Another completely inept attempt by Matteson Illinois to conduct business. I purchased several items then when I get to the cashier, the prices all ring up completely different from what I saw when I picked the items up. I asked the cashier to correct the prices, because everything he rang up was wrong. He proceeded to tell me that he has been told that no overrides can be done. It just is what it is. Aggravated, I told him well then I'll return everything cancel my entire purchase, and he fumbled completely inept while on the phone with a manager I don't know where the hell she was. I heard the whole conversation on speaker, an abysmal mess of a store. I will definitely not be back. No one in the store knows what they're doing. I am certain that most people just pay without even noticing what they're paying.

Family Dollar on Sauk Trail in Richton Park, is a very convenient quick stop shop location. When I don't want to go the grocery store or theres only one item i need, i can usually count on Family Dollar!!!

I wish you can leave a review with zero stars.. Please do not shop at this family dollar location! Customer service is terrible from team members to managers! Make sure you’re checking your receipts if you do shop here because they ring up the price of things higher than the stickers prices and when you bring it to management attention they say it’s nothing they can do about it. Never have I ever been to a store and not been granted the advertised price on their product by a manager ! If anything they need to change the sticker prices! Worse experience ever !

I purchased a bathroom shelf at this location, me and my family come here on regular basis since we live down the street. 6/16/23 purchased this shelf I did notice it was a taped up box so I didnt think nothing of it, yesterday on Fathers day I was about to put the shelf together and noticed one of the peices were broken so I put it back in the box and proceeded to the store to see if I can exchange it. I did not have my receipt and was told by the very rude manager Rose if Im not mistaken that due to the policy she cannot exchange it without a receipt at this point I showed her my bank account that I had just purchased it but she still refused. I can admit I was a bit upset not knowing where the receipt was and told her me or my family would not shop here any longer ever and that they lost a good customer. So proceeded back home and looked for the receipt and so it behold there it was I found it. Take now it is fathers day and had a very busy schedule so I went back to the store and she took it upon herself to act like she was going to serve me I admit I was a bit rude but did not disrespect her in any way. At this point I did not want an exchange because I just did not want to no longer support this store since they do not know how to treat there customers. She told me she cannot give me a refund and I can only exchange it. I told her did not want an exchange and wanted a refund stating to her that it is in Family Dollar policy that they have to return it upon request with an original receipt which I had at this point I was upset and stated to her i am not leaving until she refunded my money. She told me I was being rude and she is not going to return it nor exchange it and she would not be helping me. She then called the police on me to have me tresspassed from the store. I ended up getting arrested because of this manager and will hold her and her company along with the officers involved accountable for there actions. Do not shop at this store because they are taping up defective items and putting back on the shelf and then refusing to refund along with the managers uphauling behavior towards a good loyal customer. I will never ever shop at another family dollar in my life.

Customer service is horrid from the managers down to employees. The workers’ attitudes are disgusting; majority (not all) of the women workers are nasty or uncouth, and the men (most) are indifferent. The registers will 9/10 be vacant upon entering, always check the expiration date before buying anything because most likely it’ll be expired, inconsistent restock of products/goods, they close shop whenever they want and have/will sit in front of the door holding irrelevant conversations while refusing entry to customers arriving 30 minutes before closing time, the workers use profanity throughout the store, they are not helpful AT ALL, and they lack respect and common decency. I could go on, but I’ll leave it here. Matteson/family dollar has really shown it’s “true” colors and it speaks for itself. Cooperate really needs to CLEAN HOUSE!!! Beware
