As a Southern Illinois native, I've had many friends who got their first car or a car from what dealer was formerly known as Auto Credit - not a single one has had a good experience, and furthermore they've all had at least two breakdown experiences I would say within like the first week or two plus make sure you read the freaking paperwork because they don't actually fix the car for you ever they sell you broken cars and don't fix them it's in the contract. it's also cursed land :o

I had a job interview with a manager there at Car-Mart several weeks ago. I was applying for a Full time, Accounts Receivable position. The interview went very well and Janet informed me of the same. I asked Janet a "hypothetical question." The question that was posed, "If I didn't get the position at a job that I have applied for previously. What advise would you give me to help me secure the next position." Janet said that I interview very well, giving answers that was outside the box. I am very well versed in my communication, problem solving. I could differentiate between being told a lie. Or if the customer was telling me the truth as to why a payment hadn't been made. Janet then tell me that she will report the manager. Of the department in which I was applying for. That in her experience as a manager, that I wouldn't be a good fit for him. Because I was TOO RELATEABLE AND TOO GULLIBLE. So therefore, I wouldn't be a good fit for the company. She said that I would do well in another department within the company. But I would be taking someone else's job unfairly. So I asked Janet, were there any other positions open at the company. That I could apply for, and she told me that there wasn't any other positions available. While sitting across from me, she asked me a question. "Where do you see yourself in three years from now." And my reply, "I see myself in an Human Resource position because I know I can't give everyone an opportunity. But I will pride myself on picking the right person for the job. Because I don't believe in bias, age discrimination, gender, nationality, etc. Because no one's nationality, gender or age should disqualify any for the job. Only on their skills, qualifications and their experience should one be judged on. Only to find out, that Janet was not a manager. Janet was the person that was over the Human Resource Dept. So no I didn't not get hired for the position I was seeking. In my opinion, Janet saw me a threat to HER position. And because of that experience with Janet being a representative of Car-Mart. I wouldn't place this company on my list of top 10 dealerships to purchase a SUV. I would rather purchase a Parts Car only. And invest in it, then to do business with their facility because of her. If I'm not good enough to work for your company. But I'm gullible and relatable enough for you to take my money. There is a deeper problem here, and it's with Janet of Human Resources. Thank you BUT no thank you.

My boyfriend got a car from this place. Within 2 weeks the right side of the car quit working. I mean no lock mechanisms no window motors nothing. His key fob kept dying within 3 days. The transmission went out a week later and told him to take it to their dealership. He complied and did so… they had the car for over a month to “fix” the transmission. He gets it back and it’s still doing the same thing. It’s crazy how many problems that damn car had and how unreliable those people truly are.

Definitely recommend car-mart to anyone that needs a used vehicle in the southern Illinois area. They are one of the best places around to purchase a used vehicle if your credit isn’t the best due to past events. Thanks again to Christian for giving me the best experience and guiding me through out the whole process!

Don't bother with the place. They overprice everything, and when you refer someone, and they successfully buy a car from them, they screw you out of the refer credit too

Do not buy from here. They will shut your car off if your late on a payment. When your paid up they will tell you you're still behind and shut it off again. The BBB should be looking into these scandals.
