The mysognony is overwhelming at your Mariol, IL location. All I wanted was another can of stain, and the older gentleman insisted that he had to have the can even when I offered him the actual product code. He spoke to me like I was a child. Is this how you train your employees to talk to women? I was completely offended and walked out without purchasing anything. I bet if I'd had my husband with me, he would have talked differently to him. Never have I had such a terrible experience at Menards.

I purchased a $10 item from Menards in Marion, Illinois today, and I knew the moment that I arrived to my car in the parking lot, that the item wasn’t at all what I needed. So, considering I’d just purchased the item less than 5 minutes prior, and the fact that it hadn’t been opened yet, I never even questioned whether they would allow me to return the item. I was immediately informed when I got back into the store, that without a receipt, they wouldn’t allow me to return the item. What receipt?! The cashier never even gave me a receipt! She did however remember me, so what else would they need? Well, the general manager had to be called over the radio, and then he proceeded to spend 20 minutes in the office, Because apparently he thought it was important to find it video evidence of me purchasing the item on their security cameras. As if the Cashier remembering me, and my cash purchase wasn’t enough evidence for them, they felt the need to see it for themselves on video?! So, I waited 20 minutes with the understanding that all they needed to do is see me purchasing it on their security cameras and then they would return the item, and I’d Finally be able to make the exchange, and I’d get my money back. NOPE! Even after seeing it for themselves on security camera, they apparently weren’t satisfied, and then proceeded to explain to me that I would need a receipt to return the item. Well, then, why the hell was I waiting on them, Well, they looked at the security footage?! The general manager was a 20 something year-old kid who was destined to be a used car salesman. He did everything in his power to not only refuse to give me back my money, but to also be a condescending jerk while doing so. Don’t give Menards your business. Purchase your items from a reputable retailer instead. Menards obviously doesn’t care if its shoppers ever return to do business with them ever again. Their choice of manager made that fact quite evident to me today!

I like Menards overall and shop there often. However, I will need to wait until it cools down as Menards is apparently not air conditioning the store. By the time I finished shopping, I had sweat pouring off of me. I asked the cashier if something was broken, and she said no, just new policy. Note that this young lady was obviously hot with her face shiny with sweat. You think you would want your customers and your employees in a comfortable environment. As hard as it is to find good employees, I would think you would improve on work conditions, not make them worse.

There selection is the cheapest if the cheap at premium prices, anyone with any self respect would go elsewhere. From power tools, hand tools, utility knives, ppe, material, and even pet supplies are puke. The dollar general sells the same dog food and supplies for a MUCH better deal. It was so frustrating, that I put everything I had back that I needed I the wrong places, they lost a long time customer today, they won't get a penny out of me EVER again

One of my favorite places to shop. Helpfull staff, always seems to have what I need. If you shop online you will know that the item you want is in-store before you head out!

Experience inside the store was average. The young man in the lumber yard went above and beyond and was extremely helpful to everyone he encountered while we were there.

I purchased a washing machine from here, and in less than 3 months, it stopped working. I contacted the store, and after a long process, I was able to exchange the washer for a new one of the same brand. 4 months later, the washer quit working again, and I can't get anyone to help me get it fixed. Menards if refusing to let me exchange the washer. I never heard of a washer breaking 3 to 4 times in less than 8 months. I purchased the Allstate Protection plan for $90 from Menards, and I still can't get anyone to work on it, and they won't let me exchange it. It's unfortunate with a newborn and not being able to wash clothes.

Products and prices are good; service quality varies greatly, depending on the employees when you go there. Some give you 110%, others give a lot less.
