Frisked to Dine? Unnerving Security Measures at Hotel Restaurant
I recently stayed at this hotel, and while my room experience was decent, the dining experience raised serious safety concerns. To enter the hotel's restaurant, guests are required to be frisked by a large security guard wearing a bulletproof vest. This is highly unusual and uncomfortable, especially considering that in my travels around the country, I’ve never been subjected to a security search just to enter a restaurant. I’m unsure if there's even a female guard available to frisk female guests, which adds to the discomfort.
After deciding to dine elsewhere due to needing to be frisked, I returned to find at least six police cruisers strategically parked in front of the restaurant entrance, which only amplified my concerns about the safety of this location.
Looking back, I wish I’d paid more attention to the one-star reviews before booking, as this is clearly an ongoing issue for other guests as well. If you’re considering this hotel, I’d strongly advise checking the reviews beforehand—you might end up looking elsewhere for a more comfortable and relaxed experience.

Currently undergoing massive renovation due to new ownership. Usual minor construction noises during the day. New rooms are beautiful. Management stated intention that renovation should be done by holidays.
Rooms: New rooms beautiful. Housekeeping at this hotel has always been excellent.
Food and drinks: Restaurant located on property. Breakfast is usual fare. Lunch and dinner meals are more of a sports bar / entertainment venue type. Happy hour from 4-7 weekdays. Most days have a special theme and type of entertainment. Restaurant is very popular with the locals on the weekends.

Definitely not worth the 375 I paid for 2 nights. The room looked beat up, toilet didn’t flush properly, people are loud because of the bar there, cops constantly present at the property and my car got broken into.
Rooms: Not worth it
Safety: Not safe

Stayed here so I didn’t have to drive after a concert in Tinley Park. For the price I expect better. If construction is causing issues the rates should reflect that. AC did not work which was rough, lights did not work or half of them had no bulbs in them. Seems they started working on the floor above me around 7:30am. Front desk is nice but just not worth paying the asking amount.

I visited Bar Louie's, which is listed on Google as permanently closed. I believe they have/will be changing the name. They had a Frankie Beverly tribute, and the band was awesome!! The mixologist named Kevin was extremely attentive and kept his patrons' glasses full and kept up with our orders. He treated us like we would expect to be treated as patrons. KUDOS to him!!

If a 0 star was available that’s what I would have been giving.. Paid for a room since August for a reservation for September and on getting there after driving down from Texas, was told by Kumar at the front desk that the room I reserved was already given to someone to make do with another which I agreed to cuz I was tired,only for me to get to the room available and the room was smelly, curtains were dirt and to crown it all the shower was not working, I tried calling from the room guess what was not working, the telecom also,I had to come down and was told by the front desk that maintenance was not around to sleep like that and I said hell no not after driving 16hrs and was told by KUMAR that he refunded my full amount that when MICHAEL the general manager comes in on Monday he was going to approve my refund.. This hotel has refused to refund me my money and I didn’t stay at this hotel because I had to go to another hotel to find an available room for those nights.. My bank will be taking it from here..
THE HOTEL NEED TO DO BETTER AND NEVER EVER AGAIN WILL I BE USING THEM AND I DO NOT RECOMMEND

DONT STAY HERE!!! This is the most disgusting hotel ive ever stayed in and I travel all over very frequently. This hotel is a disgrace , I had the worst experience ever here and came home with bed bug bites and god knows what else. The first room they gave me was gross it had hair all over it in the bed on the bed on the pillows on the toilet on the bed side table on the lamp it was everywhere. Human hair . All over . looked like a dog lived in that room and then they gave it to me. The second room was the same and so was the third room ! three rooms i went to on three different floors. all covered in hair and gross. I had to go back to a very rude and unhelpful front desk woman who was very large and disrespectful. I asked her if she could just change the sheets . she said no. her excuse was the cleaning people were gone for the night . It was 4 in the afternoon. I told her i didnt want any of the rooms and she told me theres nothing she can do for me claiming they were “full” that was a lie i checked online they had open rooms and she also tried to tell me that after the second room but i demanded another and magically one appeared . they had yellow stains in the sheets . I finally had to pick a room and lint roll the hair off the entire bed. I was so grossed out but was forced to deal with it as i had work in town and had no other option . But it gets better . after doing all that with the room , i finally got settled in and fell asleep just to be woken up at midnight by random people entering my room . I woke up to strangers in the dark standing in my room . unbelievable . after telling them to get out . i lokced the door and fell back asleep just to be woken up again after midnight by the front desk ringing and ringing the phone in my room . I pick up to a rude front desk employee who starts questioning me about why im in that room telling me it isnt mine. couldnt believe it . dude made me tell him the whole story about them switching me around rokms and apparently no one had entered it into the computer. the next day i had to take all my luggage and valuables out of the room with me to work because i couldnt trust that no one had keys and access to my room while i was gone. and then on too of that when i got back from work the next day my keys didnt work so i had to go get another set . then i was itching all weekend and came home with weird bug bites on my arm that I know came from that room. It was disgusting and they should refund me that entire stay. Horrible hotel. oh and my room had no towels or hand soap in it and their was hair on the wash cloths they left and the shower was covered in rust. The place sucked. I attend an event nearby this hotel every year and tons of people i know stay in this area at hotelsz im talking thousands of people and i will be telling everyone I know to not stay at this hotel and hopefully will cost them lots of money in bookings . oh and the whole place was a construction zone and had plaster and drywall fust everywhere and janky plastic all over the hallways and elevator and you could hear people hammering in the halls and through the walls. literal hell

