes we can't sell that because it's part of a set... It was just a random club and did not match the set Just ridiculous, but I guess you can't expect much from the losers of mchenry Salvation Army.

Scammed. Donator brought a Midland WR-120 Box and what I received was something likely broken, a Midland WR-100 Version 5 which would 95% squeal by now, which is actually where i bring up my next point. Prices. Absolutely stealing your money. I paid 13 dollars for the radio and didn’t get the radio which comes inside, Literally the other thrift store I went to, #3 had a 99 cent weather radio + it was green tagged 50% off for 49 CENTS, WHICH IS 5 STAR RATING. I’m telling you, don’t go here unless you want to lose money. I never opened the box at the store. I will never come back again.

Seems like an older Salvation Army store that is not as filled with newer fashions as some of the city thrift stores which is surprising considering the area. Still in all you can always find great deals at these stores. Stuff you are very surprised to fund, old throw back items or pieces to an item that you lost. This store is located in a strip mall and it's good parking. Prices are good, like other salvation army stores ?? . Lots of furniture items but older stuff, but you never know what you will find?

Prices are double what they should be. I've been to many resale shops and this was the first time I've thought a store's prices were crazy and out of line.

They should fire the manager of this place. They have mountains of junk. Broken board game, 10$, As is electronics 50$, New Testament on cassette tape 13$. They could lower every price in the store by 50% and still be overpriced. People need to let their stock sit until Salvation Army makes a change.
