The bank is good but it gets a 2 star reduction because their drive through deposit speakers are trash. I makes it very frustrating to communicate when your speakers cut out every other word.

Worst bank I’ve ever banked with. Dont waste your time on this bank, they’ll screw you over in the long run and they’re extremely rude to deal with. If you call customer service to deal with anything you can never get ahold of an actual person.

A 2.5 star review that I'm adding to... These people deal with our money & personal identification, & don't see that it's both ways it works.. they have a job ONLY if we come to them. They closed my account without me knowing, & took $100 deposit & randomly chose someone with same last name to deposit money to. I had to wait for following Monday to ask where my money was, & a thin blonde with NO NAME TAG (2nd strike) gives me a slip with an account number not mine, to fill out to get my money back. When I told her it wasn't my account, she said "oh it belongs to..... You'll have to contact them to get your money back." She had no idea that they were my parents; so if they hadn't been, I would've had to find out who these people are, how to contact them & convince them they had my money.. SERIOUSLY?! The BANK'S mistake & I'M supposed to fix it?! And they didn't know cuz I didn't tell them that these others are my parents! I told my parents who went straight to Grant Park branch & changed account numbers & put an extra protection plan on their IDs at TransUnion, Equestrian & Equifax. District manager NEVER spoke to them at any time, not even later after, just left it up to a girl named Gretchen to take care of. Gretchen called me & first words out of her mouth were "you can have an account with us instead"... No care about what I was telling her, she stayed with that mindset whole phone call & expects me to trust? Evidently said NO when it's SAME district manager in GP & Manteno. I reported to BBB, NO RESPONSE FROM MANAGER. BBB emailed & asked if manager ever reached out & I said no, BBB said they'd be facing consequences & complaint posted publicly, SUDDENLY manager states simply "spoke to customer & resolved situation." SHE LIED & did it AFTER seeing my TRUTHFUL response. I said that to BBB & was told they could be charged &/or whatever... Something not good! I got 2 phone calls ever since then, a year later telling me ALL about their "wonderful" plans. I told them exactly everything I've stated & mentioned names, & said lose my number, karma will make it's way to bite. Lady was stunned & said she didn't blame me. District manager isn't too smart nor knowledgeable whether she has a degree from a real college or a cracker jack box where she probably got her birth certificate as well. And Midland in Manteno puts you on hold immediately when you call & walks away, never speaks to anyone, even if you hang up & call back... More than once. Don't go to Midland!

The bank is simple and easy process for those that needs a bank to hold your money and nothing else like any other bank. When there is a problem they legit have an online service that is on almost 24/7 so that is pretty crazy and gives you a lot more security and less paranoia.

The bank is simple and easy process for those that needs a bank to hold your money and nothing else like any other bank. When there is a problem they legit have an online service that is on almost 24/7 so that is pretty crazy and gives you a lot more security and less paranoia.

A bank here the people at this location are very nice I can't talk about the other locations cuz I've never been to the other locations except for a couple times. But it's a good bank.

The customer service reps have always been nice but the system is lacking.The most recent incident I had & am going through is I lost my debit card & was told I could use my savings account card for the purchase & that it would be linked to my checking my account. I transferred enough funds to make the purchase to be withdrawn from checking & it withdrew from my savings so I transferred the money back to my savings. A couple days later the system decides to switch and take it out my checking account, then both accounts. & I get a fee of $72 taken out of my account for not having enough funds when I originally had the money there in the first place!!! I was told I would get refunded then I get an additional 36$ fee.. So far I am waiting to get refunded $108.

Horrible Bank I have been banking with this bank ever since they took over Centrue Bank. My wife forced me to keep the accounts even though we have had negative experiences. I have had nothing but negative experiences over the last seven months they freeze my account claim fraud on a regular basis deny deposits. And you get zero answers when you call or they say it's your fault.

Been an AWFUL experience since switching from Homestar. My app has been hacked multiple times and they accused us of doing it, when CLEARLY it was not. As well as the app not working countless times. The drive thru workers have a hard time understanding what is supposed to be done even when they are clearly told. Going to be switching in the new year because of awful experiences.

I have used this facility for 23 years. My husband inadvertently neglected to transfer the $2,000 to my checking account as he said he would. I received no notice that I was overdrawn to the tune of $1,800. When calling the bank, after four hours of waiting for a return call, I was told how to find out I was overdrawn. It was a four-step process that no one would easily be able to figure out I received NO text, no mail, no email telling me I was overdrawn. I am just thankful that my debit card wasn't stolen because I would have not known. As an extra bonus, even though I have overdraw protection, my Discover charged me $69 for payment that had bounced. Oh, that is because the protection only goes to $1,000. If you decide to use Midland, READ THE FINE PRINT!

Ever since our former bank transferred to Midland it's been a headache! Trouble with the online , trouble with the debit card, customer service makes you sit on hold, then a couple said they would transfer your call, where it's abruptly disconnected! Would like to transfer to another bank, but their lobby is still closed from COVID, so do you conduct your business in the drive up window? Perhaps that explains why the first window has a long line wrapped around the building.

Lobby still closed in September with no end in site. Other businesses with more customers open. National Bank of Manteno lobby open since June. Also their cash station machine is down frequently. Preferred Homestar was a small community bank. When you call Midland Manteno your call is always routed to a call center.

Miss homestar!Constantly putting fraud notices on my card. These are monthly charges that come thru my acct. Happened so many times I lost count. Must get new card and switch my monthly charges To my other bank. this time was on me I didn't. remember one that was listed with Walmart (2) time and a Best buy. Must agree with all other can't get thru by. phone always always busy
