“really cute little place. they have tons of vintage clothes that are organized by color. i found lots of things that you don’t see most places. there are lots of knick knacks packed in, as well.”
“So clean, organized, and cheap. They receive donations and really are giving back to those who need support. They even had a food pantry available. Good job. ??♀️??”
“I was impressed with the unusual mostly vintage furnishings. The quality of fabrics and workmanship of the clothing and accessories was magnificent. I bought an assortment of incense on this first visit (unplanned) as I tried not to take home pieces I didn't have space to house. The service was welcoming and friendly. I'll visit again and again.”

“It's genuinely one of the better thrift shops. Why? Prices. The pricing is fantastic. Yes this place supports a charity, but they also aren't trying to gauge me for a used item with no return policy. I wish people would stop paying higher prices to other places that are charity driven. Because this model works. They get plenty of donations, they are constantly busy, I always spend a lot of money there. Also Kevin fixes watch batteries! It's perfect.”
“Had an emergency come up and needed a used tire ASAP! called Aztex and they had the tire, put it on and had me on my way within 30 mins. Staff was great, and prices were definitely competitive with surrounding area. ENJOY YO!!!”
“Such a great store. They have the best donors so they have lots of fantastic items to choose from. They change their displays with fresh inventory daily. Well thought window dressing. Frequent special offers. One of my favorite weekly stops to drop off my recyclie and reuse, and find new treasures. Come by, I'm confident you will return.”
“I love shopping here. There is always a good selection of women's and men's clothing and the prices are reasonable. They have clothes starting at $4 and also offer a designer collection if you are looking for something special. It truly is a Chicago treasure.”
“So I've been there only once the workers there are really nice and friendly. They have good stuff if you take time but it's an okay place to go if your by. You can maybe find something you like!”

103 S Grove Ave, Oak Park“Been shopping since ‘85. Now I volunteer. It is super fun. I would arrange my work schedule to shop here, because the sale dates are very limited. Put the dates on your calendar! Almost all volunteer run!!! They support several Oak Park Charities. It is a worthwhile cause and a blast to shop. It is an old mansion and each room has a different kind of merchandise. A real treasure hunt.”
“My wife & I came in and love it! No pressure, humble and very well organized. Alberto is super friendly and makes you feel welcome! If you’re in the area definitely check it out!”
“Great resale shop. Really well organized, near, clean and displayed. I'll be going back frequently. Even the books are organized, so the Captain Underpants books aren't mixed in with cooking or adult fiction. A joy to shop here!”

8354 W Foster Ave, Norridge“Nice and genuine people.Everyone is very helpful and kind. I go there on every Monday and Wednesday. It's really fun and new learnings. Hats off to their work”
“Upon first entering The Brown Elephant, you might feel that this is not your average Thrift store. In some sections, it is more organized than other stores of its kind. This store has more furniture than anything else, and the prices were a little higher than your average Thrift store. I would suggest checking in here every once in a while, as their inventory changes quickly. Also like to support this store because proceeds go to health screenings and support for the LGBTQ community”
“I saw this place randomly as I drove by, and decided to stop. Extremely glad I did. I found a really nice jacket, and a bunch of little stuff to give as additional Christmas gifts. The folks at the desk were helpful and engaging, and even random customers started conversation and gave advise. Saved in my favorites, I will be back in the new year!”

10205 W Grand Ave Ste 300, Franklin Park“I go to a lot of thrift stores and this one is the neatest I have ever been in it is clean it is organized and very easy to shop prices are okay but it's worth paying a little bit more to be able to see everything that's available and having everything in its place”
“This was one of my favorite locations but these days there is a short woman who works there whose behavior is completely out of control (anyone else who works there or shops there regularly knows exactly who I’m talking about). She is overly nice to some customers but then randomly VERY mean to others, yelling at them about things they’re not doing and coming up to customers and constantly bothering them. She’s impossible to avoid because her voice resonates across the store and she runs around getting involved in everyone’s business. I have heard many other employees complaining about her on several occasions. I’m sure I’m not the only customer who has been harassed or bothered by her. Her behavior makes me so uncomfortable that I have literally stopped coming here because she ruins the experience. I feel bad for this woman because I know she obviously has special needs but her behavior is unacceptable to the customers. I never write reviews or complain but she is really that bad!”
“Fun place to spend some time walking around hunting for unique items. You don’t come here looking for something, the store tells you what you need! Found an awesome solid oak coat rack with an old “Property of Cook County” tag on it, and a cool newspaper clipping from the old Rock Island Railway. Deb knew exactly where this piece was hanging up and the story behind it, makes it that much cooler. Would love to see some of the slower moving (kitchen/commercial/restaurant) items cleared out and the boxed items displayed or made more visible. I’m sure there’s some real treasures hiding in this place.”
“My sister and I saw this place while driving down the street and we had to stop. There are so many nice, quality pieces in here. It's a treasure hunt and the owner is very friendly and helpful. We will definitely be back.”

6001 W Cermak Rd, Cicero“I wavered between 3 and 4 stars for this review - I suppose a 3.5 is fair. Don't get me wrong - I absolutely love the restore. They have great treasures to find! Also, my family benefited from a Habitat house when I was growing up - it was a pivotal change in our life so I 100% support all their stores!!However, my decrease in stars comes from the employees/volunteers (not sure which) helping load the items. Next time I'm going to see if I can just use their carts and go get the items myself and take the lead as they load them. Here's the issue: I bought a couch for $200 and table with chairs for $125. The couch was in pretty good shape - no major issues. But I think when the person loaded it on the cart, they grabbed the cushion on the back of the couch and pulled it to life on the card. The middle cushion is now torn. I noticed before the loaded it in the van and said something to the other person helping to load it but it was kinda just brushed off. I could have returned it but need a couch so I figure I'll just get it fixed and be careful for now. Then, the table looked awesome but they put it upside down in the van and then pulled it out to take the legs off. At some point during that, the top of the table was scratched pretty bad. I also saw this and mentioned it to the person but was brushed off more or less. Not really in a rude way - they were all very nice - but just in-different to it. Again, I could have returned it but need it so I'll fix it later.I'll update this review with pics when I can.”

3748 N Elston Ave, Chicago“I mean, all thrift stores aren't the same. If Mt son weren't with me I could've spent more time. It reminded me of the old Kmart or Venture stores back in the day. It's huge with lots of offerings. They had some great furniture in there and other good finds. Definitely a place to hunt for unique items or everyday use items.”
“Amazing store. I was able to find all the characters from Toy Story for my son’s birthday. Definitely will be coming back for all my sons action figure needs: they have Spider-Man, Batman, teenage mutant ninja turtles and soo much more! Highly recommend”