Made reservation, for a funeral that we were attending over the weekend. Reservation for a king suite so that we would have a king bed and a pull out sofa. First initially came into the hotel and was very impressed. The lobby is gorgeous. The bar is great, it smelled good. We check in.We get up to our room to find that we were given the wrong room. We had 4 adults and only one king size bed in this room. And it was not the suite that we were getting charged for we went down to the front desk and talked to the front desk where they informed us that they were fully booked. And that indeed was the one that we want reserved, and they didn't have any other rooms to give us. After calling corporate customer service, we were able to confirm that we indeed booked a suite. Well, we're gonna try to make this work. Could we at least get some extra blankets? And we also requested that they came up to the hotel room and removed the old, dirty linens and towels that were left in the room from the previous guests, so That we didn't have to deal with them. We were told by the front desk that there was no housekeeping available, and that he thinks he had extra stuff, but if we wanted to bring the dirty linens down to the front desk, they could give us clean ones if they had any. This was literally a pile of dirty sheets and towels left in the corner of the room. We ended up talking to the front desk again, saying that we just wanted a refund and that we were going to leave and go somewhere else. They told us they couldn't reimburse us just because we didn't like the room. It was the wrong room and dirty. We ended up just leaving and we're going to dispute their card charge. While trying to find availability @ another hotel we used the bathroom in this room and the toilet wouldn't flush it just kept running. We had other family that were actually staying at this hotel as well and when they went get ready before the funeral to get into the shower and their shower knob literally fell off into the bathtub and they couldn't shower. They had to walk across the street to the hotel that we ended up booking just to shower.

Did 2 bookings with IHG and both were cancelled which was informed to me when I reached hotel at the reception. Staff don't know how to talk. Lady at the reception was so rude.

The front desk lady was rude and you’d think that with all the attitude she would know how to spell, but you’d be wrong. I called to request some info before booking, needless to say I booked the hotel next door, where the front desk staff was delightful.

Wow...an absolute testamate of what Holiday Inn has become. I'm not even sure where to start! Completely rude service from start to finish! It's clear from check in on we were NOT welcome! Barley got.enough attention at check to be checked in, but that was WAY better than we experienced later at the hotel bar/restaurant! Room was dated and dingy. There was empty soap containers that were moldy. We couldn't call for more as the phone doesn't work. Neither does the air really. The hotel bar is a nightclub with security sporting body Armor and poor attitudes. Will not be back!

Booked a room for three nights. The room phone didn't work so we had to go down to the front desk for anything we needed. The side door was wide open ,anyone could walk in.TV was so little and the sound was terrible. Volume was up to 70 and still couldn't hear. The toilet sounded like a running faucet every time you flushed. Asked for plastic utensils,the front desk directed me to Bar Louie who stated "They don't have any" What a joke.

I called Holiday Inn and a reservation specialist made a last minute reservation on the phone and gave us a reservation number. I called this Holiday Inn and confirmed that a room was available. The person on the phone said a room was available. I get to this location, and find a dark parking lot and emergency vehicles lining the parking lot. I walk in the front door, and emergency personell is tearing a fire alarm apart in the entry area. I hear loud music and a huge party going on from the front desk area. I try to check in with my reservation number and the lady at the desk says she has to check if a room is available. So I tell her, I had called ahead and confirmed a room was available, and she responds by saying that she hadn't talked to anyone and didn't make reservations over the phone. She finally finds a room and charges me $250. I head to my room. The elevator and hallway floors are lined with plastic and it stinks old and dirty. I get to my room and pull up this location on google to see the reviews and find out that tonight should have cost me $110. I am utterly disgusted with todays series of events, Holiday Inn. I usually like Holiday Inns, but definitely won't be staying here again.

The place was in bad shape and needs updates to booths. Our server was eating and wandering and had to get him every time we needed anything. I brought a Director of Operations there. I will forever be the guy who makes bad dinner spot decisions.
